“Michelle did a wonderful job watching our boy Remy! He can be very shy and nervous in new environments but Michelle made him feel right at home. Loved getting the updates and photos while we were out of town. Highly recommend and will book again :)”

“Matt’s place is my girls favorite place! They get the backyard, the cozy home, and all the friends they could hope for!! They don’t want to come home! Thanks for taking such great care of my crazy girls!”

“Michaela was AMAZING! So sweet and attentive to Violet, and sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. She administered Violet’s medications and special food three times a day with no issues and made everything feel effortless. Michaela was also very easy to schedule with and super responsive with communication. We’re so grateful to have found her and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Julie is awesome! She went way above and beyond what I expected and made huge efforts to make Ginger (my high-energy Harrier) comfortable in her home. I love that she used positive reinforcement to keep Ginger inline instead of negative feedback. Ginger even escaped from her house and thank goodness Julie was able to call her back. Julie sent tons of updates via video and pictures keeping me well informed of everything going on during her stay. Ginger had ZERO separation anxiety when I picked her up and brought her back to my house. She normally has very extreme separation anxiety and I was out of town for a long time, so this was a HUGE relief for me (and Ginger I imagine as well!) Having Ginger stay in a loving home environment was so much better for her than the typical dog boarding environments. I feel like I picked up Ginger from an extended sleepover, not an exity filled environment typical to boarding. I highly recommend Julie to watch your pet!!! Your little one will feel so loved and welcomed. Julie is awesome!!!”

“Myrna was great with our dog Archie!! She's very experienced with watching dogs and her house seems like a great environment for dogs to have a great time. I'd highly recommend her!”

“Libby was a lifesaver for us. She took care of our geriatric Golden for three days while we were away, then stepped up for an additional four days at the last moment due a a medical emergency, even buying addition food and supplements as needed. She is clearly a dog lover, and our Golden was very comfortable and well cared for with her and her two dogs. Excellent communication and lots of photos completely set our minds at ease at a time when we didn’t need any additional worries. We even got a thorough report-card and little polaroid of our Golden when we picked her up. I can’t say enough good things about Libby. Your dog would be very lucky to have her as a sitter.”
“My pup had a great time with Jesse and his dogs! He got lots of exercise and was a happy boy when we picked him up. Jesse has very prompt and helpful communication. Will book again!”

“My girl tends to be very nervous and scared around new people and environments and she has never been left with anyone before so of course I was worried with how everything would go. Cyndi made my dog feel so at ease and sent me so many updates my girl was right at home within an hour. I was so happy! Bailey will be back soon!”

“Aaren & Jordon are truly wonderful puppy sitters! Throughout my pup’s stay with them, I received multiple updates during the day of the fun activities they were getting into. We were put at ease and loved to see our girl so happy while we were apart! We are thankful for them for welcoming our pup into their home with open arms.”

“Jeff was absolutely fantastic with Zephyr and it definitely was clear that zeph had a great time! Jeff was very communicative and spent plenty of time to get to know both me and Zeph on a meet and greet prior to our stay. He sent plenty of pictures and updates and catered to zephyrs routine which I'm so beyond grateful for! Zeph will absolutely be visiting his now Uncle Jeff again soon! Thank you so much for being so great with Zephyr!!!”
“Amy took such great care of my dog, Lola. She sent pictures everyday and gave me updates on her to let me know how she was doing. This is my first time using a sitter while on vacation and I am more than pleased. My dog is 14 years old so I worry about how she’ll do when I am out of town. Amy was so sweet with her! I”

“Alice came home from a long stay happy, relaxed, and waggy. Grateful to Ross and Ava for their thoughtful care, communication, flexibility, and laid back orientation. We (and by we, I do mean Alice…) will be back!”

“My dog had an excellent stay with Hilary! I was very happy with the care and attention my dog received and I will definitely book with Hilary again if she's available. Hilary sent the best pics of my dog and she took him to the doggy park as well. She was very careful and thorough with my care instructions and I highly appreciate this. Thanks so much!”
“Amy was very accommodating for Birdie’s weekend stay. I received regular updates and pictures of Birdie doing her favorite things - cuddling on the couch and playing fetch in the backyard. I would definitely have Birdie stay with Amy again in the future!”

“Raye is great! My dogs has stayed with her multiple times and each time I feel as though my dog is taken care of, loved, and has so much fun with her! She’s flexible with scheduling and communicates very well! No complaints about her!”

“Carolina was amazing! She just watched my dog for the first time over a long weekend. I usually am hesitant leaving her with new people but she sent me plenty of updates right away and continued them throughout the stay. She walked them a ton, took them to run in a little park and gave Hazy even a nail trim because he nail was getting caught. I have nothing but good things to say and will be booking again for sure!”

“Amanda was the greatest puppy sitter while we were out of town for a week. We looked forward to her texts with photos and videos every day. My 2 had a great time with her 2 ❤️ We will definitely have Amanda watch our babies again. Thank you!!”

“Le’Quitta and family took very good care of Boss. He was such a happy boy being with them. Thank you! She is our repeat sitter and always does a great job!”

“Nicole was fantastic. She kept me updated on what was going on and was great with my dog — and her dog, Tank, was a very patient and friendly host! I’d absolutely work with her again.”

Excellent experience leaving my two small dogs with Mich (and Milo). My dogs felt at home right away. Mich's house is beautiful and dog-friendly and has a nice fenced in back yard. Milo is super sweet and was very gentle around my small dogs. I will definitely be booking with Mich again!
Ross and Ava are fabulous sitters! This was my dog’s first time staying with them and their sweet dog, George, and I was wondering if Reggie would want to come home with me after being taken care of so well! 😊 Ross & Ava were great with providing updates and also being mindful of the heat for walks. Finding a sitter can be such a stressful process but Ross & Ava were great with coordinating a meet and greet beforehand and putting my mind at ease. Your pet will be in great hands!

Thank you so much, Michaela, for taking such a good care of Max. We really appreciate your updates and pictures. By your words, we could really feel Max had a great time! It’s very clear how much you love animals! Max and I would love for you to take care of I’m again! 🥰

Allison is the best! This is the second time we’ve used her and she’s nothing short of wonderful. She lives on our baby like they’re her own and she updated us so consistently that we felt like he was with us. I’ve used sooo many dogsitters in the past having had dogs my whole life & none compare to her level of service !

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
