“Christina did a fantastic job watching Hank and Milo. She followed my instructions to a tee and I came back to a spotless house and very happy pups. I would definitely hire her again.”

“Betty was the help that I needed to make sure my pups were comfortable at home while I would be away. She kept me informed and was very responsive. She was simply wonderful and I didn’t have to worry about a thing.”
“Anna did a great job with our 7 month old puppy! We were so nervous using a stranger for the first time, but she was very communicative and took such good care of him. We appreciated the pictures she sent us for check ins too. Definitely recommend!”
“Heather was awesome, she really went above and beyond for me. Between making sure my rambunctious pup got to day care and my kitty got to the vet for her fluids she didn’t hesitate to help. I highly recommend and look forward to having her stay again.”

“Payton did an amazing job taking care of our dogs. We were kept updated the whole time with messages and photos, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. It was clear there was genuine care and extra effort put into everything, even taking the dogs on hikes. I would absolutely love to book with Payton again and can’t recommend enough.”

“We had such a great experience with Meisha from start to finish! Meisha was so communicative before and during our trip and sent lots of pictures and updates. It felt so good to know that our pets were safe, happy, and cared for while we were away. And Meisha left the house cleaner than we did! We would be thrilled to have Meisha take care of our pets again and highly recommend her!”

“Veronica was so pleasant and caring. Took excellent care of our lab as well as kept our house clean during our two weeks abroad. Even ran the washing machine as well as the dishwasher prior to us coming home. Our lab was super happy. Would trust her in the future if/when we need her again.”

“She was patient with our youngest dog who managed to get very messy twice in our backyard and she took the time to get her all cleaned up despite watching our 3 dogs for the week. 3 dogs can be a handful and she did wonderful.”

“Kaitlyn was amazing! So grateful to have her watch Aspen and Ivy. They got to enjoy the park and many walks and snuggles. She sent pictures of their adventures and was a great communicator. Highly recommend!”

About: I love every dog I come across and you can leave your home knowing your fur baby is well fed, taken care of, and loved! Spending time with animals is something I really enjoy. I love all animals big and small. I love to learn the personality of the dog and become friends in the short time we get to hang out! If they’re grumpy, I’ll give them space or whatever they may need until they are comfortable enough to trust me. If your fur baby is playful from the very beginning, then I’ll give them all the cuddles they want and need. I have experience administering oral medicine, with reactive and special needs dogs. Please reach out if you would like me to care for your beloved pet!
“Christian is a great sitter and consummate professional. He was very responsive and would provide daily if not twice daily updates on how things were going. Would definitely recommend and use his services and experience again!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs & cats my entire life; they are truly my greatest passion. My girl, a Puggle named Bug, was my entire heart and my whole world for nearly 18 years. I had to say goodbye to her a couple of months ago and my heart is still shattered. I would love to take care of your babies the way I took care of my own. I had Bug from when she was a puppy until her very old lady years that required an EXORBITANT amount of specialized care (meds, shots, diapers, medicated baths, etc.) You name it - I’ve dealt with it. Before my girl got sick and I had to give full-time attention to her, I was my friends/family’s go-to pet sitter for their babies. No one will take better, more thorough and loving care of your pets than me. I can’t wait to kiss them and spoil them with love ❤️ And, as a fellow helicopter dog mom, I welcome the pets who come with a 20 page instruction manual, with specifics from everything regarding feeding rituals, to poop/potty specifications! Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns! I was recently laid off, so my schedule is wide open! Also, when I am working, I work fully remote. So, even when my employment situation changes, I will still be home to care for your babies. I have a fully fenced in backyard and a big house with lots of beds, couches and dog beds/blankets! I also have lots of dog toys and just about anything else you can think of for dog/cat care (crates, leashes, bowls, etc.) My boyfriend recently moved in with his dog, Jasper. Jasper is extremely mild mannered and exceptionally well-trained. He is a 45lb Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix. If your pooch does not do well with other dogs, I will be able to keep your babies and Jasper 100% separate thanks to the layout of my home. But if you have a pooch who loves to play, they will get along great with Jasper!
“I just had experience with Katie who stayed at the house and watched the pups! She is great and absolutely no complaints and the pups enjoyed her as well. Definitely recommend!!”

