“Betty was absolutely incredible and we feel so lucky to have found her. From getting to know our home and our pup’s personalities, to the sweet updates and thoughtfulness— we are so grateful to have come home to two tired and spoiled dogs. I can’t recommend her enough!”

About: Hi! I'm Sofia, and I'd love to become your dog's new favorite sitter! As a lifelong animal lover, I know that pets are family. When you're away, my goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, happy, loved, and well cared for while giving you complete peace of mind. I'm currently returning to school to earn my master's degree, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of quality time and attention to the pets in my care. Pet sitting is something I genuinely enjoy because it combines my love of animals with spending time outdoors and helping fellow pet owners. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels, as well as small animals like guinea pigs. I take the time to learn each pet's routine so they feel comfortable, secure, and right at home. One of my favorite things to do is explore Utah's beautiful trails. If your dog enjoys adventures, I'd love to take them on dog-friendly hikes or nature walks with your permission. My friendly Shih Tzu, Lucy, often joins us on walks and hikes and loves making new friends. If your dog prefers one-on-one outings or does better without another dog, I'm always happy to accommodate that. Every walk is tailored to your dog's personality, energy level, and your preferences, with safety always coming first. When your pet is with me, you can expect: 🐾 Plenty of love, attention, and playtime 📸 Frequent photo and video updates 🚶 Walks, hikes, and activities tailored to your dog's needs 💊 Medication administration if needed 🍽️ Careful attention to feeding schedules and special instructions ❤️ Patient, positive, and compassionate care My professional background in healthcare administration and education has taught me to be dependable, organized, and an excellent communicator. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether your dog loves adventures, belly rubs, or simply having a companion while you're away, I'll treat them like one of my own. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family member! Feel free to reach out with any questions—I look forward to getting to know you both. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I'm currently returning to school for my master's degree, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to plan my days around the pets I'm caring for. My own Shih Tzu, Lucy, gets daily walks, playtime, and lots of attention, so caring for dogs is already built into my routine. I genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that's neighborhood walks, hikes, or trips to dog-friendly parks. If your dog enjoys adventures, I'm happy to include them (with your permission). I also make time throughout the day for feeding, enrichment, potty breaks, cuddles, and, of course, plenty of photo updates for owners. I believe pets thrive when they have consistency, attention, and exercise, so I make it a priority to provide all three while they're in my care. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, my goal is to make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible by keeping them on their normal routine. I'll follow your instructions for feeding, medications, potty breaks, exercise, and any special needs or preferences. I make sure every pet gets plenty of love, attention, playtime, and mental enrichment throughout the day. If your dog enjoys being active, I'm happy to provide neighborhood walks, nature walks, or dog-friendly hikes with your permission. My friendly Shih Tzu, Lucy, often joins us on walks and loves making new friends, but I'm equally happy to provide one-on-one outings if that's a better fit for your dog. When caring for pets in a client's home, I treat both your pet and your home with the utmost respect. I'll keep your home clean, provide regular updates with photos and videos, and make sure your pet feels safe and loved until you return. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is receiving the same level of care, affection, and attention they would receive from family.
“My wife and I have asked Michelle to house and dog sit several times and she continues to be incredible. We trust her with everything! We just got back into town from a 5 day trip and she cleaned the sheets, towels, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and fridge before she left. We know our dog is in great hands - she sends several updates per day, each with better pictures of our dog than we are able to take.”

“She was patient with our youngest dog who managed to get very messy twice in our backyard and she took the time to get her all cleaned up despite watching our 3 dogs for the week. 3 dogs can be a handful and she did wonderful.”

“We are so happy with Lena! Lena was always quick to respond and always stayed in touch with updates! Our pup Maizie was so settled when we returned home so we knew she must not have felt stressed during our time away which of course is such a relief! We will not hesitate to reach out to Lena the next time we need a sitter!”

“Diana was great! She was super thorough with updates on our pups and sent lots of pictures. She was quick to respond when we checked in on them and always made me feel like they were in good hands. We came home to a clean apartment and very happy dogs. Would definitely book again. Thank you!”

“Emily is fantastic. She made sure all of Kodas needs were met while watching her, including taking her for hikes and trips to the dog park! It’s always reassuring knowing Koda is having fun and getting exercise when I have to travel for work. Emily was easy to communicate with and left the house very tidy. I’ll definitely be utilizing Emily’s services again.”

“Emily is a great professional and the care she provided for Buttercup was everything we needed. Constantly communicating with us, great pictures and videos so we can see how things are going. Respectful with our dog schedule and home. We highly recommend Emily.”

“Cindy was so great with my cats and watching after my place while I was gone for a long weekend! She made time to come over and meet with me for my last minute booking and she sent many pictures throughout the time! So thankful to have her watch the cats!!”

