Anna was professional and communicative while coordinating drop-in visits for my two cats. She stopped by a few days before the visit to meet my boys and get in-person instructions for their care. She sent me updates and photos during her check-ins, and was open to staying for extra time on one of the days to spend more time and play with them. I appreciate Anna’s help, and would definitely use her again for a weekend trip!

About: I have grown up and raised numerous dogs at a time. I have experience with cats, birds, rodents and fish. My current pet is a husky named Lacey who loves and gets along with everyone including other pets. I have raised yorkies, pit bulls, huskies, and dalmatians just to name a few. i love to make new animal friends and cant wait to meet your best friend =) I work seasonal jobs and have long breaks in between jobs where I enjoy spending my time outside meeting new dogs and playing with my dog. I have a small but useful fenced in backyard as well as a large dog park around the corner where we can play and run our little hearts out. I enjoy long walks and throwing the ball for your pet to fetch. A tired pet is a happy pet.

About: I have been passionate about pets my whole life. I am often asked by friends and family to dog sit and take care of their pets when they are away. I treat the dogs I sit like my own and give them the care I would to my own dogs. My dogs are used to having new pet friends when I do dog sit and get along well with them. I am experienced with pets that have special needs, and I am happy to care for fur-babies of all ages and needs. You will have peace of mind that your pet is cared for and loved. I work 4 10 hours days so I will be available on the whole weekend to care for pets. I often spend time walking my dogs and playing with them at the park. They get plenty of play time in and out of the house. I will follow any directions needed to care for your pet at home. Ensuring no escapes is priority number 1! If I am pet sitting I have a big back yard and lots of parks nearby.

About: Hi there! I’m a vet tech with 6 years of experience. I am no longer in the field but am comfortable giving medications to cats and dogs. I’m also comfortable with all dispositions of cat and dog! Willing to work with foster animals as well. I work full time down town with a flexible schedule. I am able to do 3 short visits a day at this time and hopefully longer stays in the future! I have 3 dogs of my own, including 2 senior animals with health issues. I have done lots of house and pet sitting in the past and my #1 goal is to help pets feel less alone while their parents aren’t there. I do my best to make pets I am watching feel loved and cared for.

Mara is hands down the most reliable, helpful, and genuinely caring Rover sitter we've ever had. She stepped in last minute to watch SkyeBoat and Roxy when we were in a bind, and she absolutely saved us! From the moment we connected, Mara was responsive, thoughtful, and clearly cared about making sure our pups were comfortable and well loved. She kept us updated, gave us complete peace of mind while we were away, and treated SkyeBoat and Roxy like they were her own. It's rare to find someone who is not only dependable but also so incredibly kind and attentive. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs, which says everything about the care they received. If you're looking for someone you can trust completely with your pets, Mara is the one. We are beyond grateful and will absolutely book with her again. Thank you, Mara, for going above and beyond!

About: I have dog sat any time family or friends needed someone to either drop in or stay over and watch their pups. I have had golden retrievers all my life and I love being around dogs! I’m very active in my lifestyle so I love taking pups for a stroll. I am a student at the U (missing my pups at home) and I do research at the U! I am taking summer courses, which keeps me occupied from 10-2 Monday-Friday, but other than that I build my own schedule so I am flexible. I unfortunately live in an apartment in Salt Lake, so dogs coming here probably isn’t the number one option due to the lack of yard… HOWEVER I have had many experiences with different dogs including dogs that need to be crated.

We had never used Rover before, but were told by others to schedule a meet & greet. From the moment my husband and I met Leigh, we knew she would do a great job taking care of our cat. We came home to a clean home and to a cat that was obviously well taken care of. We received daily updates through Rover as well as photos. Rover should be proud to have Leigh representing its company.

About: Since I was a kid we’ve always had pets, from hamsters to dogs, I have much experience caring for pets. Taking care of my pets and helping out with friends and neighbors for their whole lives has taught me how to care especially for puppies and senior dogs, and everything in between. I go to school and work in a research lab. I have weekends free and would love to spend that time spending time helping take care of wig someone’s animal. I have a senior dog myself that would love some company and spends most of his time in his own closed off area. I would spend much time with any animal I am watching and take them out several times as I do my own. I also can put them off in a closed off area if they needed space. As for in a clients home I can stop by several times a day on the weekends and make sure to treat their pet the way I would my own with lots of love and affection.

Mara has been absolutely amazing with my Husky, Kita. She’s incredibly reliable, communicates clearly, and always sends photos before, during, and after each walk so I know exactly how things are going. Kita genuinely loves her and gets along with her so well. Mara even went above and beyond by cleaning up an accident Kita had one day without me asking. I’m really grateful for the level of care she gives. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog.

We’ve trusted Zahir with our pets four different times now, including a 10+ day trip to Europe and a couple of last-minute bookings that truly saved us. We have a 105-pound Bernedoodle and an indoor/outdoor cat, and knowing they’re in his care gives us complete peace of mind. Our dog is incredibly loving but also anxious, stubborn, strong-willed, and very strong. Zahir has never once made us feel like Lloyd was too much to handle. He is confident, capable, and clearly experienced with large dogs and all the surprises that can come with them. He always sends thoughtful updates and great photos, genuinely cares about our pets’ well-being, and is proactive about emergency contacts and preparation. The one time he wasn’t available, he even connected us with someone he personally recommended. That level of care says a lot. We would give him five-plus stars and will continue to use him anytime we travel. We couldn’t recommend him more highly.

For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salt Lake City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Salt Lake City with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
