“Shane was great with Church! He was reliable, communicative, and took great care of him during his walks. Church seemed comfortable with him, which is always important to me. I really appreciated the updates and knowing Church was in good hands. I would definitely book Shane again and recommend him to other pet parents! 🐾”

“Sarah was amazing! I especially loved the videos she shared. It really made us feel so much better being able to see them! Sarah gave our babies love and cuddles, was very good with communication, and really is a wonderful pet sitter. Highly recommend and will book again when needed. 💕”

“First time ever using the app so I was really nervous about it, but DAMACIA made me feel completely at ease. She listened to all my concerns and how to take care of my sweet boy because he is hard of hearing. She took him on a walk around the neighborhood and Maximus seemed to enjoy it. Now that the walk is over my sweet boy is passed out on the couch probably for the rest of the day. Will definitely be using her services in the near future.”

“Kiara was extremely reliable and patient with both of my dogs. One has a neurological condition and Kiara was able to handle her with grace. Would highly recommend and use again.”

“Francoise was great! She worked well with our crazy schedule and was very personable. She was thorough and efficient as well. We enjoyed working with her and look forward to working with her in the future.”

About: I’ve rescued/raised three dogs from about 2 months old, and fostered pups/kittens as well. I currently work as Foster Coordinator at a local humane society. I have access to good walking trails, and a dog park. I can keep your dog active with hikes and parks, or we can just chill. Whatever they need! I’m working part-time with a consistent schedule. With advance notice I can be available almost any time, and be able to care for your dog throughout the day. Available for house/dog-sitting anytime. I’m available for anything your dog needs! I enjoy the outdoors, so we can go on walks/hikes together and play at the park. Or if your pup is more the indoor type, we can lounge about and play in the home.
About: I have two amazing dogs, Milo and Winter, that play constantly! They are best of friends and always welcome new friends. Milo is an 8 month old puppy still learning house training and making amazing progress. I found him at a rescue in Philly when I was visiting March 2026- love at first site! He clicked so well with my German Shepherd mix Winter, that I rescued in June 2025. Prior to falling in love with these two rescues, I helped foster several dogs through a local rescue- while healing from the loss of my dog of 13 years, Bella. She was a one dog household kind of girl, but Winter was just the opposite. I could tell she needed a friend, and Milo came into our lives at just the right time. I so look forward to helping care for your fur babies and will give them all the walks, plays, and cuddles they might need. I’ll ensure all your care is personalized to your dog’s specific needs. Also, would love to send you pic updates while you’re at work or adventuring! If your dog is in my care for doggy daycare, I will be home with them, unless otherwise discussed with you. If I’m hired to come walk your dog, I’ll give you a detailed update of our walk! I am home and available 7 days a week, unless I’m traveling. My dogs get lots of attention and walks. We love the James River Park system 🫶 I will ask for lots of detail about your pets specific needs so I can curate their care so they feel right at home! A home away from home.
“Breanna had the unfortunate duty of cleaning up a shattered glass vase one of my dogs knocked over when Breanna arrived. I appreciate her reaching out to me right away to let me know, and to also reassure me that neither dog (or she fortunately) was injured. She cleaned up the mess thoroughly, which was necessary to prevent injuries but also above and beyond. I also appreciate her continued patience with my two young and dogs. I know they are A LOT when she opens the front door. I'm really pleased to have found Breanna to take my dogs for recurring walks while I'm working. I look forward to her developing a bond with my crazy noodleheads. Highly recommended! 🥇”

About: I have had my own dogs since my early 20’s, and I’d probably have about ten more if I could. Everyone in our family has dogs, ranging from tiny Yorkipoos to big ol’ lab mixes, and I love them all! I currently have one rescue pup, Russell, who is 19 different breeds! I am patient, I don’t get grossed out easily, and I will love your pup like it’s a member of the family. My husband and I are both teachers, so we are home full-time during the summer with our two teenage kids. During the school year we work, but I’m usually home by 3:30. Our 13-year old daughter is interested in pursuing a career working with animals, so she will be assisting in the care of your pet. We have a large fenced yard and a dog-friendly house. We even have a doggie door for pups to come and go outside to the back yard as they need or want to. We have one 5-year old dog who gets along great with other pups. Usually when we dog sit, we have the visiting pup have a home base in our daughter’s room where they can be fed separately, have peace and quiet, and enjoy the best air conditioning in the house! We are a dogs on furniture house, and she even loves to let the dogs we are sitting sleep in her bed with her if they want. Your dog should expect many pets and snuggles at our house! If we are coming to your house, we will follow whatever routines and rules you’ve established for your pet. But still expect lots of love for your pet!

