“Angela is amazing. From the beginning we were reassured that she’d take excellent care of our puppy and she did not disappoint. She sent the most adorable pictures of our puppy daily. Her replies were instant and her pets are so kind. We will always book with her.”

“I am so glad we found Shanalee and Zachary. They took such great care of Clover and sent updates with pictures. I can tell she was right at home and will absolutely be using them again. Highly recommend!”

“Karlie was so friendly and easy to work with! We had a meet up before our booking to make sure the dogs got along. Her home is very nice and spacious with lots of room for the dogs to play outside.”

“Genny and her family took amazing care of my dog. Tons of photos and updates were sent ensuring I knew my dog was in great hands. I would recommend anyone to use Genny to watch over their pet.”

“Amazing care of our boy. Alicia was so amazing when he woke up morning of our trip with diarrhea. We could tell he was loved like he was their own boy! Will book again :)”

“Casondra is amazing! I was completely at ease leaving my two dogs with her and her family. She is very attentive and very patient with a nervous dog parent. I received lots of photos and great communication. I would absolutely love to book with her again”

“Adam and Courtney are great caretakers! Crash had so much fun and loved going on walks. Adam sent pictures and was responsive, warm and polite. Crash can’t wait to stay with them again.”

“Evette was so good to our dog, and lives in a doggy dreamland with so many friendly neighbors. This was our first time leaving our dog and we would absolutely leave her with Evette again in the future. She was also super flexible with our short notice travel plans, which was a huge relief.”

“Amazing sitter! First…. I booked her last minute but she accepted. 2nd she communicates very frequently and sends pictures. 3rd she goes above and beyond for mango (my dog)!!! She watched mango on thanksgiving and gave him festive food too! She checked in with me first though before giving him anything. 100% would recommend! Will be booking her again when visiting Utah again.”

“Danika & Jordan were great! They struck me as a kind, responsible, dog loving family. My dog seemed much less stressed coming home from there than the kennel I normally board her with. The photo updates while I was gone were the icing on the cake. Happy to use them again for my next trip!”

“Sol did a wonderful job with our dog. We got regular photos and updates on the fun they were having together. Thank you Sol for keeping Coco so happy while we were away! Would definitely recommend and use again.”

“So grateful for Nicole and James! We had to leave our pup for a long trip and I felt so comfortable leaving him with them. They were extremely communicative and proactive and took such good care of him. Our dog came home happy and tired but not at all anxious. Will definitely book again!”

“Gail is amazing! We’ve booked her twice already and plan to continue booking her for all future needs. I love that she sends photos & videos to keep you updated on how your dog is doing. She also has multiple dogs of her own, so your dog has SO many playmates while they’re there - my dog didn’t even want to leave when I came to pick him up haha!”

“As always, Brett and his family did an incredible job watching my sweet boy. He has separation anxiety and they gave him all the comfort, playtime, and attention he needs. I don’t think there’s anyone better to watch your pets!”

“Alex and Alesia were awesome! They were super accommodating and flexible and took great care of my pup. My dog got to go on hikes, walks to the park, and have plenty of playtime in between. Thanks to them we have a happy (and tired) dog!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Taylorsville
Our dog had a great time with Rachel and her family. She e received pictures and updates while we were away, and it was great to know that she was so well cared for and moved while we were on vacation. We will be rebooking with Rachel the next time we go out of town, I can’t recommend her enough!

Logan was absolutely amazing with our two heelers. Our dogs are a bit shy, apprehensive and can even be a little aggressive at times. By the end of the stay he was sending us pictures of him petting them and getting kisses from them. We have taken them to other sitters and they have been been stingy with even little pets the whole stay. We will definitely be booking with him again and there isn’t anyone else I would trust our dogs with.

This was my first time booking with Genny and she took excellent care of my senior pups. I don’t leave them very often, and this is also the first time I’ve left them in the care of someone in their home, that wasn’t my own family. I am very protective of my pups and am very hesitant of improper care for my dachshunds. They have kind of a unique feeding and bedtime routine and she conquered it with ease. I felt comfortable with her and her family when we met before booking! While on my vacation, I felt they were in good hands with her, especially after the first update. She consistently provided me with plenty of photos and text updates, about three times a day, just keeping me in the loop which was a welcome surprise! My pups seemed very happy in her photos and got plenty of their favorite.. sun time. Thank you, Genny, for taking such good care of my pups!
Tea was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we dropped off our dog, Bolt, we knew he was in great hands. She welcomed him into her family, and he quickly bonded with her own dogs—even though they were at least ten times his size! Throughout the week, Tea kept us updated with frequent messages and lots of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious that Bolt was happy, well cared for, and treated like one of her own. If you’re looking for a caring, trustworthy dog sitter in the Salt Lake City area, I highly recommend Tea. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Bolt with her again!

Tylee and Tyler did an outstanding job taking care of my Yorkshire terrier, Pinto. When I arrived to pick him up, he was happy, healthy, and in great shape. I will definitely reach out to Tylee and Tyler again when I need a sitter for Pinto. They are warm, responsible, and just the kind of people you want looking after your beloved dogs while you're away.

We are so happy with Wookie’s stay. We were worried since it was her first time away as I work from home. So someone is always home with her. However, we couldn’t have been put more at peace with her stay. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our little one.

Justine was amazing. This was our first time boarding with her and her family. They have a cute family that was a perfect fit for our malshipoo. We had an out of country vacation and we didn’t worry at all about leaving our dog with them. We received daily updates and they are so friendly and easy to communicate with. We will definitely book with them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
