“Kirk took great care of our dogs and house while we were out of town. They seemed content upon our return and everything was in order. He communicated well and sent some pics during our trip. Would absolutely hire again!”
“We are always thrilled when Megan is available to watch our cats, and so are our cats! We appreciate the frequent updates and communication from Megan, as it puts us at ease to see pictures of our happy and safe cats. We look forward to many more house sitting visits from Megan!”

“I just had experience with Katie who stayed at the house and watched the pups! She is great and absolutely no complaints and the pups enjoyed her as well. Definitely recommend!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life. Not a day has gone by that I've never been around a pet. I even take care of my friend's pets at college when I can! Pet care fits perfectly into my summer routine! I’m free to spend time with your pets, whether it's daily walks, playtime, or just giving them some love and attention. It’s the ideal way for me to enjoy my summer while taking care of your furry friends! I prioritize safety and trust by ensuring a calm, pet-friendly environment. Whether in your home or mine, I make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and secure. I’m attentive to their needs and make sure they feel loved and safe while you’re away.
“Meisha was booked last minute as a backup for my normal house sitter. I was nervous having my home and doggos watched by someone new for the first time in years but Meisha was fantastic. She clearly took the time to get to know my dogs personalities and bond with them individually. My home was clean & dogs happy when I returned from my trip. Will book again!”

“Bryan is such a wonderful sitter. I had a family emergency and asked if he could house sit day-of, and he went above and beyond to care for my two dogs and condo on such short notice. As always, great communication and follows care instructions very well. I’m so thankful!”

“Kaitlyn watched Coco and Charlie and I’m honestly someone who doesn’t trust people easily, especially when it comes to my dogs. Both of them need meds and have their own quirks, so it’s not simple. She handled everything so well. I didn’t have to worry or check in constantly, which says a lot for me. They were calm, cared for, and clearly comfortable with her. You can tell she actually pays attention and cares, not just going through the motions. I’d have her watch them again without hesitation!”

“Brielle did an amazing job with our 2 XLarge dogs! She went above & beyond with them & they instantly loved her! I would highly recommend Brielle to anyone looking for great house sitting care of your dogs!”

“Ashlie was so great!!! She kept us updated and our dogs really had a good time. She takes amazing photos and really does her best to make sure the dogs feel loved. I would love to recommend her to anyone.”

About: I have always had a special draw towards animals and love to be around them. I have a 12 yo black lab/pointer that I adopted at 4 months and my life revolves around her. I exercise her daily and will usually take my friends dogs with me as well. I am the first person my friends call when they need a dog sitter because they know I will walk them every day and treat them like one of my own. I'm used to having multiple animals around and make sure all of their needs are met. I am in school Monday and Thursday nights, so I am available to hike, play, care, check in, and provide affection and attention all other times. I am dependable and patient and am excited to meet your fur baby! I am in between jobs so I am available every day, all day to provide lots of care and attention and plenty of walks for your loved ones. I prefer going to your home for ease and familiarity. I make sure your pet is given lots of love and attention and plenty of exercise if required.
“Perfect!! Was able to get away with ease and confidence that my furrbabies were in good hands. Received pics of them throughout Michelle's stay and she even did extras as taking out the trash and picking my tomatoes!!! I would highly recommend Rover and Michelle for your pet needs!!”

“Amy was absolutely amazing with my dogs from December 16th to the 27th! She took such great care of them while I was away, constantly keeping me updated with pictures and messages that made me feel so reassured. It was clear my babies were happy, loved, and well cared for. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I will definitely book with Amy again in the future!”

“Kelly stayed with our 2 Westies for a few nights over Thanksgiving. She was great! She sent frequent updates, was responsive to questions, treated the dogs & our home with care. We will definitely use her again!”

I will always make additional time to pet them and make sure they are comfortable and content before I leave. My goal is to make both pets and owners feel relaxed and safe, so I will gladly send you videos and pictures of your pet enjoying their time with me! :)

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Granite
Ashlie & Tyson were absolutely fabulous with our boy Blue. Ashlie was so communicative with us the entire time we were gone, sending us updates and photos, and our boy was so well taken care of and happy when we got back. They also took care of our house and we came home to everything clean and tidy! Will definitely book them again for our next trip!

Zach took excellent care of my mini-Australian labradoodle. He communicated regularly with texts and photos, promptly addressed a brief appetite issue, and took her on walks with updates along the way. He also left my home clean and well cared for. I will happily hire Zach again.

Hannah left our house nice and clean and our dog happy. She was easy to communicate with, flexible, and professional. She gave detailed updates and sent photos and a video. Our dog is very anxious, so seeing her happy and playing was awesome. Definitely will book again!

I had to travel out of town for a last-minute family emergency, and April was able to house sit for me and watch my pup Rune. She was so good with her, gave her tons of exercise and sent me frequent updates/photos. I would gladly recommend April for any dog sitting needs!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Granite walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Granite maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Granite choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
