Tracey is awesome! We rescued a sweet and shy girl last year. When we reached out to Tracey, she was very patient and understanding. During the meet-and-greet, she and her pack warmly welcomed our shy girl and Tracey gave us a tour of her house and yard. By the end of the meet-and-greet, our girl was trying to play with all of the dogs which was a great sign. When it came to the first dog sitting day, Tracey sent pictures and updates on a regular basis. We were very assured that our girl was in great hands. When we picked her up the next day, Tracey said that she played a lot with her pack, so she was very tired the rest of the evening, which is super awesome for us! Hopefully, with time, our shy girl will eagerly anticipate going to Tracey's. I highly recommend Tracey as a dog sitter. She has great knowledge on dog behavior and can address it to create a warm and comforting environment. Thank you!

About: I have grown up with pets since I was 5 years old, and have been independently caring for my own animals for the last 10 years. As a software engineer raising and training my own working-breed puppy in advanced skills like scent recognition, I am incredibly comfortable handling active, high-energy dogs. I view morning pet care as my favorite active screen break, giving your pet my complete, focused attention before I sit down at my desk for the day! I offer dedicated availability from early mornings through the afternoon (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday through Friday, with flexibility for other times as needed! This specific window allows me to give your pets focused, uninterrupted exercise, feeding, and care to kickstart their morning! I prioritize pet safety by strictly following your established home routines, securing all leashes and entryways, and treating your home with complete respect. Having raised pets my entire life, I ensure every visit is secure, attentive, and stress-free.

This family has been amazing to my 3 month old puppy, Merle. They have been understanding and flexible with my crazy work schedule. They provide exceptional care to Merle as she can be a handful with a very energetic personality and always looking for trouble. Merle’s tail is wagging everytime I drop her off and she is a sweet tired puppy when she comes home at the end of the day. I highly recommend this family, coming from a first time doggie mama who tends to be a worry wart.

About: My first dog came into my life on my 8th birthday and I have had at least one dog in my life ever since. During college, I started house and pet sitting for extra money and loved helping friends and family take care of their dogs. My husband and I met walking our dogs in the same park (yes, just like in a rom com movie!) and the dogs were even in our wedding. Twenty years later, we have had 5 "fur kids" along the way. We are currently parents of two boxers who just turned 4 years old and bring so much joy into our lives. After a career in law, I decided to make my passion for dogs into a profession. I have taken care of every size, breed and age of dog - loving every one I have come into contact with as if they were my own. I have raised our puppies and helped others with theirs. We have adopted and rescued dogs and I have helped friends and clients do the same. When a friend could not get a flight home, I picked up her dog after emergency surgery and nursed him back to health in her absence. After my own dogs' various surgeries, I have worked with their vets and therapy professionals to get my fur babies healed and back on their paws. Senior dogs often need a little extra TLC and I love making them feel safe and comfortable. No request is too big - I will administer medications, follow the schedule you keep at home, work on any training you might be doing, and make sure they get the right food, even making their meals myself or following special dietary needs - whatever it takes to make sure your dog gets the love, attention and continuity of care needed while staying with me. Along with surgical aftercare, I have experience in caring for dogs with allergies, seizures and physical limitations. I love playing, walking and hiking with dogs, so whatever your dog's exercise needs may be, I make sure they get exactly what you provide at home. Your dog will become a member of our family when they stay with us, always feeling happy, safe and loved, so you can be worry-free while apart from them. Pet care is my full time job! I am home with my dogs and our guest dogs the vast majority of the day and night. You need not worry if your dog takes medicine, eats or exercises at a certain time, I will be with them to follow your instructions precisely and care for them on their schedule without anything else distracting me. Quality care for your dogs is my priority and only job. Your dog is going to have a great time with my dogs and me during their staycation - from cuddles to zoomies, they will be happy, have a lot of fun, and probably go home a little tired. I have a safe, secure, fully fenced backyard with a large doggie door. Most dogs learn to use their special entrance quickly by following my dogs. If they do not want to use it or are too big to fit (like the Great Danes who stay with us), I will be there to let them in and out on demand. No dog will ever be left alone outside unattended, and I keep a close eye on the weather and temperature for their safety. I have taken canine first aid classes, live less than a mile from an emergency vet and I'm prepared for any issue, big or small, that may come up during your dog's stay. You will receive daily updates on your dog, including text messages, pictures and/or videos. Never hesitate to pick up the phone and call me if you need anything while your dog stays with me -we can even do FaceTime so you can talk to your dog directly! We will stay in constant communication so you feel confident your dog is safe, happy and loved.

I am so incredibly pleased with Maritza's care of my 3 month old puppy. I was admittedly nervous leaving him for the first time with someone else, but she sent me tons of pictures throughout the day, took him on MULTIPLE WALKS and gave me a full report on how he did when I picked him up. Maritza is now my go-to sitter!

Maddy and Jake are wonderful and have a very dog-friendly yard and home. They understand my pup is a counter-surfer and escape artist, so they keep temptations out of his reach and are careful with him around open doors. They are also very thoughtful about doggie intros and letting me know if there's gonna be another pup in the mix.

Kerri is amazing! She has cared for my dogs for over 3 years. Kerri and Beth provided excellent care for my blind elderly dog at the end of his life. Now they provide excellent care for my dog with a seizure disorder. I know he will receive his medications on time, walks, snuggles and zen naps while with them. My dog is always excited when I drop him off to spend time with them!

Jenna was great! She was able to provide daycare during the holiday weekend while we moved out, which was so useful! She has a large yard space for the dogs to run around, which they clearly loved since they were exhausted by the time we picked them up! I also loved that she provided videos of the pups during the day! Would definitely recommend Jenna.

Holly did a wonderful job watching our girl, Izzy, while we attended the Pro Women’s Softball game in Salt Lake City. This was the very first time we had ever left Izzy with someone we didn’t know, so we were naturally a little nervous. Holly was patient and understanding with Izzy, especially when she was hesitant to leave on the group walk because she was looking for us where we had dropped her off. Holly took her on a walk with about five other dogs, and Izzy did well! It was reassuring to hear that she settled in and handled the experience so nicely. We really appreciated Holly’s communication and the care she gave Izzy. Knowing our pup was safe, exercised, and in good hands allowed us to relax and enjoy the game. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Holly to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter, and we’d be happy to have Izzy stay with her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in South Salt Lake on Rover is $33.3 per day (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,649 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across South Salt Lake. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your South Salt Lake commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,649 sitters in South Salt Lake, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