“Stephanie was great! She stayed at home with our crazy doggos and gave them all the attention they needed. Definitely gave us peace of mind while we were away.”

“Michael was an excellent pet sitter. He is friendly, communicative, clean, polite, and responsible. He left my home cleaner than I did, and sent so many photos of my animals. I have two dogs and two cats but he handled the whole crew easily including walks and medications. I'll definitely be hiring him again.”

“We have used Michelle a lot for the care of our two golden doodles. They absolutely love her and I can tell Michelle treats them like her own pups. We can’t recommend her enough.”

“Sophia was amazing!! She was great at keeping me updated while I was on a trip and she even cleaned up a little around before I got home. 12/10 experience and can’t wait to book her for more trips! :)”

Once again, Rachel did amazing caring for our 2 high energy dogs while we were away for the long weekend. She did excellent making sure our dog with a chronic illness was taken care of and supplied endless frisbee time for our other. I highly recommend Rachel!!

I will be rebooking with Robin from here on out - she is absolutely AMAZING. I cannot rave enough about her care for my Great Dane for an entire month while I was gone. She sends detailed updates and pictures and videos, and Delilah (my dog) took to her immediately. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you Robin ❤️

Michelle was amazing! This was her first time housesitting for us, and we would definitely book with her again. She did a wonderful job taking care of our two fairly high maintenance dogs (one requires being hand fed and the other requires being given eyedrops three times a day) and our fairly low maintenance cat. She sent lots of updates and pictures, which kept us from stressing while away.

Michael was so great and attentive to our two girls! He is very friendly and our two cats instantly felt comfortable with him! He gave us plenty of updates while we were away and was able to accommodate a couple of our date changes while away. We highly recommend Michael and look forward to working with him again!!

Liza was a great choice for watching my sweet boy, Banjo! I had a night shift at the hospital, and my dog needed to be able to go the bathroom every few hours. Liza was so prompt in answering my request and was so willing to help me out. She was very gracious bringing my dog out through the night. She went above and beyond with walks around the neighborhood before bed and upon waking up. I would recommend Liza if you want a gentle presence to be with your beloved pet!

Lena was amazing! She took great care of our little angel over our wedding trip and made sure I didn't have any worries so I could focus on being present. She cared for him like I would and we will definitely use her again. The photos and videos kept me so calm and allowed me to actually travel and enjoy it! Absolutely amazing, thank you again Lena!

Cameron was great to work with. We couldn’t get our normal Rover sitter on short notice so we got Cameron when we really were in a bind. My puppy had just been spayed and I couldn’t get out of a few work things that came up, so Cameron stepped in and kept our little border collie puppy well looked after and even gave her meds. It is difficult to keep an energetic border collie puppy calm while healing from a spay surgery and Cameron did great with lots of pics and updates. Would use again!

Meisha is our go-to sitter and always does SUCH an incredible job taking care of our babies! Most recently, she stayed at our apartment to watch our cat and pup for a few days while we were out of town. I always get the cutest photos and updates from Meisha, and you can really tell she spoils them like they are her own ☺️ Really can’t recommend her enough!

We had Spencer house sit for our 4-year-old large-breed guardian pup, and he was fantastic! He kept us updated with regular messages and photos and was always quick to respond. He was patient and understanding of Anna's guardian-breed barking and gave her plenty of love and attention. He took wonderful care of both Anna and our home. We wouldn't hesitate to hire him again!

I’m so happy we found Kinzie! We requested pet care just a day in advance, and she was able to accommodate us. She took great care of our dogs, was very responsive, and incredibly kind throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for reliable pet care!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Midvale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Midvale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Midvale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
