I have formerly volunteered with the SPCA and dog sat periodically for 10 years— on top of caring for my own pets ! As an animal care professional, I have started every day with routine animal husbandry for a variety of animals; I have cared for mammals, reptiles, and invertebrates for over five years. In my home life, I have lived with cats and dogs. Currently, I only have a cat at home and I keep a feeding and cleaning daily routine. When caring for pets in your home, or walking pets, I aim to provide an enrichment and exercise focused care practice. Enrichment is a fundamental need of all animals and I believe in equally caring for their mental and physical needs. While walking pets, I walk with them at their pace and am happy to implement general training practices such as the focus command. While watching pets for an extended period, I prioritize meeting their needs on their regular routine and frequency/intensity so as not to disrupt their regular behaviors and needs.

Mallory was the best choice for our pets! Having two dogs and two cats, it’s not always easy to find the right person to take care of them and we are new to Richmond. She spent the night wit them, making them feel comfortable and keeping us posted via texts and pictures. Our pets loved her, had no issues and she was respectful of our home. She also met us a couple times before the actual stay so that one of our dogs could get familiar with her. Couldn’t recommend her enough, you can tell she actually enjoys spending time with them and cares for their well-being!
Nina was absolutely wonderful at caring for my pups while I was away for work. They got to keep their general routine and her photos showed me they were up to their favorite things—walks, snoozing, getting pets. I loved the updates I got and would be lucky to book Nina again!
I adopted Gobi in May and this was our first time away from him. Emily was super great and from her updates it seems like Gobi had a great time! We could not have asked for a better house-sitting experience than with Ellie. Her communication was top-notch before, during, and after her stay which gave us peace of mind when leaving our senior kitty with health issues and our dog, who gets nervous whenever we're gone overnight. Lots of pictures and updates. She also did a wonderful job keeping our house in order, which is much appreciated when coming home after several days away. If we need pet sitting again, Ellie will definitely be at the top of the list. We highly recommend her!
I had my catsitting plans fall through the day before my trip(!) and contacted Angela here on Rover. Angela was able to come visit my apartment and meet the cats day-of.
