“Clare was a true professional and provided a fantastic training experience. I feel enabled to better train my dog and continue to work on the skills and techniques we reviewed”

About: My hands-on work with the behavior and training team at The Humane Society of Utah gave me extensive experience reading body language and supporting a wide range of behavioral needs. As a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner, I focus on clear, effective, and enjoyable training. Working through reactivity and aggression with my own dog showed me how misunderstood behavior can be and how powerful compassionate training truly is. I strive to create a supportive, judgment-free space where dogs and their humans can succeed together.
About: Animals are my passion. Regardless of the care or training I give your animals I will treat them like my own. I have a life long experience being around animals, especially dogs, and helping people and pets have a positive relationship is my passion!
About: I have a unique approach after training dogs to do service and therapy work for autistic children. I have done work in clinics and large events with my own dogs as well as many dog sports like dock diving and agility. Because of the extensive hours I have spent working with and around dogs, I have a wide view of a dog’s ability and ways to teach them that capitalize on their abilities and needs.
About: I love every type of animal, but especially dogs. I feel deeply connected to them. I have worked and volunteered with animal shelters because I care a lot for the animals there, but also the people who had to make the decision to surrender their pet. Between my own two dogs, I've personally experienced issues with leash reactivity, separation anxiety, leash-pulling, jumping, house training, resource guarding, and dog-dog relationships, so I know how heavy these issues can weigh on a family. A motivator for me as a trainer is to create happy relationships between humans and their pups.
“Tisha is really knowledgeable about dog behavior and gave me some great feedback and things to work on with my reactive puppy. I would highly recommend for any dog training needs.”

“Amazing communication. Asks all the right questions. Gives very helpful and relevant advice. We are very happy with our decision to hire and continue working with Emmy.”

Dog Training FAQs
Frequently asked questions about Rover
Trainers listing on Rover must be credentialed dog trainers, commit to reward-based training methods, and pass a background check to offer dog training in Salt Lake City.
Reward-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes; treats, play, or toys. Reward-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.
When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.
Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.
Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!
