“Dominique took great care of our shy, sensitive dog Pepper over the weekend! The setup is great - and she sent us videos of Pepper playing and basking in the sun on her patio - so we knew she was in great hands. Highly recommend Dominique!”

“Holly was super nice, greeting us and welcoming us into her home and introducing herself and some furry friends. Leilani looked like she had a good time, Holly sent such good clips and pictures of Leilani and her new friends going for a walk and playing!! Highly recommend :)”

“I had a wonderful experience with this dog sitter! My dogs were very happy in her care and were excited to go back each morning, which gave me a lot of confidence that they were being well looked after. She was reliable, communicative, and kept me updated with photos and even the routes they took on their walks. It was great to see what they were up to throughout the day. One day, one of my dogs rolled in something particularly messy, and she took the time to get her cleaned up before I picked her up. That extra level of care was really appreciated. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Hannah was so kind and interactive with Joni. We came to SLC for a week from Montana and needed care for our new puppy. She was flexible, available, and trustworthy. I highly recommend her services, and if we ever return to SLC would see if she is available to watch our animals again.”

About: I have grown up and raised numerous dogs at a time. I have experience with cats, birds, rodents and fish. My current pet is a husky named Lacey who loves and gets along with everyone including other pets. I have raised yorkies, pit bulls, huskies, and dalmatians just to name a few. i love to make new animal friends and cant wait to meet your best friend =) I work seasonal jobs and have long breaks in between jobs where I enjoy spending my time outside meeting new dogs and playing with my dog. I have a small but useful fenced in backyard as well as a large dog park around the corner where we can play and run our little hearts out. I enjoy long walks and throwing the ball for your pet to fetch. A tired pet is a happy pet.
“divine is so kind. she always makes sure that santiago is well loved and cared for. any time i drop santiago off, he is so excited. one thing is that my dog has a hard time eating at other places. divine always tries to make him feel safe and is willing to try lots of different foods with them. overall, i feel confident that santiago is being well cared for while staying with divine.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 7 years old! I currently also have a bunny and a double doodle puppy. I have also cat sit but I am open to caring for all animals! I am currently at sophomore at the University of Utah. I have in person classes on Mondays and Wednesdays but am pretty flexible on when I can care for your pets! In my clients home, I am able to do whatever they need to make the animals comfortable. I am not offering care in my home at this time.
“Amy was great! She was very welcoming. My mini doxie has a pretty intense case of separation anxiety and even though I feel bad he gave her a hard time for the first little while once he settled down he was happy as could be and formed an attachment to her daughter which was adorable! Communication was good, and I brought home a happy boy. Definitely going to keep her in my back pocket. :)”

About: What sets me apart is my deep, real-life experience and love for animals. For the past year, I’ve been the primary caregiver for a 6-year-old golden retriever rescue, which has taught me patience, consistency, and how to meet a dog exactly where they are—especially when trust and routine really matter. I also grew up with two golden retrievers, so caring for dogs has always been a natural part of my life. In addition, I spent four months caring for a beautiful cat on a farm in North Carolina, giving me hands-on experience with cats and different living environments. I treat every animal as if they’re my own, with genuine attention, affection, and respect for their individual needs. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have open availability and do all of my schoolwork from home, so I’m able to be present, flexible, and attentive throughout the day. On occasion, I may need to step away for a few hours for work once or twice a week, but I always plan ahead to make sure pets are comfortable, exercised, and cared for before and after. Because I’m home most of the time, I can easily adjust my schedule around feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. I have a small dog park like literally right across the street from me so it's perfect!! I care for pets as if they’re my own, giving them the best love and attention I can. I make sure they get healthy meals, regular exercise, and plenty of affection. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and happy. I also have plenty of friends with dogs in the building and area where they can call meet and play!
About: I have had pets in my home for my entire life. I have volunteered in animal shelters since 2019 and currently do regular shifts at a local shelter, where I walk dogs (I am trained to the most advanced level, meaning I can interact with and walk dogs who are still working on their social skills and interactions), take dogs and cats on local news shows to encourage adoption, foster dogs in my own home, and take part in educational opportunities to continually advance my animal care and advocacy abilities. My full-time job is remote and has a flexible schedule, so I can hang out with pets for much of the day and take breaks for outside time, playtime, appointments, and so on. I also teach a handful of yoga classes every week, usually in the late mornings, but the times vary from week to week. I am happy to give your pet what they need, whether that's scritichies, playtime, walks, gentle time sitting around, medicine, and so on. Whatever it is, I will be patient with them and their needs.

About: Can't wait to meet you and your special animal! I would love to take care of your fur baby while you're away. I've watched my friends animals and rover sittings for years. I live in a pet friendly apartment complex in Sugarhouse where we have lots of areas for walks and outdoor fun. Trusting someone with your pet or in your home is never easy, but I would absolutely treat them as my own pets and keep them happy and safe. My work schedule is 4 days on, 3 days off so my availability will only be my days off when I can take care of your pet full time. Animals in my house or care are treated with utmost love. I have the time and availability now for round the clock care so happy to host them at my house or spend time at yours.

“Ellen was amazing!! I cannot say enough wonderful & positive things to say about her service. My husky puppy was well taken care of, she checked in with me with pictures of the puppy. She was kind and flexible with her time. I will be using her service again bc I can trust that my husky will be in great hands. Thank you.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Salt Lake City
Alexis was so great with our dogs. We decided to do a trial run before they stay with her for two weeks, and they had a blast! She is super communicative and sent photos of them throughout the day. I can’t wait to bring them back in a few weeks when we’re out of town!

I had a wonderful experience with this dog sitter! She was reliable, communicative, and kept me updated with photos and even the routes they took on their walks. It was great to see what they were up to throughout the day. Dominique was great with Taz! She was super communicative, kind, and made me feel really comfortable leaving my dog with him especially since I’m newer to the area. Taz came home happy, relaxed, and well taken care of. I really appreciated the updates and knowing he was in good hands. Would definitely book with her again 😊🐾

Easily the best experience I’ve had with doggie daycare. Dom took Josie on all the adventures, sent a ton of good updates, and even helped with training tips. You can tell she has a deep love and understanding of dogs, highly recommend to anyone who loves their pup.

Nicole is our new favorite dog sitter! Her care and attention to detail blew us away. She took our Scout on adventures, maintained our preferred puppy training, helped reinforce the habits we wish to keep at home, and truly treated her like family while in her care. She communicated throughly, sent us updates, and made the whole process a breeze. We couldn’t recommend Nicole enough! 10/10 experience! We will be using her again!

Madelaine was wonderful with our 6-month-old miniature dachshund. Even though it was just a day stay, it was immediately clear when I picked her up that she’d had a great day. Our puppy was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Madelaine was kind, attentive, and made us feel completely at ease leaving our pup in her care. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving sitter.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Salt Lake City commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
