“I just had experience with Katie who stayed at the house and watched the pups! She is great and absolutely no complaints and the pups enjoyed her as well. Definitely recommend!!”

“Trevor was fantastic! He made me feel at ease by sending pictures and video updates. He took great care of both my dogs and spent a lot of time with them. My senior dog who is very shy and cautious with new people even cuddled next to him by the end of his stay. Thanks again Trevor!”

“kirk took care of my dog and home while i was away for a week. he was kind and professional. he sent me updates and pics of my pup every day and was very responsive to my additional texts. when i came home, my dog was happy and my place was spotless! 10/10 would use kirk again and recommend him to friends!”

“Kaitlyn watched Coco and Charlie and I’m honestly someone who doesn’t trust people easily, especially when it comes to my dogs. Both of them need meds and have their own quirks, so it’s not simple. She handled everything so well. I didn’t have to worry or check in constantly, which says a lot for me. They were calm, cared for, and clearly comfortable with her. You can tell she actually pays attention and cares, not just going through the motions. I’d have her watch them again without hesitation!”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life. Not a day has gone by that I've never been around a pet. I even take care of my friend's pets at college when I can! Pet care fits perfectly into my summer routine! I’m free to spend time with your pets, whether it's daily walks, playtime, or just giving them some love and attention. It’s the ideal way for me to enjoy my summer while taking care of your furry friends! I prioritize safety and trust by ensuring a calm, pet-friendly environment. Whether in your home or mine, I make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and secure. I’m attentive to their needs and make sure they feel loved and safe while you’re away.
“Meisha did a wonderful job with our pups! She house-sat for us for a few days. House looks good and the dogs are very happy! She was great about sending pictures and updates. Our dog is really high energy and nothing was destroyed so that says a lot! She was very responsible. Would definitely use her again!”

“Sammy stayed at my house for 4 nights, taking care of my senior cat and energetic dog. She gave them lots of love and attention and made sure to get my dog out for long walks. I felt comfortable with her at my house and will definitely use her again!”

About: Hello my name is Eve! I have been a very big animal lover since I was a little girl always being drawn to the dogs and always finding the dog at other peoples houses. I had a dog for quite a long time and took care of him as best as I could when he was sick with cancer. I constantly hangout with my dog that is now 4 years old, swimming in pools, going on long walks, and giving so many cuddles and scratches. I of course give him treats that are well deserved lol. I also recently just got a puppy i attended to her when she broke her leg as a Young puppy and made sure she was happy and healthy. I also raised her and she is now the cutest 1 year old! I have experience with little and big dogs as well, I'm happy to do whatever it is that makes your dog feel safe and happy. I promise to take care of your animals as well as love them!! I’m currently in school, but luckily it’s all online! So I will be available most days out of the week. Tuesdays-Thursdays are usually the best for me! I sadly am unavailable on the weekends for now. Most days I am available at any time. I have two dogs at home, I feed them and love them every day as well as walk them and play fetch every day! I have a fenced backyard as well as a swimming pool! That my own two pups loveeee to swim in!! I have many toys they can play with as well as a safe neighborhood. My two dogs are friendly and would make your dog feel less anxious. I have a crate that is available if needed
“Christina did a fantastic job watching Hank and Milo. She followed my instructions to a tee and I came back to a spotless house and very happy pups. I would definitely hire her again.”

“Anna is delightful and we are so glad to have found her. Our dogs were comfortable with her immediately She is responsible and a great communicator. She left our home in great shape- above and beyond Definitely 5 stars!”

“Michelle was great! She watched our dog and cat while we were away for the weekend. She was super responsive and prompt and sent a ton of pictures. We will definitely be using her again!”

“We are so happy with Lena! Lena was always quick to respond and always stayed in touch with updates! Our pup Maizie was so settled when we returned home so we knew she must not have felt stressed during our time away which of course is such a relief! We will not hesitate to reach out to Lena the next time we need a sitter!”

“Amy was an absolute life saver and took such great care of our 2 dogs and cat when we went out of town. Our previous sitter canceled on us the night before our flight, and Amy was super responsive, was able to come over for a meet and greet at the drop of a hat, and got along great with everyone. One of our dogs is anxious so this is always something we look for. We are so thankful our holiday worked out and would absolutely work with Amy again. She took great care of our house too, shared photos and checked in with us, and we felt very comfortable with her watching after our pets. Thank you Amy!”

