“Kristen and Phillip helped with a couple of last-minute drop-ins for our dog and cat. Excellent experience - they were quick to communicate and sent lots of fun pics of our pets. Hope to work with them again in the future!”

“Tess was absolutely fantastic. I would not hesitate to rebook her for my two cats! She is communicative, kind, and genuinely cares about her clients and their pets. She went above and beyond with funny photos, dedicated playtime, and followed all of our care instructions to a T. She was able to match the energy with both my playful and my shy cat and get them both to trust and love her. I felt super comfortable with her in my home and knew she was taking great care of my babies. Her time and effort are deeply appreciated, and I know my cats will be happy to see her again the next time we're out of town.”

“Sydney was great and provided detailed check-ins on time with pictures which gave us peace of mind that are guys were in good hands while we were on vacation”

“Anna was great! She had great communication whether it came to any questions or photo updates of the pups. Will most definitely rebook for future trips!!”

“Elena was such a gem with my cat. He is quite the biter and she was so chill about it and loving towards him regardless! She was prompt, spent loads of time with him even though we just said that she could pop in and out, played with him, gave him lots of love, and sent a bunch of pictures! She communicated so well with us and I felt totally comfortable with her taking care of our little demon cat while we were away. I would 100% trust her to take care of our cat again! Highly recommend (:”

“I'd definitely rebook and recommend Mckenna. My dogs immediately liked her. She's responsive, easy to communicate with, timely, and has a kind energy. Couldn't ask for more.”

About: What sets me apart? Well I am not your average pet sitter! I’ve cared for everything from dogs and cats to ducks, turtles, and birds. I’m experienced with more than just dogs and cats, I’ve cared for birds, fish, turtles, and even helped with ducks, so I’m confident with all kinds of pets and personalities. I’m a dog mom to Winnie and have volunteered at the humane society, which has helped me develop a calm, patient approach—especially with shy or anxious animals. With a background as a medical assistant (and future PA), I’m detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable with medications and special care needs. Flexible schedule, lots of attention, and genuine love for animals—your pet will be safe, happy, and well cared for with me. As a college student with a flexible schedule, pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine. Since I’m not working at the moment, I have plenty of availability throughout the day to provide walks, playtime, and attentive care. Whether your dog needs a midday walk, an evening stroll, or extra attention, I can easily adjust to their schedule. Plus, having raised my own dog since she was a puppy, caring for pets is second nature to me, I love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or my client’s home. I create a calm and secure environment by following each pet’s routine, ensuring they feel comfortable and stress-free. I pay close attention to their behavior, needs, and any special instructions provided by the owner. When walking dogs, I use secure leashes, avoid unsafe areas, and monitor their body language to ensure they feel safe. If caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and routines while providing the same level of care and attention I would for my own dog. My experience raising my own pup has taught me how to handle skittish or anxious dogs with patience and confidence, creating a trusting bond with every pet I care for.
“Abby came to check on my cat every other day while I was on a trip. She gave thorough and consistent updates, sent pictures, and gave me such peace of mind while I was so far away. She also watered my indoor plants and my small sapling and everything was alive and well when I got home. Would definitely go through her again.”

“Just so sweet and patient with our dogs and willing to go above and beyond to help them become better socialized. We are so grateful for Michelle and would recommend to anyone with any dog.”

“Sarah was awesome! Definitely will be hitting her up to walk our pup again. She provided so many photos and was very responsive. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in her care!”

“Micheline took wonderful care of our kitty, Mr.Pickles! She was patient and went out of her way to provide a great experience for him, and while giving us piece of mind. Thank you, Micheline! We look forward to working with you again 💕”

“Mara was amazing! She had last minute availability to feed our pups and was extremely thorough with her communication and pictures :) We really appreciate it and will definitely be using her again in the future to watch our two great danes!”

“I am very happy. She was such a nice lady. My cats loved her, even the "scardy cat." She communicates really well and sends lots of pictures. I highly recommend her!”

“Andrew was incredibly communicative and truly listened to our needs for our cat. He did an excellent job with the check-in visits and kept us well updated the entire time. We felt very comfortable leaving our cat in his care and would happily book with him again.”

“Kyle was professional and attentive. Our case was a bit more difficult, due to a recent injury to one of our cats, but Kyle was accommodating (he was able to give oral medication and ensure his cone remained safely around his neck). My cats loved having him around, with our generally skittish cat warming up to him after only a few visits. We loved getting his updates and seeing the pictures he sent. We would happily work with Kyle again in the future!”

“We recently moved and had to find a new drop in sitter for our cat, and Annie was great! She sent lots of pictures, communicated well, and most of important took great care of our cat while we were away for a long weekend! We will definitely look to rebook Annie for future trips!”

“Anna was professional and communicative while coordinating drop-in visits for my two cats. She stopped by a few days before the visit to meet my boys and get in-person instructions for their care. She sent me updates and photos during her check-ins, and was open to staying for extra time on one of the days to spend more time and play with them. I appreciate Anna’s help, and would definitely use her again for a weekend trip!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Salt Lake City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
