“Kim was so great! Visits were consistent every day (which I know my cats appreciated), and many of the daily pictures she sent are so good I could frame them! I really enjoyed working with Kim and look forward to calling on her again the next time we’re out of town.”

“Wesley is so wonderful. I have a very skittish Mastiff and Wesley went out of his way to bond with him. He took the best care of both my dogs. He was prompt and accommodating. I would recommend him to anyone.”

“Kristy was great with our cats. This was our first time booking a pet sitter we didn’t know personally and it turned out well. We will definitely contact Kristy again should we need someone to check-in on our cats while we’re away. She made the entire process easy and she was very flexible and responsive.”

Very good communication and no issues. Bentley loved her and we'll definitely use Peyton again in the future.”

About: I’ve had two dogs in my life and the most recent one was very old and taking care of her was something I did everyday. I also trained her when she was young to do basic commands. I am free any day during the week besides late afternoon and nights during Thursday every week, I am open to any day of the week six days a week I worked closely with my last dog and was able to rely on her with close observation to take care of her in the yard as well as in the house.
About: I’m going into my junior year at Virginia Tech with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and small animals. I’ve grown up with pets my whole life and currently have a yellow lab at home in Richmond named Cheddar so I’m very comfortable with all ages, sizes, and energy levels. I’ve pet-sat for friends, neighbors, and family including overnight stays, feeding routines, daily walks, and giving pets lots of attention and playtime. I’ve also cared for fish and hamsters, so I’m confident with small-pet needs too. I treat every pet like they’re my own! I’m happy to come to your home for pet care. Since I live in a college house most of the year, I actually prefer visiting your home where your pet is most comfortable. You can always text me to check my availability, and I’ll work around your schedule as best as I can. I have a car, so getting to your home is easy, and I’m happy to take your pet on walks or follow their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as familiar and stress free as possible. I make sure doors are secure, food and water are refreshed, and any instructions you give me are followed exactly. I’m respectful of your space, and I treat your home with the same care and responsibility I treat your pet. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet company, I make sure your pet feels safe while you’re away!
“Ruby loves Allison! We appreciate her prompt communication and attention to detail. She brings in my packages, searches for missing treasure Ruby has buried in the yard. Highly recommend!”

“Kayla was great, hung out and played with my cat and made sure everyone got fed & meds! She even washed the food plates instead of sticking them in the dishwasher. Thanks, Kayla!”

“Katie is an exceptional animal caretaker. I highly recommend her services to anyone seeking proper care for their pets. We’ll definitely be using her services every time we can in the future.”

“Alison was wonderful. My family was dealing with extremely challenging circumstances and I didn’t make things as high a a priority as I should I have. I was extremely fortunate to have had a wonderful drop in visit by her where Hallie was well-loved on and cared for and I absolutely can not recommend her enough.”
About: Hello! My name is Christian and I have been a dog lover since the age of 8 when we got a black lab named Charlie. He was a 100+ lb teddy bear who would go on runs, play basketball, and nap whenever he got the chance. Then, my fiancé (at the time) and I got a miniature long haired dachshund who is now seven months old. A year later, we adopted another miniature long haired dachshund from the same family (half-brother). As you can see, I love dogs of all shapes and sizes. Growing up, I strongly considered being a vet as being around animals makes me happiest. If you choose me to take care of your dog, you can be sure they will be loved, pampered, and given high quality care. Contact me today! I am currently off for the summer as a doctoral student and work remotely part-time during the school year. So, my schedule is pretty flexible and I am confident that we can work out an agreeable schedule. I will plan to take care of your fur babies in your own home unless you have a small animal that is particularly friendly with others. It is extremely important to me that your animals feel safe, loved, and cared for in the best way possible. During the meet and greet, I will try to get an understanding of their needs and levels of affection that are appropriate. I also have three young kiddos who love animals and have been taught the appropriate, safe way to approach animals that are not ours. If that would be helpful or meaningful for your animals, I know they would love to meet them too, but obviously at your discretion.
About: My family grew up with dogs my entire childhood, I helped care for them, and neighborhood dogs for years until having to move out. I also had two dogs of my own that I raised since puppyhood. That being said, I love all animals, and have experience caring for everything from birds to cats. I am looking for snuggles, walks, and being able to help the community. I am very clean, I follow directions, and I will treat any client’s home with the utmost respect. I will be 100% transparent if anything were to happen. I have been involved with Rover for quite some time now and love it! I am currently waiting for my next job to start in November! So I am here at home just hanging out and would love to fill my days with walks and snuggles. I am flexible and can try to work with whatever schedule your animal needs, but I am required to go to class. I will not be offering care services in my home, if I am to do drop in visits I would take the utmost care of my clients animals and space.
About: I’m a calm, patient animal lover. Years caring for dogs and cats—walks, overnights, senior care, and vet visits for family and friends. I treat all animals as if they were my own. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I have a very flexible schedule and am available most days and hours, allowing me to provide consistent, reliable care. I treat every home and pet with the same care I would my own. I stick closely to routines, keep things calm and consistent, and make sure pets feel safe and comfortable. I’m attentive to details like secure doors and safe spaces, and I always keep owners updated.

