I pay keen attention to their needs, wait patiently for pets to trust me, and show up exactly when I say I will. I'm a law student heading into my second year of school and I have flexibility this summer for regular visits or last-minute help. I've spent years caring for dogs and cats for family, friends, and new clients and I'm comfortable with all kinds of personalities. I pay close attention to each animal's cues, take the time to build genuine trust, and am someone you can count on — on time, every time. While I don't have pets of my own right now, I'm surrounded by them constantly and there is honestly nowhere I'd rather be. My schedule is flexible. If it works for you, it works for me. Above all else, I believe communication and timeliness are everything. You'll always hear from me promptly, whether it is confirming a booking, giving an update mid-visit, or letting you know about anything unexpected. No guessing, no chasing me down, just reliable, responsive care you can count on. When I'm in your home, your pet's comfort and routine come first. I follow your instructions closely including feeding schedules, walking routes, any quirks or preferences because familiarity and consistency are what keep animals calm and happy in their parents absence. I treat every home with the same care and respect I'd want shown in my own, and I'm always in close communication so you're never left wondering how things are going. Further, I know that inviting someone new into your home and trusting them with your pets is a big deal, please be assured I'm direct, honest, and an open book.

I also have a reliable personal car so I can travel to homes during my lunch break, ensuring that pets are taken care of throughout the day I visit homes often and send updates and pictures to families, ensuring that everyone sees their fur baby often. Litter boxes and water bowls are cleaned daily. While home owners are away, I also make sure to bring in any mail and anything else that shows up during my stay.

“Mark was excellent with my 2 dogs and 3 cats! My dogs took to him the very first time meeting him which is very unusual as one is a very skittish mini Australian shepherd especially around men, but she immediately went right to him. Mark updated us with each visit and responded quickly to all texts. He really seemed to enjoy being around our gang and really spoiled everyone thoroughly while we were away. I actually believe that the dogs were a bit disappointed when we arrived home as they were hoping for some more loving from Mark! About: I have experience with “basic training” meaning sit, paw, wait at door to potty, wait to eat unless given approval (meaning not to rush to eat and wait for me to put food in the bowl). I have grown up with dogs my whole life and I have loved and cared for every single one of them until they have passed away from cancer or natural causes. I have 2 pups currently that I have rescued one from abuse and one from the animal shelter. If I could have more animals I definitely would but it is not possible for me (it could be if my husband approved lol). Pet care fits into my daily or weekly routine because I am currently 2 month postpartum and have become a stay at home mom. I would love to be able to help take care of animals while pet parents are going on vacation or have to work long excessive hours or just in general need of help when needed. I have a fenced in yard. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats currently with one recently passing away a year ago from a virus that didn’t show up until she was 2 years old (genetic). My cats have one cat litter box (automatic one) and it cleanse itself, however it needs a deep cleaning once a month or every other month. I teach my 2 pups how to sit, give paw, and wait for my command to start eating and go to door when needing to go potty.

About: Not only have I owned and cared for dogs and cats my entire life, I've also fostered at the Richmond SPCA, RACC, and Sanctuary Rescue for a cumulative 13+ years. I'm highly experienced in animal behavior, nutrition, and medical needs. I do know animal CPR and I have no issue administering meds. I love animals and I am extremely familiar with their behavior. Please contact me to care for your pets so you can be stress free! I work from home which allows me to make my own hours and I can drop in any time past 9am. I am also used to pets with medical issues and can come over whenever needed to issue medicine. I keep a tidy house with many rescue cats and dogs. We have numerous litter boxes that are scooped or cleaned daily. People who come to my house are always shocked that I have cats. My dogs are kept as part of the family and have a large back yard to run around in.

About: Hi there! I’ve cared for all kinds of pets—dogs, cats, guinea pigs, gerbils, bunnies, fish, and even a bearded dragon! No matter the species, I love getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel comfortable and loved while their family is away. In middle and high school, I spent three summers interning at a local veterinary clinic, where I gained hands-on experience with animal care. Since then, I’ve completed courses in animal welfare and pet first aid, so you can feel confident your pets are in safe hands. At home, my dog Bonsai participates in Duke University’s Canine Cognition Center studies. Training her in tricks and agility has taught me so much about patience, positive reinforcement, and how to keep pets mentally and physically engaged. Whether it’s cuddles on the couch, playtime in the yard, or sticking to a feeding/medication routine, I’ll care for your pets like they’re my own. I’d love the chance to meet your furry family member! I have a flexible schedule and am available most weekdays and weekends for walks, drop-ins, and overnight care. I do have a couple of class/work commitments during the week, but outside of those I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine. About: I’ve been pet sitting for several years and have always had a dog in my house since I was 4. I even volunteer at the SPCA in my free time at college. I know how to safely walk, play, and take care of a dog. I’m working part-time this summer, so I will be free many days and would love to help you out! I only work at night so most days I will be completely free. I know how to handle dogs on a leash and how to care for them safely and effectively. I’ve always had a dog of my own so I have lots of experience in ensuring their safety at all times.
