“We love Liz, she watches our Izzy once a week and sometimes more. We trust her when we go out of town and need an overnight babysitter. Every time we get to Liz’s house Izzy gets soooo excited and it makes me happy to know my puppy is loved and cared for during the day”

“Loved the photos at the end of the day! Poppy was with M.K. M. for 2 consecutive days and she was excited to go back on the second day! Also Poppy went straight to bed when we got home so 10/10 experience.”

“My boys really enjoyed their stay! They normally don’t settle so easy so that tells me that they were very comfortable with you! Thank you so much for taking great care of my boys!”

“We are travelling from Texas to Utah and ski resorts don't allow pets on the ski area so we need some place safe for our fur baby. Gracie did an amazing job and treated our pet as her own. She constantly updates us and that reduces our anxiety. Highly recommended 👌 very professional. She can accommodate unneutered 🐕 pet”

About: *I currently have a 4 year old, neutered male, Border Collie mix* (If booking for 4 days or more, I prefer to bring him with me. If it's less than 4 days I can work with leaving him at home.) I've had dogs in my life since I was about 8 years old. My mom bred our dogs and I would help her. I helped to birth the puppies, feed and wash them, weigh them and track their progress, train and care for them. Since I was 18 I've adopted six dogs. One of them was deaf and blind when I adopted her. I've never been the first home for any of my doggos but I've been the best/most loving final home for all of them. I work part time and have plenty of time to spend with animals. I usually take my dog out for a stretch/potty every couple of hours and we walk at least once a day. I'm constantly looking for new parks and fun places to play. I have a three year old Border Collie mix that gets along well with other dogs and cats. The yard is fenced but there's no doggy door. I have some crates of various sizes if needed. The fur babies are allowed on the bed and all of the furniture at my house. I frequently pet/house sit for a Pitbull mix and she's one of my dogs besties. She has medication and a special diet. I've also frequently had my dad's dogs visit. So my dog is used to both having separate food and sharing in a communal pack. Whenever we pet/house sit we follow their house rules (i.e. - no dogs on the furniture or in the kitchen, etc). I'm trusted with keys to multiple homes and never stop by unless asked to.
“Michelle and her husband were absolutely wonderful with Jack! Michelle was super responsive, listened attentively to an overly anxious dog Momma, and sent tons of pictures. Jack is Diabetic and a little quirky so I’m always anxious to leave him with a new person but we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Their home was very clean and she even took the extra time to pick up anything that Jack could have gotten ahold of and put it out of his reach. We would absolutely recommend Michelle and use her again if we are back in the area.”

About: I own a 7 y/o Shih Tzu/Yorkie, a 3 y/o Shih Tzu, and a 12y/o mini poodle! My family has owned dogs from 8 lbs to 130 lbs! We love all furry friends and accept them as they are, whether they drool, jump, or talk! My dream breed to own is a giant breed (Irish Wolfhound!) but regardless of breed, they’re special to me! I love taking dogs to places they can run around and really enjoy time outside! I have worked as a Medical Assistant, in dog boarding, and as a professional dog groomer! I believe in “Positive Reinforcement” and Fear Free training training methods and like to keep up to date on current training methods for personal use! I am also more than happy to help with bath time or reinforcing anything you’re working on with them! I love reading about Canine Enrichment activities and I love watching them figure it out. I am passionate about dogs and would love to meet yours! Dog time is my self care time so I love filling my time with dog interaction, walks, and puppy snuggles! I have a grooming salon in my home, and generally am around :) I was exhausted as a little dog owner with every boarding environment being targeted for big dog enjoyment! My environment is meant for the little dogs, and they know it! I keep beds with blankets in every nook and cranny for every type of snuggler. They have access to furniture, and have every variety of space to settle they need! There are a couple open kennels (always open) that my dog don’t care to go near for those who like their den.
“My pup did doggy day care with Nikki, and she exceeded expectations! She sent a wonderful report with a butt load of cute, hilarious and epic photos of my pups stay. Her pup played well with mine so he came home soo tired, which was what I wanted. She even worked with my pup to give him a proper introduction to cats and some other training exercises. It’s funny being on the other side of Rover because I used to board dogs and I put my all into each dog. I know that there are different kinds of “dog sitters”. Nikki is legit and knows how to handle dogs. Highly Recommend.”

“Tea was great!! She took my pup very last minute and was super easy to work with! Bell seemed to have a blast and she even took the pups to the park! Will definitely be bringing my girl back!!”

“Nicki was fantastic! She was able to watch Leo last minute and sent updates throughout the day. When my bf went to pick him up he said Leo was calm and not to excited to see him, which means Leo enjoyed his day. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone and use her again!”

“Xochitl is such a great sitter. My puppy loves her and her doggies. She sends pics & videos throughout the day. She even offered to give mine bath. Great experience. Always willing to give me advice about yorkies (she has one herself) ☺️”

About: Hi, I’m Nakitta! I’m a dependable, caring, and fun-loving pet sitter who knows dogs aren’t “just pets” — they’re family members with big personalities, zoomies, and very important snack schedules. I’m patient, attentive, and great at following routines, so your dog can stay happy, comfortable, and stress-free. I love getting outside for walks, giving plenty of belly rubs, and making sure every dog feels safe and loved. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - West Valley City
Matthew was great with Noodle. I was having a difficult time finding someone that I felt I could trust because Noodle is still in puppy mode a lot of the time and hadn't learned proper social etiquette with other dogs yet. Matthew was willing to take him on, sent lots of pictures showing my young dog was doing fine. I would definitely use Matthew again.

We had an event in Salt Lake and dropped our pup here to play for the afternoon, she loved it! They sent cutie pictures of her playing and they even fed her because we had a change of plans and ended up picking her up later than we planned. Highly recommend! Our dog is happy and tired :)

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your West Valley City commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
