Pet care experience

Tell your dog I said hi!

I have had dogs my whole life! From golden retrievers to heelers, from puppies to dogs in their golden years. I have experience potty training, administering medication, clicker training, I have dealt with dogs with some behavior issues, dogs who are shy and scared, dogs with diet restrictions, etc. I am also very comfortable in the outdoors and believe the best hiking buddies have four legs. I’m a dog girlie through and through! Because there are already two dogs in our house, I prefer only hosting one dog, but am open to hosting two on a short term basis.

Kelly was great. I have a senior border collie and she took the time to learn her quirks and make her comfortable. Kelly also made sure to play with my cats each visit and give them attention. Would definitely book with her again.

Kelly is the best!! She is so good with Saka and knows how to handle his crazy puppy energy. We couldn’t be happier with her service and are grateful she loves Saka as much as he loves her.

Kelly has helped me out with my dog (an intact, ~75lb, incredibly high prey drive, fetch obsessed, 2.5 year old golden retriever) and cat (a timid, nervous, slow to warm up to new people, 4 year old black cat) multiple times! She is incredibly professional, thorough, and responsive; I completely trust her in caring for my very special pets! She has truly gone above and beyond for my animals. Countless prior sitters reported never seeing my cat, or maybe being watched by him from another room only for him to run away at any movement. He does best with gentle people who respect his timeline and let him come to them when he’s ready. Kelly has watched him multiple times and took the time for him to grow to trust her and now he’s excited when he sees her! Kelly first watched my dog when I unexpectedly had to go out town shortly after getting him from the breeder. I was so nervous to leave my young puppy with anyone, but Kelly did an amazing job in caring for him! Since then Kelly has cared for him multiple times, at different levels of maturity and size! He is a large dog and surprisingly strong with an intense prey drive that needs to be kept in mind throughout the day in general, but especially on walks and in public spaces. I don’t trust most people to care for him or to be able to manage any surprises (birds, squirrels, tennis balls, etc.) that might be encountered on a walk or in other public places, but Kelly is one of the few people who I can trust him with. She has done amazingly well with him and it’s so reassuring to know that he is being well cared for when I am out of town or need other help. I am so thankful for Kelly and giving me peace of mind that my pets are being well cared for and loved. I can’t recommend her enough!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I work a typical 9-5, however I work some days in office and some days from home. My office also permits pets and is very dog friendly. We typically have at least three dogs in the office daily. I also have my own private office with a door should pooch need its own space. After/before work, I live in close proximity to the Wasatch and multiple parks, so I love getting out for a walk/run that a dog could easily accompany me on. Weekends are for outdoor adventures. Dogs are already a part of my schedule, so your pooch should fit in seamlessly :)

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced yard with doggy door access, hardwood floors, limited stairs, and a private office as needed. I also two super friendly dogs of my own: one male (senior dog, very relaxed) and one female (4 years old, loves to play). Both are very accustomed to other dogs in the home for extended or short stays. I have one cat who is indifferent to dogs, however if your dog is a high prey drive breed I will want to address that in more detail with you. All animals have access to fresh flowing water direct from our fridge 24/7, constant backyard access, as well as walks, fetch, and cuddles and kisses.

Pets

A typical day

I have typical walking routes that we have customized to accommodate for our senior dog. I then have supplemental walks, hikes, or trail runs for our more high energy dog. I work in an extremely dog friendly office, so one to two dogs are accompanying me to work every day. They get play time with other dogs, attention from coworkers, walks around the block, a private area for potty breaks, and I have my own office in case dogs are ever feeling shy or need a nap. After work, the dogs get some off leash time (if allowed) at one of the parks by my house, or they join me for a round of some frisbee golf. In the evening, they can found cuddling with me on the couch or napping in a quiet corner.
