“Anna did a great job visiting our scaredy cat while we were gone - she went to visit our cat in her hideout place to make sure she was okay. I loved the communication every day.”

“Elena was great! She did a meet and greet before her visit which made me feel very comfortable having her in my home. She sent lots of great pictures too!”

“Second time connecting with Jenna, she is definitely our go-to peron! Jenna is a great cat sitter and is super organized. Will continue to connect with her in the future. She is some one you can trust! Thank you Jenna!”

“Tess was absolutely fantastic. I would not hesitate to rebook her for my two cats! She is communicative, kind, and genuinely cares about her clients and their pets. She went above and beyond with funny photos, dedicated playtime, and followed all of our care instructions to a T. She was able to match the energy with both my playful and my shy cat and get them both to trust and love her. I felt super comfortable with her in my home and knew she was taking great care of my babies. Her time and effort are deeply appreciated, and I know my cats will be happy to see her again the next time we're out of town.”

“Tyson was so attentive and went above and beyond for our doggies. He was always active and made us feel so comfortable leaving them with him. We got constant updates with the cutest pictures. We are so grateful to have found Tyson and our pups are too.”

“Myla was great! My cat really loved her and she went above and beyond caring for her and my home. Myla fed and watered her, brushed her, played with her, and hid treats for her to sniff out. I came home to a happy, healthy pet! Myla even brought in several packages that arrived earlier than anticipated. Overall, I had no issues.”

“Maegan was hands down the best dog sitter I have ever had. She left detailed comments about how our fur baby was doing while we were away and things she was doing to try and help him be as comfortable as he could be! She was fast at responding to any messages I sent and I will definitely be booking with her again in the future. You won’t be disappointed to leave you fur babies in her hands. Thank you so much. She went above and beyond ❤️”

“Morgan was so sweet with my cat Calvin! She sent tons of cute content and it was clear Calvin felt comfortable and was happy to see her. I’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Sylvia is so kind and thoughtful with how she approaches pet care! I appreciated the observations made about the kitties, and Sylvia was able to help with some other unexpected tasks that arose. Definitely recommend!”

About: I am new here and in search of delightful snuggles and quality play time with adorable dogs and cats. I have pet care insurance and Red Cross pet first aid certification. I've cared for and loved animals my entire life, and have also had several careers involving animal care. Over the decades I've welcomed into my home cats, dogs, ferrets, snakes, and more. As a science teacher I've had classroom pets including gerbils, rats, fish, snakes, and even Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches. I have Red Cross certification in cat and dog first aid, which I myself take comfort in having, and private pet care insurance. Professional experience includes: *I worked for the Tracy Aviary decades ago as their Outreach Education Specialist, taking native hawks, falcons, and owls to classrooms across the state. **In my early 20's, I cared for animals at the largest kennel in Central Kentucky, Shaebell Kennels. ***I have a Master's Degree in Education, Ecology/Biology, with 2 summers of Eastern Bluebird field research ****I have taught science for over 22 years at middle and high school levels. Scientifically, yes, they are animals too *****I've done bird surveys for the USFS and amphibian surveys for Frog Loggers of Kentucky, and many other volunteer ecology activities. I love working with animals of all kinds: domestic, wild, and middle-schoolers. :) Now I'm looking to relax and enjoy a quieter retirement and lots of outdoor time. Walking dogs and caring for animals sounds like an ideal hobby. I'd love to meet your sweet pets and possibly care for them. I'm brand new here, and am excited about making my first new animal friends! Now that I'm retired, my schedule is quite flexible. I'm available nearly any day and time requested. Weekdays and weekends are very similar, and I like that! Please check my calendar for availability block-outs. Safety and enjoyment are my top priorities...I want your pet to be delighted with our time together, but first we must all be safe! Thus, I'm certified by the American Red Cross in Dog and Cat first aid, and I have Pet Sitter Insurance. My goal is to not need to use that training or insurance! While teaching, I've walked hoards of middle schoolers around the city for 20 years (our school makes great use of public resources). Makes herding cats seem easy. :) Anyway, I have a full understanding of and appreciation for the risks of walking an urban environment, and will be alert and aware of our surroundings always. I will do my best to avoid possible threats and keep us all safe. If you have route suggestions, I'm all ears! Speaking of which: I look forward to meet-and-greets as an enjoyable opportunity to learn about each other and hopefully create great bonds. Beyond that, I'll learn so much about your pet, including any behaviors or medical conditions I should be aware of, or any special requests you may have. I will walk a maximum of 2 dogs together, from the same household. Since I'm new here, I want to be able to give my undivided attention and affection while I, too, am learning the ropes. For drop-in sitting, I can care for up to 5 animals in one home. If your dog pulls frequently, I may ask you if I may try some training tactics. If your dog is a strong puller, I might suggest that I am not the best fit. I think I'm in pretty good physical shape for my age, but a stronger walker might be a safer alternative for all. With drop-in sitting, I can provide nearly any pet service needed in your home, including feeding, watering, play time, and most of the extra care that senior animals or those with health issues might need. I am responsible, reliable, and respectful of your wishes for your pet's best care. Most of all, I'm excited to make some new fur baby friends!
“Great pet sitter and communicator. Michelle has taken care of our little farm multiple times and we are always impressed and happy with how much care and attention she gives everyone.”