About: I’ve lived with dogs and cats most of my life, including caring for a German Shepherd. I’m experienced with anxious and shy dogs. I’m comfortable with both large and small breeds and have experience with a range of personalities and energy levels. I treat every pet with the same patience, care, and attention I’d want for my own. I’m currently available evenings start ant 6:30pm and almost every weekend from 7am to 9pm. My availability will open up even more soon. I don’t have any pups or kitties living with me right now. I love going for long walks, playing with pups, and generally spoiling them. I can easily put your pets in crates if requested. Giving food, water and treats is something I’m happy to do! If your fur baby just needs a little company, I’d love to do that as well. I have many years of experience with fearful dogs who may be triggered by the sight of other dogs, people, animals, people on bikes, etc. They just need extra care and attention, but they’re still lovable. Medicine administration is also something I am comfortable doing. Lastly, I have experience with puppies/kittens all the way to senior pets.

About: I grew up around dogs, caring for our family pets. As an adult, my own dogs are the highlight of my life. I spend my time trying to give dogs even a fraction of the love and devotion they give to us! I'm experienced with caring for all sizes and breeds of dogs from all walks of life. I'm happy to adapt to any needs, including training reinforcement, pacing, interacting or not interacting with other dogs/people etc. I also have experience with training puppies and caring for senior dogs(as I have one of my own). I work a full time corporate job with some flexibility on a case by case basis. Most of my availability is in the evenings and weekends, but I'm more than happy to discuss special requests! I'm happy to walk your dog through a familiar area in the neighborhood or even to a nearby dog park if desired. Happy to accommodate what makes you and your fur baby happy!

Camryn was awesome! She walked our dog, Lily for us while we were gone for a long weekend. Lily is 12 years old and she takes her time on her walks and Camryn let her do her thing each time. She was super nice and super helpful! We would definitely use her again.
We booked Jillian for a few drop-ins for our dog & 2 cats. We are very happy with the service she provided! Her communication was great and we received lots of pictures of all of our pets so our minds were left at ease knowing everyone was happy and cared for!

Emily is amazing always but this time specifically I had her take care of my dog, my parents dog, and my grandparents dog. They all had special requirements and she did great! My parent’s dog was slow to warm up but Emily easily won him over. She is the best and I can’t recommend her enough!!!

Alison was wonderful. My family was dealing with extremely challenging circumstances and I didn’t make things as high a a priority as I should I have. I was extremely fortunate to have had a wonderful drop in visit by her where Hallie was well-loved on and cared for and I absolutely can not recommend her enough.
Carina has been an amazing dog sitter, very responsive and is able to handle my energetic dogs. She has really taken the time to earn the trust of my (2) border collies and has been great at meeting time schedules. She is good at communicating and highly recommend her to anyone who needs a dog sitter!

Hallie did an excellent job with our rescue dog! He loved her and we knew that he was in the best of hands after our meet and greet! We especially appreciated the communication, updates and photos with each visit. Thank you for loving our little guy like your own, Hallie!!

Ella was fantastic during our meet and greet! She was gentle and patient with my puppy, and it was clear she has a genuine love for dogs. She answered all my questions and made me feel completely at ease about having her check in on the little guy when I'm away. I'm happy to have found her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