“Aubee was amazing! She was on time, she sent photo updates, she kept us updated on how Kūmo was doing throughout our vacation so we did not have to worry about him. She left the house looking great! She cleaned up after Kūmo in the yard. She even made us cookies. She is the absolute sweetest! I would highly recommend her and plan to use her again as much as she is available. Thanks Aubee!!”

“We have used MacKenzie on two occasions now she is absolutely wonderful, very personable with our little dog Sophie. When we call in or text to check in on how things are going, she gets back to us right away always gives us a good report on how things are going and just makes us feel so comfortable that she’s home taking care of our little dog. She really knows what she is doing. She loves pets and knows how to take very good care of them. I would highly recommend her. You will not be disappointed.”

“Sarah was the best pet sitter ever! Even the dogs loved her so much and she loved them! She stayed with them all the time and she would send us updates and pictures everyday, she would feed them and play with them and on top of all of that we came back to the house even cleaner then how we left it! She even came so early at 6:30 because we asked if she could and she was amazing! Our little puppy isn't the best with new people but he absolutely fell in love with Sarah! I definitely recommend her to anyone if they want a pet sitter i will definitely be booking her the next time I travel!”

“Veronica was very responsive. She had a nice calm presence and made a point to befriend our cats on her first visit. She was a wonderful house and pet sitter. We had many plants that required daily watering, and two cats who love their back yard time. She was great at giving us photos and feedback while we were away. We were pleasantly surprised at how tidy things were when we returned also. I wouldn't hesitate to have Veronica back. I felt our home and pets were very well cared for in our absence.”

About: I love dogs, cats and parrots. I have experience feeding, bathing, walking, playing and caring for friends, neighbors and my own animals. I know how important your fur babies are to you and I would love and treat your pet family as if they were my own. I have had 4 dogs for 12 years and 4 parrots for 25 years. I especially love to interact with animals getting on their level to play and cuddle. I love to walk and would play with them outside as they like. I know food can be so important. One of my strengths is organization and would follow feeding and any other instructions to the letter. I am happy to provide daily updates and pictures to give you peace of mind. Your home will be treated with care and left better than it was found. I work weekends and can spend time everyday with your pets. I am a chef and run my own business so when I am working I can take a break to check on your pets. My evenings are free and I can help your pet keep the routine they are used to. I have a fenced in yard and a fur baby who keeps to himself. There is plenty of space to run and play and also nap.
“Rachel deserves more than 5 stars she is amazing and super caring for our two pups. I love that she always sent updates on them since this was the first time we left them for a long trip! Highly recommend and will definitely use her again! Thank you for taking care of our babies”

“Gaby is a gem! She did SO well with our sweet senior pup, going above and beyond to give her lots of snuggles and attention, sending us frequent updates and cute photos, and taking great care of our house too. She cares deeply about animals and we are grateful she cares for ours too! She came for meet and greets, asked great questions, and noted down all the important details about our dog including medications etc.. We would strongly recommend her to anyone and can’t wait to have her back over to care for our dog again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alpine Gardens
Emily is the BEST!! Our three dogs absolutely love her! She is very attentive, caring, and our pups always have the best time. I would recommend Emily for any dog care services. We have used her multiple times and every experience has been extremely positive.

Christian did a wonderful job taking care of our dog Ollie. He sent pictures daily which was so nice to receive. Ollie is an active dog and he kept him entertained with walks and playing in the backyard. He gave us an update on being cautious about walking him in the middle of the day due to the heat. We came home to a happy dog and a clean home. We will book with him again.
This was our first time using a pet sitter, so we were a bit concerned with what to expect and how it would go, but Bonnie eased all our concerns and made the whole process very easy ! She sat for two of our dogs and one of our cats over the weekend. One of our dogs has high anxiety and can sometimes be leery meeting new people, but he loved Bonnie from the first meet and greet. She handled him perfectly and I think he may have found a new bestie! She sent pictures and updates regularly. We have already booked another weekend with her later this summer. Thanks for your professionalism and care, Bonnie! You made our experience so wonderful!

I almost don’t want to tell anyone how much we LOVED Lauren because she’ll get too busy to sit for us. Lauren was so friendly, took such good care of our house and dogs, and sent updates and photos daily. And the dogs loved her! They snuggled on her every chance they got. Cannot recommend her enough, except for those time periods when we need her, okay?

Elizabeth was great with my dog Beans. I can’t always take her with me because she can be aggressive towards other dogs and Elizabeth did great at making sure beans was well taken care of and walked despite her issue. She sent pictures and updates everyday and was very kind and easy to work with!

Rachel was communicative from first message through a long house sit. She sent daily photos, took great care of our pups and our house while we were away. I would definitely recommend her and hope we able to utilize her services again in the future. We felt lucky to have her while we were away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alpine Gardens walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alpine Gardens maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alpine Gardens choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alpine Gardens. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
