“This was our first experience leaving our dog anywhere other than with family. We could not have asked for a better experience! Sarah was so friendly and great with our dog! We are very great full for how accommodating she was and how she kept in contact with us while we were away! Thank you Sarah!!!!!”

“Toni was fantastic! She watched my 10 week old pitbull puppy for a week and she sent me pictures daily! My puppy came home happy and healthy and was given plenty of love and affection! Would highly recommend Toni!”

“Leah and James were the best Rover experience we have ever had! They were EXTREMELY accommodating. They sent us photos, videos, and updates every single day! They were kind and amazing communicators! We would use them again and again and again!”

“Our Loki was well taken care of while staying with Sydney and her sweet little dog! I can tell that she treated our dog like part of her family and that he was happy and felt safe while there, too. He was acting just like himself when I went to get him! Sydney sent pictures periodically throughout our trip. It was really great to see that Loki was doing well. I would highly recommend Sydney's place for you pup.”

“Lindsey always takes great care of my sweet girl, and sends update pictures daily so I dont miss her as much. Highly recommend her! And her kids are great with my dog too.”

“Sherry accepted my last minute request and kindly answered all my questions. She was quick to respond. She was friendly and calm at drop off and encouraging to Buddy. She sent me pictures and my dog looked happy. Pick up was easy.”

“Elisabeth (Betsy) was great taking care of our dog for a few days this week. She was very responsive communicating back and forth, and really open about what we could expect. She sent a lot of messages and pictures of walks, playing, and caring for our dog. She really seemed to enjoy him, and her dog was very friendly and a playful. I am sure my dog had a wonderful time.”

“I can tell Fitz had a great time. He's a high energy dog who can act out if he's pent up, but he was great when we came back home. He was even tired after our usual walk, so I know he had all the play time he needed with Logan.”

“Jordan came through for me when my sitter had to cancel on me at the last minute. My dog was well taken care of and seemed very happy when I came to pick her up. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!”

“Evette was so good to our dog, and lives in a doggy dreamland with so many friendly neighbors. This was our first time leaving our dog and we would absolutely leave her with Evette again in the future. She was also super flexible with our short notice travel plans, which was a huge relief.”

Alison and her daughter did a wonderful job with Izzy! We did a 6 night boarding with them. They made sure she felt right at home and is fully loved and taken care of. Izzy played and got along with their puppy Bruce. The family updated us with cute pictures and updates on how’s she is doing. We will definitely have to do boarding with them or set up a play date. Thank you for taking care of Izzy. 🥰🥰

Marylynn and her family are amazing dog sitters and I highly recommend them to everyone who wants their dog treated with plenty of walks during the day, special treats, and lots of love. We weren’t sure our dog would want to come home after such a fun time! We also really appreciate that Marylynn sent lots of photos each day of our dog and was flexible with pick/up when our flight home was delayed. Will definitely rebook again!

This was my first time booking with Genny and she took excellent care of my senior pups. I don’t leave them very often, and this is also the first time I’ve left them in the care of someone in their home, that wasn’t my own family. I am very protective of my pups and am very hesitant of improper care for my dachshunds. They have kind of a unique feeding and bedtime routine and she conquered it with ease. I felt comfortable with her and her family when we met before booking! While on my vacation, I felt they were in good hands with her, especially after the first update. She consistently provided me with plenty of photos and text updates, about three times a day, just keeping me in the loop which was a welcome surprise! My pups seemed very happy in her photos and got plenty of their favorite.. sun time. Thank you, Genny, for taking such good care of my pups!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
