“Im so glad my little guy got to stay with Emily and her daughter! He came home happy and healthy, and Emily sent some photos and updates while we were away. Great and quick to communicate! Highly recommend.”

“Winnie always enjoys staying with PC and Will. It's her home away from home! They are great at sending photos and videos. Thank you for giving Winnie so much love and attention.”

“Lara was so great to work with! She took care of our Winnie like she was part of their family and kept us updated with lots of pictures throughout her stay. We will definitely book with her again!”

About: I love dogs and dogs love me! They give unconditional love and I am passionate about them. I love to play with them, take care of them, feed them and keep them disciplined. I too have a small dog - Cavachon 4 years- is like my child and I adore him so much. My wife also loves and adore dogs. We live in a nice / clean single family home with a huge fenced in back yard. I work from home most of the time can take out your dog any time of the day. I have no doubt your furry friend will fully enjoy with us. I will send you daily pictures and keep you updated if you would like. Bring your doggies and we will make sure they feel at home with us!
“Stephanie was flexible and communicative with great updates. She made everything super easy and Bonnie didn’t want to leave! So glad to have someone who is both reliable and close. We’ll definitely work with Stephanie again!”

“Boarding our dog Nova with Kristina, Ricky, and their two sweet kids was great! They were super accommodating with a fairly last minute request, and they took excellent care of her. Communication was a breeze, and we got plenty of photos and updates throughout the trip. She got a ton of attention and playtime during her stay, and seemed right at home when we picked her up! Would absolutely book with them again!”

“Elizabeth is the best communicator about Tulley’s stay I’ve ever experienced on Rover! She contacted and sent photos twice a day which was so reassuring! He looked so content in the photos, especially when he was snuggling beside her on the couch. That showed me how happy he was. He also has digestive issues that Elizabeth managed perfectly. Totally recommend her to care for your dog!”

“This is our second time booking with Angelica, and she is truly heaven-sent! She always provides Benzino with exceptional care, love, and hospitality. He enjoys his time with her so much that he didn't even want to leave! 🤣 She sent us multiple daily updates with the best pictures and videos. Angelica, thank you for taking such great care of our baby. We appreciate you more than you know and are so grateful to have found you. Benzino’s new BFF 🫶 She is highly recommended!”

“This is the first time I used Rover and left Hercules to be taken care by someone who was not part of the family. He is a senior and very into his ways so I was apprehensive about how he would take it. From the photos Cyndi provides daily I could tell in the first day he was relaxed and really into Cyndi. She took a great care of him and it was great to have daily updates and a place where he does need to share with other dogs. I would highly recommend Cyndi and I will definitely book more stays with her.”

“Julie was a perfect hostess to our pup - Tasha enjoyed their large fenced yard and was very happy and at home, very well cared for! Julie provided pics and updates daily. We will use her again for certain.”

“Matt was a wonderful host! Charlie has a blast during his stay and we enjoyed seeing all of the daily updates and photos of the fun he was having. He came home happy and tired! :-)”

“Hilary was an excellent choice for our dog while we were out of town. She sent multiple pictures showing his walks and good times that made us smile and remove any fears we had about using this service for the first time. We will definitely ask her to watch our dog any time she is available when we need it. ?”

About: Hello! My name is Christian and I have been a dog lover since the age of 8 when we got a black lab named Charlie. He was a 100+ lb teddy bear who would go on runs, play basketball, and nap whenever he got the chance. Then, my fiancé (at the time) and I got a miniature long haired dachshund who is now seven months old. A year later, we adopted another miniature long haired dachshund from the same family (half-brother). As you can see, I love dogs of all shapes and sizes. Growing up, I strongly considered being a vet as being around animals makes me happiest. If you choose me to take care of your dog, you can be sure they will be loved, pampered, and given high quality care. Contact me today! I am currently off for the summer as a doctoral student and work remotely part-time during the school year. So, my schedule is pretty flexible and I am confident that we can work out an agreeable schedule. I will plan to take care of your fur babies in your own home unless you have a small animal that is particularly friendly with others. It is extremely important to me that your animals feel safe, loved, and cared for in the best way possible. During the meet and greet, I will try to get an understanding of their needs and levels of affection that are appropriate. I also have three young kiddos who love animals and have been taught the appropriate, safe way to approach animals that are not ours. If that would be helpful or meaningful for your animals, I know they would love to meet them too, but obviously at your discretion.
“We are so happy we found Catherine! She took such good care of our dog and sent us photos and updates throughout his stay with her. I hope anytime we need her she’ll be available as I can’t think of leaving him with anyone else!”

