“Tess is awesome!!! She took the best care of my two social cats while I was away. She left detailed updates on the report cards and sent the funniest photos of the boys playing with their favorite toy. She was also very kind and brought in the mail and watered my plants. Truly a top notch sitter with wonderful communication and updates. We are definitely going to use her again for our cat sitting needs!”

“Madison was a fantastic sitter. She took excellent care of our three cats, was responsible, and communicated effectively. She even watered some plants for me, which I greatly appreciated. We would definitely work with her again.”

“Sydney was great and provided detailed check-ins on time with pictures which gave us peace of mind that are guys were in good hands while we were on vacation”

“Kelsey was great!! She sent pictures everyday that she came and cared for our pups. She even took them for walks a few times. I will be contacting her again for more dog sittings in the near future. She was also very polite and understanding to our dogs needs. Thank you again Kelsey!”
“We had such a great experience with Christina! Throughout the stay, we received regular updates, photos, and little notes that showed just how well our dog was being looked after. It was clear our dog was happy, relaxed, and getting lots of attention, and love. We especially appreciated the reliability and professionalism, everything was handled exactly as discussed, and even a few extra thoughtful touches went a long way. Coming home to a happy, well-cared-for dog made all the difference. We would absolutely recommend Christina to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Not accepting dog walking for the next few weeks due to weather/fire conditions. I have asthma and the smoky air isn’t good for me to be in for long. I have a few years experience looking after all kinds of dogs; from the elderly, to injured, to dogs needing specific diets or medication. I have also looked after cats and reptiles before! I teach special education kids Tues-Thurs from 9 AM until 12:00 PM during the summer, so during those times I am not available. In the case of dog sitting, just be aware that I won’t be at the home during those times. I will care for and treat your pets as if they were my own; with all of the love and routine that they need. I will follow any and all instructions you need for your pet; including walk schedules, dietary and medicinal needs, and sleep times.
“Elena took wonderful care of my dogs over the weekend. She dropped in during the times I requested and always provided cute summaries of what they did and pictures. I really appreciated that. Thank you Elena! I would definitely rebook and recommend.”

“I highly recommend Megan! She did an excellent job taking care of my cat for a week while I was away, and I can tell he really enjoyed the love and attention that she gave him. Her updates are always detailed and it’s a joy to get the videos and photos that she sends. Very happy to have found Meaghan in the area - I feel I can trust her to go the extra mile!”

“Mara was amazing! She had last minute availability to feed our pups and was extremely thorough with her communication and pictures :) We really appreciate it and will definitely be using her again in the future to watch our two great danes!”

“Candy was a great help on short notice when we had to go out of town for a funeral. She was great with our dog and we were comfortable everything was cared for during her drop in visits.”

“Nathaniel took excellent care of Benny and Jetson. He performed four drop-in visits over one weekend. He ensured they were fed, potty was cleaned, and even spent some time with them to give them some attention and stimulation. He was able to execute complex care instructions without guidance or support. Upon our arrival home, our dogs were happy, healthy, and our place was well cared for. We will definitely be reaching out to Nathaniel first the next time we need a weekend caretaker for our dogs. Thank you, Nathaniel!”

“Anna was wonderful with our puppy. She was prompt for the meet and greet, and knows how to handle an energetic pup. She arrived on time for visits and sent confirmation photos. We would definitely use her again.”

“Bridgette was very communicative and reliable even under difficult circumstances, and had great insights into my cat's health and well being. Very responsible and went the extra mile on the house. Will hire again.”

About: Hi there! I love every animal. I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life and have had to help out a lot in the past to take care of them. I love staying active and It is a very important factor for animals to get exercise. I love helping animals feel safe and comfortable in their own home and letting them get used to new people! I’m very excited to meet new people and build a strong connection with your pets! 🩷 Im currently in school fully time from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m some days do differ. Always happy to make certain availability if needed My dogs at my house have a fenced yard. I wouldn’t offer taking care of the dogs at my house. I still live with my parents and my dogs are a lot! But im good with crating and things like that!
About: In middle school and high school I walked my neighbors dogs every day single after school. While in college and post-college I watched various people’s houses, dogs, and cats. With over 10 years of dog walking experience I know the importance of exercise for the dogs (and myself) and how necessary it is for them to get out their pent up energy for their sake and yours! I can take them on runs or hikes if desired, or just on a regular walk through the neighborhood or the beach. I currently am applying for graduate school and looking to make some extra money, as I recently quit my job, so I have a lot of time on my hands! I live in West Seattle, have a large yard for dogs to enjoy if they stay with me, and a reliable car. I am clean and like a calm environment which dogs and cats seem to respond well to.
About: I have been passionate about pets my whole life. I am often asked by friends and family to dog sit and take care of their pets when they are away. I treat the dogs I sit like my own and give them the care I would to my own dogs. My dogs are used to having new pet friends when I do dog sit and get along well with them. I am experienced with pets that have special needs, and I am happy to care for fur-babies of all ages and needs. You will have peace of mind that your pet is cared for and loved. I work 4 10 hours days so I will be available on the whole weekend to care for pets. I often spend time walking my dogs and playing with them at the park. They get plenty of play time in and out of the house. I will follow any directions needed to care for your pet at home. Ensuring no escapes is priority number 1! If I am pet sitting I have a big back yard and lots of parks nearby.

This was my second time using Megan's services. One of my cats is very anti-social, but she actually came out and interacted with Megan, which says a lot! Megan took great care of both of my cats, followed all of my instructions carefully, and sent photos and updates promptly throughout my trip. Knowing they were in good hands gave me peace of mind, and I never had to worry while I was away. I highly recommend Megan's services.

This was a fairly straightforward job feeding and changing litter for my "scaredy cat" cat whom I knew was probably never going to come out to play or get pets from a stranger. Nonetheless, Celine was prompt and kind in our meet-and-greet and responsive to my texts while away. She followed all instructions, and I'd definitely hire her again.

Jocelyn always goes the extra mile, she cleans up after our pets, gives them the love and attention they need. It’s like we never left! Also, she was so kind and thoughtful to bring in our packages when we were gone. Super courteous and a great communicator. Nice to have someone we can trust with our house and beloved cats while we are gone!

This is the first time I have left Boo with someone other than my sister. I can’t thank you enough for all the time you spent with her and how much you got her to play and be active! I guess I was getting her the wrong kind of toys. She very rarely plays with any of her toys; I probably play with them more than she does, just trying to get her to interact. I am so happy I have found someone to watch & spend time with her so I can travel. I will definitely use Gaby again!
Etiana was amazing! She did such a great job and I felt so comfortable leaving Neko in her care. From the initial meet and greet, to each drop-in visit I was always impressed with her professionalism and you can tell she loves animals so much. I would totally recommend her to anyone!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
