“Taylor did an amazing job taking care of my cat and dog. Both pets got played with, taken care of, etc. Taylor also took my last minute request (which was awesome). If I need to leave town again I'm planning ahead so Taylor is available!”

“Chynna was so wonderful with our senior Bostons I felt like she looked after them like they were her own. I really appreciated all the photo updates and the extra attention she gave them while we were away! We will definitely have her watch our pups again 💯🧡”

“Meghan is great!! She helped us out last minute and took great care of our pets. She was communicative, thorough, and most importantly, kind to our pets, & we could enjoy our time away without worrying how they were doing. Highly recommend :)”
“We are so happy that Jasmine was able to accommodate Roger when switching from boarding to drop ins! She made sure he had a lot of enrichment, and I he will be excited to go back to boarding during his next adventure to reunite with his doggy friends!”

About: Please ask to see my Trusted HouseSitter profile for additional reviews and information! I provide pet care in Richmond and Charlottesville and the surrounding areas, though I am also happy to travel to other states with advanced notice. I have a breadth of experience caring for my former pets and my home, as well as house and pet sitting for friends and for my clients. I grew up on a farm and cared for goats, horses, cows, dogs, cats, sheep, and poultry. I make an excellent house/petsitter due to my experience with and love for animals and my tidy and loving personality! ** I charge $45 / night for 1-6 night house stays, but have a sliding scale for longer sits (negotiable at the time of request). I am open to traveling farther distances for 1+ week sits. I am attending VCU for my MSW M-F from 8-4, so I have limited availability for midday potty breaks/check-ins during the week, but I have open availability most evenings and weekends. For boarding requests, my partner works from my home and is available to offer potty breaks/check-ins for pets while I’m at school. I’m happy with staying overnight for housesitting or sharing my home for boarding! I have the utmost care and respect for my clients pets and homes and treat them as if they were my own. I make sure to communicate expectations as best as possible to make sure we’re all on the same page.
“This was my first time using Rover and having someone watch our Frenchie, Nova, while we were out in Nassau, Bahamas for a week and Kayley was amazing! We were a little nervous at first, but she made us feel so comfortable with her consistent updates, photos, and care. She took Nova on long walks, gave her lots of playtime and attention, and made sure she was safe and happy every day. You can tell she genuinely loves animals. I’d highly recommend Kayley to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and kind to care for their pet!”

“Cynthia was a great pup-sitter, and kept me well informed with pictures and updates! Sebastian tends to be anxious and he looked like he didn’t miss a beat of belly rubs, cuddles, walks and attention. She communicated all needs and changes in behavior during my time away! She was a great sitter!”

“Robin is simply the best! She is such a lovely, sweet, and caring person, and I can tell my cat feels safe and happy when he's in her care! I will rebook with her again and again. <3”

“Amazing communication and so sweet with my pup. She sent the cutest photos and I plan on continuing to use Maggie for all services!! 10/10 would recommend”

About: I've grown up with pets and was practically raised with my parent's first child, our dog Rascal. I adopt senior and special needs dogs and love giving them a safe haven in their later years. I love to walk my own dog, Wilbur and would treat your pet like my own. I'm currently available on weekends and work from home on Friday so I have the flexiblity to provide daytime potty breaks if needed. I have reliable transportation and am eager to provide care for your fur babies. I have a fenced in yard, and a dog and cat who would welcome meeting new friends. I also have room to create your pet if needed.
About: Hi my name is Joyce and I love working with animals as I have many animals of my own. I have a pup, a baby hamster, a turtle and a school of fish. I love animals and I treat them like they are my children. My skills are walking my pup (this includes a nice walk, and picking up their feces with a plastic bag), bathing them when needed, feeding them and playing with them. I make sure my fish and turtle are fed and their tanks are cleaned and up to date. I also make sure my hamster is fed and his cage is cleaned and up to date. All other animals are treated the same with lots of loyalty, much respect and lots of love. I’m currently working part-time on the weekends, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups and show them all the attention they need! I Have two friendly pups that will keep your fur baby company! But if your dog don’t get along with other dogs I can keep them separated to make your fur baby is more comfortable. I’m currently working part-time. So I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pups and give them all the attention they need!! :) :) I have a nice size back yard and I also got a pup of my own that can keep your fur baby company! She’s very playful and If needed I can easily crate her.

Ash took great care of Ellie for me! It is such a comfort to know I can have someone like her come to the house to take care of my fur baby so that she can stay in her environment when I travel for work. I would highly recommend having Ash care for your pet and would definitely book her again!

Meghan was fantastic ans so sweet with our dog, Balor. We have experienced loss in our household and our two older dogs passed away this year, leaving Balor sad and confused and nervous. Meghan was so compassionate and gentle and patient with him. She even sang to him!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
