“Kirk was fantastic! Our pup has some medical needs and we are helicopter parents so we always get a bit nervous leaving him behind when we go on trips. Kirk was so understanding and responsive. He listens and followed all of our directions so we really didn't need to worry about anything. He also communicated so quickly with us and sent us pictures so we could see our little buddy. And our dog clearly loved him. He also left our house so clean, you wouldn't even know he had been living there. 100% would use him again. Thanks Kirk!”

“Anna is delightful and we are so glad to have found her. Our dogs were comfortable with her immediately She is responsible and a great communicator. She left our home in great shape- above and beyond Definitely 5 stars!”

“Sammy stayed at my house for 4 nights, taking care of my senior cat and energetic dog. She gave them lots of love and attention and made sure to get my dog out for long walks. I felt comfortable with her at my house and will definitely use her again!”

“Tiffany did an amazing job for us. She spent the week with my cat and dog and she sent me updates and photos everyday. She was also quick to respond to my texts. I plan to hire her the next time we leave town if she isn’t already booked. You won’t go wrong with having Tiffany stay in your home with your pets.”

“I just had experience with Katie who stayed at the house and watched the pups! She is great and absolutely no complaints and the pups enjoyed her as well. Definitely recommend!!”

“Meisha was amazing!! She kept me in the loop with multiple updates throughout the day and pics on walks and snuggling with my Berner. It was my first time using rover, so I of course was a little nervous, but from the minute I met Meisha my nervousness was put to rest. I would 100% recommend Meisha to watch your furry friend(s) and will without a doubt use her again. Thanks again Meisha!!”

“Kaitlyn watched Coco and Charlie and I’m honestly someone who doesn’t trust people easily, especially when it comes to my dogs. Both of them need meds and have their own quirks, so it’s not simple. She handled everything so well. I didn’t have to worry or check in constantly, which says a lot for me. They were calm, cared for, and clearly comfortable with her. You can tell she actually pays attention and cares, not just going through the motions. I’d have her watch them again without hesitation!”

I wake up early during dog sitting days so that I can ensure your pet gets plenty of time with me. At my house I have 2 chihuahuas we have a doggy door for them to go outside and go potty, they are usually always inside getting love and attention, they free feed. “Michelle watched our little Yorkie and stayed at our home for a week. She met with us beforehand and asked great questions. Michelle kept us updated with reports, photos and videos. We were very comfortable and confident that things were well looked after while we were gone. I highly recommend Michelle and look forward to having her stay at our home again.”

“Ashlie and Tyson have been amazing with our dog, Gia. They’ve cared for her during overnight/house-sitting weekends and daytime walks, and we always feel completely at ease knowing she’s with them. Gia can be a timid and sensitive dog, but they’ve been so patient, attentive, and loving with her. We always receive thoughtful updates, detailed messages, and the best photos that show how happy and comfortable she is in their care. They’ve also been incredibly respectful of our home and go above and beyond. Every time we return, Gia is relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. We feel so lucky to have found Ashlie and Tyson and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters. They treat Gia like one of their own, and that means everything to us. ❤️🐾”

“We loved working with Bryan! Bryan is responsive, fun, caring, and knowledgeable. He sent photos and videos twice per day and kept us up to date on our pup's activities. Bryan house-sat for five days and we felt very comfortable knowing he was watching both our home and our pup! We look forward to working with Bryan again.”

About: Hello my name is Eve! I have been a very big animal lover since I was a little girl always being drawn to the dogs and always finding the dog at other peoples houses. I had a dog for quite a long time and took care of him as best as I could when he was sick with cancer. I constantly hangout with my dog that is now 4 years old, swimming in pools, going on long walks, and giving so many cuddles and scratches. I of course give him treats that are well deserved lol. I also recently just got a puppy i attended to her when she broke her leg as a Young puppy and made sure she was happy and healthy. I also raised her and she is now the cutest 1 year old! I have experience with little and big dogs as well, I'm happy to do whatever it is that makes your dog feel safe and happy. I promise to take care of your animals as well as love them!! I’m currently in school, but luckily it’s all online! So I will be available most days out of the week. Tuesdays-Thursdays are usually the best for me! I sadly am unavailable on the weekends for now. Most days I am available at any time. I have two dogs at home, I feed them and love them every day as well as walk them and play fetch every day! I have a fenced backyard as well as a swimming pool! That my own two pups loveeee to swim in!! I have many toys they can play with as well as a safe neighborhood. My two dogs are friendly and would make your dog feel less anxious. I have a crate that is available if needed
“Christian is a great sitter and consummate professional. He was very responsive and would provide daily if not twice daily updates on how things were going. Would definitely recommend and use his services and experience again!”

About: For your first time booking, you can get $20 off for using my link! https://www.rover.com/sit/maynel84964 We are a pet loving family. My kids are always asking to help out. I've had all kinds of pets throughout my life, besides dogs I've had a cat, ferrets, cockatiel, lovebirds, fish, am Amazon parrot and rabbits. I'm always trying to save baby birds I've found on my yard. We love watching your fur babies for either a day, overnight or several days and getting to know them. My kids always ask about them and have learned so much. We love it so much when they come back. They become family to us and we are so excited to meet more. My husband works from home and I work part-time so your pups get snuggles all day long. Either in the morning or evening we go on long walks. We have a 1/4 acre property with a huge backyard that is connected to the front so your fur baby can run around on it freely. We watch 3 dogs max because we love giving them one-on-one attention. If you prefer your dog be the only one, we can make arrangements. We have no problem with that. We have baby/pet gates in case we get a very playful dog and one that wants to keep it to themselves.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandy
Ashlie & Tyson were absolutely fabulous with our boy Blue. Ashlie was so communicative with us the entire time we were gone, sending us updates and photos, and our boy was so well taken care of and happy when we got back. They also took care of our house and we came home to everything clean and tidy! Will definitely book them again for our next trip!

Dylan is fantastic! Daisy normally takes several days to warm up to a new sitter — she'll hide out in our room and barely eat or drink during that adjustment period. That wasn't the case at all with Dylan. She was completely at home with him from day one, and it was so nice getting pictures of her being her normal, happy self so early on. While we were away, Daisy wasn't stressed, and there wasn't a single accident in the house. Since we've been back, she's been totally herself — no clinginess, no signs of anxiety, nothing to work through. On top of all that, the house looked great when we got home, and Dylan was communicative and easy to work with the whole time. We'd recommend him without hesitation and will definitely be booking him again!

If I could give Robin 10 stars I would. Robin took such good care of my dog, followed all of my instructions, and went above and beyond to make him comfortable and happy. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate her efforts, her professionalism, and her genuine, caring nature. I highly recommend Robin.

Trevor did a fantastic job caring for our older dog and our puppy while we were away. He managed both of their very different needs with ease, followed all of our instructions, gave our puppy’s medication correctly, and kept us updated every day with photos. We came home to two happy, relaxed dogs, and everything was exactly as we had hoped. We highly recommend Trevor to anyone looking for a dependable, responsible, and compassionate dog sitter. We would absolutely trust him to watch our dogs again!

Meisha did an amazing job watching Pongo! Her communication was 10/10, which gave me so much peace of mind, especially since we were going to be out of service for a few days. We came home to a clean house and a calm, happy dog. She provided lots of updates and was very respectful of Pongo’s initial uncertainty, giving him the space and time to warm up to her at his own pace.

Eyslee did an amazing job taking care of our pets this week! She provided regular updates and sent plenty of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog and cat looked so happy and comfy with her. We’ll definitely be reaching out to Eyslee again in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sandy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sandy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sandy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sandy. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
