“Micheline took wonderful care of our kitty, Mr.Pickles! She was patient and went out of her way to provide a great experience for him, and while giving us piece of mind. Thank you, Micheline! We look forward to working with you again 💕”

About: I am new here and in search of delightful snuggles and quality play time with adorable dogs and cats. I have pet care insurance and Red Cross pet first aid certification. I've cared for and loved animals my entire life, and have also had several careers involving animal care. Over the decades I've welcomed into my home cats, dogs, ferrets, snakes, and more. As a science teacher I've had classroom pets including gerbils, rats, fish, snakes, and even Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches. I have Red Cross certification in cat and dog first aid, which I myself take comfort in having, and private pet care insurance. Professional experience includes: *I worked for the Tracy Aviary decades ago as their Outreach Education Specialist, taking native hawks, falcons, and owls to classrooms across the state. **In my early 20's, I cared for animals at the largest kennel in Central Kentucky, Shaebell Kennels. ***I have a Master's Degree in Education, Ecology/Biology, with 2 summers of Eastern Bluebird field research ****I have taught science for over 22 years at middle and high school levels. Scientifically, yes, they are animals too *****I've done bird surveys for the USFS and amphibian surveys for Frog Loggers of Kentucky, and many other volunteer ecology activities. I love working with animals of all kinds: domestic, wild, and middle-schoolers. :) Now I'm looking to relax and enjoy a quieter retirement and lots of outdoor time. Walking dogs and caring for animals sounds like an ideal hobby. I'd love to meet your sweet pets and possibly care for them. I'm brand new here, and am excited about making my first new animal friends! Now that I'm retired, my schedule is quite flexible. I'm available nearly any day and time requested. Weekdays and weekends are very similar, and I like that! Please check my calendar for availability block-outs. Safety and enjoyment are my top priorities...I want your pet to be delighted with our time together, but first we must all be safe! Thus, I'm certified by the American Red Cross in Dog and Cat first aid, and I have Pet Sitter Insurance. My goal is to not need to use that training or insurance! While teaching, I've walked hoards of middle schoolers around the city for 20 years (our school makes great use of public resources). Makes herding cats seem easy. :) Anyway, I have a full understanding of and appreciation for the risks of walking an urban environment, and will be alert and aware of our surroundings always. I will do my best to avoid possible threats and keep us all safe. If you have route suggestions, I'm all ears! Speaking of which: I look forward to meet-and-greets as an enjoyable opportunity to learn about each other and hopefully create great bonds. Beyond that, I'll learn so much about your pet, including any behaviors or medical conditions I should be aware of, or any special requests you may have. I will walk a maximum of 2 dogs together, from the same household. Since I'm new here, I want to be able to give my undivided attention and affection while I, too, am learning the ropes. For drop-in sitting, I can care for up to 5 animals in one home. If your dog pulls frequently, I may ask you if I may try some training tactics. If your dog is a strong puller, I might suggest that I am not the best fit. I think I'm in pretty good physical shape for my age, but a stronger walker might be a safer alternative for all. With drop-in sitting, I can provide nearly any pet service needed in your home, including feeding, watering, play time, and most of the extra care that senior animals or those with health issues might need. I am responsible, reliable, and respectful of your wishes for your pet's best care. Most of all, I'm excited to make some new fur baby friends!
“Elena took wonderful care of my dogs over the weekend. She dropped in during the times I requested and always provided cute summaries of what they did and pictures. I really appreciated that. Thank you Elena! I would definitely rebook and recommend.”

“We are so pleased with the service Brianna provided to our two cats. When we got back home after a 7 day vacation they were happy and clearly well cared for. Each of our cats require a different kibble and one takes a pill once per day. She provided twice per day visits and sent photos daily. We will definitely rebook with Brianna.”

“Kristen and Phillip helped with a couple of last-minute drop-ins for our dog and cat. Excellent experience - they were quick to communicate and sent lots of fun pics of our pets. Hope to work with them again in the future!”