“Kyla is truly the best! She has been watching my dog since she was 3 and I never have to worry about how she’s doing when I’m gone. Kyla really goes out of her way to make her feel comfortable and happy while i am gone. 10/10 high recommend!”

“Teresa is an awesome addition to our Aussie’s heard. She’s stayed with our crew a few day while we traveled, as well as been a daily check that allows us to be away from the house for an extended time. They love it when she comes to visit.”

“If I could give Robin 10 stars I would. Robin took such good care of my dog, followed all of my instructions, and went above and beyond to make him comfortable and happy. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate her efforts, her professionalism, and her genuine, caring nature. I highly recommend Robin.”

About: I have hands on experience caring for dogs through walking, in home sitting, while following routines that help our doggos feel safe. What sets me apart is my reliability, clear communication, and the care I take to understand each dog's individual needs, personality, and comfort level rather than treating visits as rushed check-ins. I intentionally structure my daily and weekly routine around pet care, allowing flexibility for walks, check-ins, and in home sitting while ensuring each dog receives reliable, unrushed attention. When caring for pets in a clients home, I treat both the pet and the space with the same respect I would want someone to show mine. I take time to learn each dog's routine, preferences, and any special instructions so they feel comfortable and secure while away. Safety is always my top priority. I double check doors, gates, leashes, and feeding instructions, and I stay attentive during walks and potty breaks to avoid stressful or unsafe situations. I keep a calm, consistent energy so pets feel at ease, especially those who experience anxiety when their owners are away. I'm mindful of your home environment as well, I keep things clean, follow house rules closely, and leave your space just as I found it (or better). I provide regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can relax knowing they're in good hands. My goal is simple: for your pet to feel safe, cared for, and happy - and for you to feel confident trusting me in your home.
“Betty was awesome! She was very attentive to our dog and his needs. She sent us photos and updates every day, and adhered to our dog’s schedule and routine. She’s a trustworthy & responsible person, and we will definitely book her services again.”

If I could give Robin 10 stars I would. Robin took such good care of my dog, followed all of my instructions, and went above and beyond to make him comfortable and happy. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate her efforts, her professionalism, and her genuine, caring nature. I highly recommend Robin.

Trevor did a fantastic job caring for our older dog and our puppy while we were away. He managed both of their very different needs with ease, followed all of our instructions, gave our puppy’s medication correctly, and kept us updated every day with photos. We came home to two happy, relaxed dogs, and everything was exactly as we had hoped. We highly recommend Trevor to anyone looking for a dependable, responsible, and compassionate dog sitter. We would absolutely trust him to watch our dogs again!

We had a wonderful experience with Sandi! She took excellent care of Maverick and gave us complete peace of mind while away. She was very communicative, kept us updated with messages and photos, and made sure we always knew how he was doing. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she watches. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter, and we would definitely have her watch Maverick again in the future!

Ashlie and Tyson have been amazing with our dog, Gia. They’ve cared for her during overnight/house-sitting weekends and daytime walks, and we always feel completely at ease knowing she’s with them. Gia can be a timid and sensitive dog, but they’ve been so patient, attentive, and loving with her. We always receive thoughtful updates, detailed messages, and the best photos that show how happy and comfortable she is in their care. They’ve also been incredibly respectful of our home and go above and beyond. Every time we return, Gia is relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. We feel so lucky to have found Ashlie and Tyson and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters. They treat Gia like one of their own, and that means everything to us. ❤️🐾

Elizabeth was great with my dog Beans. I can’t always take her with me because she can be aggressive towards other dogs and Elizabeth did great at making sure beans was well taken care of and walked despite her issue. She sent pictures and updates everyday and was very kind and easy to work with!

Meisha did an amazing job watching Pongo! Her communication was 10/10, which gave me so much peace of mind, especially since we were going to be out of service for a few days. We came home to a clean house and a calm, happy dog. She provided lots of updates and was very respectful of Pongo’s initial uncertainty, giving him the space and time to warm up to her at his own pace.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sandy Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sandy Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sandy Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
