“Marylynn was great with Riza! She took her on several walks and sent me lots of updates. My dog had a blast at her house and was nice and tired when I brought her back home.”
“Samantha was great! She sent pictures of our dog everyday and took him out for walks and playtimes. She understood my dog’s needs and I know my dog requires lots of patience, which she showed. Will definitely book again!”

“Gracie was absolutely AMAZING with my dog, and sent me lots of communication on what they were up to while I was away. I was nervous with it being my first time using Rover, and she went above and beyond anything I expected! He was exercised daily, got lots of play time, and was even bathed before we picked him up. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants someone who will treat you dog like family, and will get to know them so personally in only a few days with them. Thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“Genny and her family took amazing care of my dog. Tons of photos and updates were sent ensuring I knew my dog was in great hands. I would recommend anyone to use Genny to watch over their pet.”

“Amber did an amazing job with our senior dog. After meeting her I immediately knew I had made the right choice in leaving our dog with her. She is so kind and attentive and I knew he was in the best care while we were away.”

“Kristen was so awesome with my dog, she treated her great and kept me up to date on her and sent pics of it dogs playing. Great communication, i will definitely have Kristen watch my dog again soon. Highly recommend”

“I’ve taken my furbabies to Arius multiple times since 2021 and it’s always a great experience. Appreciate their care towards my dogs while I’m away. Highly suggested.”

“Amazing care of our boy. Alicia was so amazing when he woke up morning of our trip with diarrhea. We could tell he was loved like he was their own boy! Will book again :)”

“Danika & Jordan were great! They struck me as a kind, responsible, dog loving family. My dog seemed much less stressed coming home from there than the kennel I normally board her with. The photo updates while I was gone were the icing on the cake. Happy to use them again for my next trip!”

“I can tell Fitz had a great time. He's a high energy dog who can act out if he's pent up, but he was great when we came back home. He was even tired after our usual walk, so I know he had all the play time he needed with Logan.”

“Incredibly nice, super attentive to everything. She updated me how my dogs were doing and sent me pictures. I know for sure my dogs had a blast and I’m very grateful for her help and patience! Loved the experience! It was my first time leaving my dogs somewhere else. 10/10”

“This was our first experience leaving our dog anywhere other than with family. We could not have asked for a better experience! Sarah was so friendly and great with our dog! We are very great full for how accommodating she was and how she kept in contact with us while we were away! Thank you Sarah!!!!!”

“James did a great job dog sitting Leo. James sent me plenty of cute pictures and updates throughout the stay. He took Leo with him on plenty of car rides, a few hikes, and Leo loved playing with the other dogs.”

“Elisabeth (Betsy) was great taking care of our dog for a few days this week. She was very responsive communicating back and forth, and really open about what we could expect. She sent a lot of messages and pictures of walks, playing, and caring for our dog. She really seemed to enjoy him, and her dog was very friendly and a playful. I am sure my dog had a wonderful time.”

“Elena and Donald exceeded all of my expectations about how well my dogs would be cared for. The accommodations in their home for a large dog and attention they provided was exceptional!!!”

“Jordan came through for me when my sitter had to cancel on me at the last minute. My dog was well taken care of and seemed very happy when I came to pick her up. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!”

“Evelyn was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of our dog and also was able to get our very skittish cat to warm up and come out of hiding. She was quick to respond and kept us updated with how they were doing and cute pictures of them being loved and cuddled. Our plane was delayed almost 3 hours, Evelyn was very understanding and worked with us having a later than expected pick up time.”

“Stephanie took such great care of our dog. She had so much from the moment she stepped into her house. Stephanie has so many toys for dogs to play with and a lovely backyard. We will definitely have our dog stay with Stephanie again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Valley City
Our dog had a great time with Rachel and her family. She e received pictures and updates while we were away, and it was great to know that she was so well cared for and moved while we were on vacation. We will be rebooking with Rachel the next time we go out of town, I can’t recommend her enough!

We are so happy with Wookie’s stay. We were worried since it was her first time away as I work from home. So someone is always home with her. However, we couldn’t have been put more at peace with her stay. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our little one.

Shanelee and Zachary were amazing with my energetic lab! I was worried since sometimes he likes to run away to explore, but he was safe in their backyard and we had no incidents! He had so much fun playing with their dogs and always looked so happy in the pictures they sent. When our travel plans changed, they were very flexible with us and took such good care of him. We will definitely book with them the next time we travel!

We had a great experience! Kayla was reliable, communicative, and took wonderful care of my dog, Rita while we were away. I got regular updates and photos, which gave me real peace of mind. It was obvious Rita was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend!

Megan, her family and pups were so sweet to my little fur baby that has NEVER, in the 8 years we had him, spent the night away from our family. We will have to leave him somewhere for 2.5 weeks. We did a test run with a Megan, and the search is already over. She sent us pictures and a video and he looked so happy. He was happy to se us the next day, but we could tell he was hesitating, almost like telling us to stay there or to bring them all home with us, LOL. I can tell they spoiled him as much as we do.

My pup had a great stay with Jacie and I would recommend to anyone. I got photos every day of my dog having fun in the backyard, enjoying the view through the front windows or taking naps on the couch. Jacie was also super nice and accommodating and I am happy to had found her

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
