About: I have three dogs and two cats back home, all of whom typically fall under my care. I have experience dog, cat, and housesitting in both my hometown (Harrisonburg) and here in Richmond. I also volunteer at the Richmond SPCA for general socialization and cleanliness. I love animals dearly, but my roommates don’t want any pets in the apartment, so any help I can provide will also help me ;-) I’m a student at VCU with a solid course load, but a lot of free time in evenings, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I have a car and time between classes to let your animals out, take them on walks, or just check up on them. I rely heavily on your personal pet care instructions. I believe you care deeply for your animals and you know them best. I will keep areas clean and locked up, so you’ll barely know I was there!
“Teresa was excellent with my large, often anxious, cat Sherlock. Upon my return I found a happy Sherlock with none of the usual stress symptoms. Teresa also communicated frequently and sent photos of all the snuggles and other antics Sherlock got up to each day. It was great to see my cat happy while I was away!”

“Kacey was so great with Rosie! She made sure she had everything she needed and took lots of photos for us. Definitely recommend her for all your pets!”

“Korri was awesome! She did drop in visits for our two cats while we were gone and she sent pictures daily. The cats really seemed to warm up to her so that relieving. She was super responsive and really made me feel comfortable from the beginning. I will definitely use her in the future and I highly recommend.”
About: My partner and I bring over 10 years of dog care experience and 5+ years managing a stable multi-dog group. We carefully watch body language, work to prevent issues early, and keep feeding routines steady so each dog feels comfortable, safe, and well cared for. We’re comfortable working with multi-dog households, different energy levels, and group dynamics. Our focus is creating a safe, structured, and positive environment where dogs can socialize, play, and settle comfortably. My specialty is organization and structure, my partner specializes in socialization and behavioral management. Pet care is part of our daily life. Someone is home throughout the day. We organize our schedule around the dogs in our care so they receive consistent supervision, play, and individual attention. We have a fenced backyard and fenced front yard, giving dogs safe space to move, explore, and play. Inside we provide a dedicated dog room and crates for dogs of all sizes, creating a comfortable and secure place for them to rest when needed. Dogs are thoughtfully grouped by temperament, with attention to proper rest rotation and consistent feeding routines to support balance and comfort. Whether in our home or a client’s home, we focus on safety, supervision, and each dog’s individual needs. We follow established routines, maintain a steady and secure environment, and make sure every dog feels comfortable, cared for, and at ease.
“Elijah was fantastic with our cat, Lynx. He was great with communicating and following our instructions. Elijah showed genuine care for Lynx and we will definitely be asking him to be our pet sitter in the future.”

“Danielle did an excellent job with Otis, kept me updated with pics and videos from her visits. He's not always the quickest to warm up but seemed to take to her on her first visit! Came home to a happy, healthy boy. Would definitely book her to look after him again!”

“Abby was so wonderful and considerate while watching our cat. She went above and beyond to make sure her needs were met while also taking care of the house. We are glad to have found her.”
“Briauna has been great with our two cats! She has even been able to get our shy cat out to play, and sends great pictures so we know everyone is having a great time!”

“Haley gave detailed reports and took great care of my cats! They are a little high maintenance and one has a few health issues and requires daily medicine, Haley had no complaints followed every instruction perfectly.”

“Robin has been wonderful! One of our cats , that goes in and out, was not home yet and Robin spent extra time and energy to lure her back in. Really appreciate that extra concern for our pets.”

About: A life-long cat and dog owner, I have been dog walking since my freshman year of high school. After 4 years of that, I progressed to house and pet sitting and have had many experiences doing so throughout college. Following my college graduation in 2025 and while I am in graduate school at VCU, I am looking to help out any families who need someone to look after their fur babies, whether for a weekend away or a daily walk while they’re at work! Reach out if you need someone! I am a grad student at VCU and expect to have pretty free weekends and scattered availability otherwise! Happy to figure out a plan that works for you. I will give lots of attention to your pets and am a strict instruction-follower! I will be sure to adhere to any schedule you usually use to make the transition as easy as possible for your pet while you’re gone.
The median cost per visit for dog sitting in Richmond is $20

Gabriel was awesome to work with! He was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. Most importantly, he was great with our anxious dog and even helped care for our home by watering plants and checking the mail. I cannot recommend him enough! Anyone who books with him should consider themselves luck. We’ll definitely book with him again

Makenzie was able to help us out last minute, and we’re so grateful! She took such great care of our baby, and Bella had so much fun with her. 🐶❤️ Makenzie communicated very well and sent us lots of pictures and videos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Thank you so much, Makenzie! We will definitely use her again! Highly recommend!

Jillian was excellent with our pets! She came over beforehand to meet our dog and cat and our usually anxious dog was immediately happy and comfortable around her. While we were away she sent us plenty of pictures of our girls looking happy and adorable 💕 She also shared details of their progress and based on a picture she shared I saw her giving cuddles with our very affectionate velcro dog. I would absolutely choose her again! She was great!

Kirby has dropped in on Maisie twice now, and we couldn’t be happier with her! ❤️ She came to our rescue when someone unexpectedly canceled while we were out of the country on vacation, and then again yesterday when soemthing came up last-minute and we needed someone to let Maisie out during the day. Both times, Kirby was incredibly kind and willing to help on short notice. Most importantly, she is so sweet with Maisie! Maisie absolutely loves her visits from Kirby, which makes me feel so much better knowing she’s in good hands while we’re away. We’ll definitely be reaching out to Kirby again whenever we need someone to drop in on our girl! 🐾

Avery took amazing care of Kali these past 6 months i've been in Richmond for work, we will definitely miss her! It can be hard to trust someone with your pet when traveling but i'm so happy I found her. She's amazing at communicating and was always flexible with work changing schedules at times. Thank you so much 🩷

Eliza did a great job walking Teddy! She was on time and took photos. I can tell she is comfortable with dogs and in tune with their needs. Teddy was excited to walk with her and was a happy dog when he came home! I will definitely be hiring her again for more walks.

Repeat customer of Celeste's and I wouldn't hesitate to book her again, she's thoughtful, reliable and it's obvious she genuinely cares for the animals she watches. My doggie loves her! And knowing my dog is happy and excited to see her gives me complete peace of mind. I’m very grateful for Celeste ;)

We love having Brittany care for Ember and Maggie! She’s always prompt, sends great photo updates, and is incredibly reliable and accommodating whenever we need her. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing our girls are in such caring hands. We highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