Taryn has been taking care of my pups for years, and I’m so grateful to have someone I trust. She took such great care of them. She sent lots of photos and updates, was incredibly flexible with our travel and flight schedules, and made it so easy for us to actually relax and enjoy our trip knowing they were in great hands. Such a huge relief to have her, and I can’t recommend her enough! ❤️

Amanda, Matthew and her daughter Matilda took great car of Sir. They are very relaxed and made me feel welcome and comfortable in their home and Sir was allowed to just be comfortable and be himself. They even helped us out by bringing Sir out to my son’s wedding (it is their dog) and letting him get some photos with the couple and take him back to their home. Went above and beyond!! Highly recommend!
This was the first time we have used Rover and we couldn’t be more pleased and happy! Tonya was absolutely the best. She organized a meet and greet months ahead of time at her house to be sure Kipper felt comfortable. We were a bit nervous leaving an elderly dog who is mostly blind and deaf for 2 weeks, but Tonya took the very best care of him!

Boarding our dog Nova with Kristina, Ricky, and their two sweet kids was great! They were super accommodating with a fairly last minute request, and they took excellent care of her. Communication was a breeze, and we got plenty of photos and updates throughout the trip. She got a ton of attention and playtime during her stay, and seemed right at home when we picked her up! Would absolutely book with them again!

Caitlyn and Sam were absolutely amazing with our beagle, Gary! He can be a little nervous at first, and big noises tend to scare him, but they were incredibly patient, understanding, and gave him all the time he needed to settle in and feel comfortable. Their communication was outstanding from start to finish, which gave us so much peace of mind. They kept us updated with messages and photos, making it easy to relax knowing Gary was in such great hands. Since we were out of the country, their updates and communication meant even more. It truly felt like Gary was staying at his home away from home. Their girls adored him, and it was obvious that he was loved and cared for like one of their own. I honestly can’t say enough positive things about this family. They made us feel completely at ease, and knowing Gary was in such caring hands meant everything. If you’re looking for a safe, loving, and welcoming home for your pup, I highly recommend Caitlyn and Sam. We will absolutely be booking with them again!

This was the second time Jocelyn watched my dog, and once again she was absolutely fantastic! She kept me updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog had a little anxiety and some tummy issues while I was away, and she handled everything with patience, care, and great communication. It was clear that she genuinely cared about my dog's well-being and made sure she was comfortable every step of the way. I couldn't ask for a better sitter and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate. We will definitely be booking with her again if she'll have us!

We are so grateful we found Aubrey! Our Koji and Hana are used to constant company and are miserable when crated and left alone, that is NOT a worry you will not have with Aubrey! From the minute we stepped into her home on our Meet and Greet, we knew we had won the lottery :-) Aubrey welcomed the pups to enjoy the large comfy sectional and freedom to explore her lovely home! During our vacation week, we were sent many cheerful pics of our Koji & Hana enjoying their time away from us, which in turn allowed us to enjoy our week at the beach without all the guilt of leaving them behind! If you have the opportunity to book with Aubrey, we highly recommend doing so! You will not regret it! We are so happy to have made a new friend, one who loves our pups as much as we do! Aubrey is definitely a FIVE STAR dog sitter (we do not considered her a dog sitter, but rather a trusted fellow dog lover who will watch & love your pup as her own)

Andrea and Ali have taken such amazing care of our two doodles! They treat them like family and truly love them as if they were their own. Andrea always does a wonderful job brushing out their coats, so they come back feeling soft and fresh. Ali would regularly send videos of him playing fetch with them — something our doodles absolutely love. Andrea and Ali set a standard for Rover sitters that far exceeds our expectations, and one I can't imagine ever being matched. We couldn't give a more heartfelt recommendation!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