About: I grew up with multiple dogs, have provided paid dog care for 10 years, and currently have my own 8-year-old dog, so caring for pups has been part of my life since childhood. My mom is a professional dog trainer, and I've picked up a lot from her over the years about reading dog behavior and body language. I'm comfortable with anxious or shy dogs and know how to help them feel safe. I'm also confident giving medications when needed. I'm an active person who loves going for walks, and I like bringing dogs along when possible — so your pup won't just be sitting around, they'll get plenty of exercise and attention too. I am a full-time Master of Social Work student at the University of Utah. I am available for morning pet car every day of the week. I am available for evening pet care Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, and Sun. I am available for midday drop ins and care Fri-Sun. Dogs get let out 1st thing in the morning, 1st thing when I return home from being out, and last thing before I go to bed. When I am home I respond to physical behaviors and vocal communication, defaulting to a potty break every few hours. Dogs get at least one physical outing a day. For both dogs and cats, I take time to be restful around the house so they can chill near me and/or cuddle and receive attention.
“Sierra was very communicative and did a great job with all of the instructions we left her. My cats don’t get along very well and she did a good job managing them and making sure they were separated. She also did a great job with administering medicine to my cat that needed it daily. Overall, I am very pleased with the services provided and I would absolutely hire her again!”

About: I have always had a genuine love for animals and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I’m responsible, attentive, and patient, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I have been caring for pets professionally for about 5 years now and have experience with both cats and dogs. I am happy to provide personalized care and plenty of attention. I do work a full time job therefore I may not be the right match for those looking for more potty breaks frequently throughout the day. Your pets safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm and pet friendly environment where both dogs and cats can feel safe. I’m attentive to each pets individual, routine, personality and needs.
“Sydney was great and provided detailed check-ins on time with pictures which gave us peace of mind that are guys were in good hands while we were on vacation”

“Sarah was awesome! Definitely will be hitting her up to walk our pup again. She provided so many photos and was very responsive. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in her care!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - South Salt Lake
Anna did a fantastic job caring for our two cats while we were on a two-week vacation. She was incredibly responsive, kept us updated with pictures after every visit, ensured both cats were eating well, and spent time playing and hanging out with them daily. It was clear that both cats were relaxed and comfortable with her taking care of them. It was very reassuring to know they were in good hands while we were gone, and we would 100% recommend her to care for your cats and would be happy to book her again.

Mara did a wonderful job caring for my cat while we were away. She provided plenty of updates on how he was doing and sent pictures each day. He was not overfed and had plenty of fresh water. Additionally, his litter box was clean when we got home, which is always a relief. I can't recommend Mara highly enough - she's responsible, very kind, and has a great rapport with my cat. A+ all around!

Sean had great, prompt communication and was able to help out with my cat Juneau, fish and kept an eye on plants as I rushed out of town before my father passed. I appreciate knowing my cat could stay in my home while I was away. Sean was attentive to how to best be around my space (asking questions early when clarification was needed). He even gave me some recommendations based on things he used for his cat. Thanks Sean.

I highly recommend Emily! We started with a meet & greet to go over the routine for my cats, & she handled everything perfectly. She was incredibly sweet with my cats, took great care of them, and sent wonderful photo updates while I was away. She even went super above & beyond, in cleaning up after my cats vomited. I will definitely be using her services again!

Evelynn B. Watched my two kitties while I traveled to Spain. She was truly wonderful and easy to talk with and detailed (she took notes during the meet and greet) and I left printed instructions the best I could. I came back and the cat boxes were clean and the kitties we happy! I know cats can be a tad tricky esp with one of my kitties being feral and the other one older with some digestive issues. Having a wonderful professional pet sitted makes a huge difference! Thank you Evelynn for your loving care! I am very grateful for your time/efforts. Happy to be reunited with my kitties again! 😻😻

Madison was everything I could have hoped for watching my babies! She left me feeling confident in her and sent ample check in photos. When I get home from a trip, usually my cats seem more agitated but after Madison watched them, they were quite calm and content when I get home. I would absolutely trust Madison for future trips! Lucky to have found her!

This was our second time booking with Paris and she was great again! She’s reliable, communicative, and takes such good care of all four of our cats. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands while we’re away. We’ll definitely continue booking with her! 🐱🤍

This was our first experience working with Sarah while we were away for ~1 week. She did an outstanding job, she was very responsive and communicated when our instructions weren’t clear. We’ve never come home to a cleaner house than this last time. We have two ragdoll cats that shed a lot, our place was immaculate when we returned home. She clearly went above and beyond. Our cats were happy and well cared for. Our packages were all in the house too. Will definitely reach out to Sarah as our first choice next time we are away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