About: Hi, neighbors and friends! I’m a millennial pug mom who loves dogs. I have raised pugs since I was 3 years old. I come from a family of dog breeders, adopters, fosters, and truly love pets as family. I am offering to love on your dog as much as I love my two pug four year old babies. I can take them for daily walks or the dog park while you are at work or vacation. I’m happy to help with puppies and senior dogs who may need to go out more often, or those with separation anxiety to feel safe with someone with them at home. Now booking for Summer 2026 book for your next vacation to care for your dog. I'm currently available to walk your dog in the mornings and evenings, as well as take them to the dog park for a play date. My dogs keep a routine so let us know if your dog also has a special routine so we can accommodate! I'm also happy to sit with them so they don't feel alone if you are out of town. I can visit your pet and make sure they are fed and have water, play with them, let them out and take them for a walk to the dog park if you like.
“Elizabeth was prompt in responding to my drop-in request and showed us lots of pictures. Our dog seemed to have a wonderful time and loved playing fetch at the park. I would book again!”

About: I adore dogs! Tilly (my dog) and I would love to give your pup one-on-one attention while you're away. For as long as I can remember, animals have been part of my life — my childhood dogs were a Great Dane and a Mastiff, so I'm just as comfortable with larger breeds as I am with smaller ones. I've had dogs my whole life and have been babysitting dogs for 15 years. I know how important it is to dogs and their owners to have attentive and consistent companionship, not just a quick check-in. I can provide the calm, steady environment that suits easygoing dogs best — plenty of cuddles, a relaxed pace, and someone paying attention to their needs all day long. We'll also get out for regular walks to keep them happy and active. I'm a neuroscience researcher and work from home most days. I'll be home all day during your booking, so your pup is never left alone or wondering when you're coming back. If your dog would thrive with a in a calm environment with a devoted human and amiable doggy companion, Tilly and I would love to host your pup! I work full-time, but will be working from home all day when I am babysitting your pup! My dog and I go for frequent little walks throughout the day to enjoy the adorable neighborhood! My apartment is a good size for all breeds, but is most comfortable for less energetic pups. I have an unfenced yard, so no time off-leash during bathroom breaks, unfortunately. My neighborhood is extremely dog friendly, so walks to stretch our legs throughout the day!
“Andrew was incredibly communicative and truly listened to our needs for our cat. He did an excellent job with the check-in visits and kept us well updated the entire time. We felt very comfortable leaving our cat in his care and would happily book with him again.”

“Kaitlyn was SO WONDERFUL with our cat Moosh. She gave incredibly detailed written summaries and always a ton of photos. Her communication was top notch as well. She’s the best!”

“Nicole was amazing! My cat loved her. Not only did she do a great job with feeding but she cleaned his litter box and played with him. She kept me updated everyday on how he was doing and was always quick to respond when I sent her a message.”

“Sydney was great and provided detailed check-ins on time with pictures which gave us peace of mind that are guys were in good hands while we were on vacation”

“Sheila took great care of my pup! She was on time gave extra cuddles and sent cute pics. When I got home I could definitely tell she wasn’t lacking for attention. Thanks so much for caring for Piper so well! Will definitely be booking with Sheila again.”

Anna did a fantastic job caring for our two cats while we were on a two-week vacation. She was incredibly responsive, kept us updated with pictures after every visit, ensured both cats were eating well, and spent time playing and hanging out with them daily. It was clear that both cats were relaxed and comfortable with her taking care of them. It was very reassuring to know they were in good hands while we were gone, and we would 100% recommend her to care for your cats and would be happy to book her again.

I couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter than Elizabeth! From the moment we met, she was kind, professional, and completely tuned into the needs of my 2 dogs. Throughout the stay, I received regular photo updates and thoughtful notes that gave me total peace of mind while away on a trip. My pups were happy, relaxed, and well taken care of. I will definitely book with her again.
Mara did a wonderful job caring for my cat while we were away. She provided plenty of updates on how he was doing and sent pictures each day. He was not overfed and had plenty of fresh water. Additionally, his litter box was clean when we got home, which is always a relief. I can't recommend Mara highly enough - she's responsible, very kind, and has a great rapport with my cat. A+ all around!

Sean had great, prompt communication and was able to help out with my cat Juneau, fish and kept an eye on plants as I rushed out of town before my father passed. I appreciate knowing my cat could stay in my home while I was away. Sean was attentive to how to best be around my space (asking questions early when clarification was needed). He even gave me some recommendations based on things he used for his cat. Thanks Sean.

Marybeth was SUCH a rockstar! Great communication, flexible, and stellar kitty skills - my elderly cats are skittish around strangers but had no issues hanging out with her. I had a very stressful, sudden business trip and knowing she was taking care of my cats was a HUGE relief!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