About: I've always had a soft spot for the pets that need a little extra love. Over the years, I've adopted two rescue dogs and two rescue cats. One of my dogs was a deaf and partially blind senior who had been overlooked at the shelter, and caring for him taught me patience, attentiveness, and how to make an anxious or special-needs pet feel safe. Today I'm the proud cat mom to two tuxedo rescues, ages 14 and 6, who both have separation anxiety. Because of them, I understand how important it is to keep pets comfortable, maintain their routines, and earn their trust. I'll care for your pets with the same patience and love I give my own. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide dependable care and adjust my schedule to meet each pet's needs. I'm an early riser, so my mornings always begin by feeding, playing with, and checking in on my own cats before I start my workday. Because I'm home throughout the day, I'm able to give pets plenty of attention, companionship, and playtime rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. Whether your cat needs a little extra affection, interactive play, fresh food and water, or simply someone to check in and make sure they're comfortable, I have the flexibility to provide attentive, consistent care. I know how important routine is—especially for cats—and I'll do my best to keep your pet's day as familiar and stress-free as possible while you're away. At home, my cats are part of my family, and I make sure they always have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, daily playtime, and, of course, plenty of affection on their own terms. Because they have very different personalities, I've learned that every cat has unique needs. One may want to play and cuddle, while another simply appreciates a calm presence and a predictable routine. When caring for pets in a client's home, I strive to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I'll follow your feeding schedule, refresh water, clean litter boxes, administer medications if needed, and spend quality time with your pet based on what makes them happiest—whether that's interactive play, brushing, lap time, or simply sitting quietly with them so they feel safe and comfortable.

I also have crates as well. I love going on walks and love exercising with dogs!

About: Hi! I'm a passionate pet sitter with professional experience working in both a boarding kennel and a veterinary clinic. During my time at the kennel, I cared for pets of all ages—from young puppies and kittens to senior pets—and worked with a wide variety of breeds, personalities, and energy levels. I also have experience caring for pets with medical conditions and special needs, including administering medications and providing attentive, individualized care. Working in a veterinary clinic has further strengthened my knowledge of animal health and behavior, allowing me to recognize when a pet may need extra attention and provide confident, compassionate care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I'll treat them like one of my own. My goal is to keep your pets happy, safe, and comfortable while giving you peace of mind with regular updates and photos throughout my visits. 🐾 I currently work full time at the veterinary clinic but I can pop in multiple times a day to check on your furry friend(s) or I can also stay the night at your house 😊 When caring for your furry friends in their home, my goal is to keep them comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine as much as possible. I provide feeding, fresh water, walks, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of companionship and attention based on each pet’s personality and needs. I also have experience working in both a veterinary clinic and a boarding kennel, so I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, including those with medical conditions or special care instructions. I understand that pets feel most secure in their own environment, so I take the time to make them feel calm and cared for while you’re away. I can administer medications if needed and will closely follow any instructions you provide to ensure their health and well-being. During each visit, I’ll also check that everything is safe and in order in your home, and I’ll provide regular updates with photos and messages so you always know how your pets are doing. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry family members are in caring, capable hands. 🐾
About: Hi there! I’m Fabrizio, proud dog parent to Bruno, my 5-year-old buddy who taught me that every pup has their own personality and needs. Over the years I’ve also cared for the pets of friends and family — from playful puppies to older dogs that just need extra love and attention. I’m flexible, reliable, and love keeping owners updated with pics and messages. With me, every walk is an adventure and every cuddle feels like home. 🐾🐶 I work as an independent sports agent, which means most of my job is done from my phone and laptop. Because of this, I have a very flexible schedule and can easily adjust my day around walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting. Whether it’s mornings, afternoons, evenings, or even weekends, I can usually make it work. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s routine and find the perfect times to keep them happy and cared for. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. When I’m in your home, I respect your space and follow all instructions carefully to make sure your pets feel comfortable and secure. I treat every house as if it were my own, with responsibility and care. On walks, I’m always alert to surroundings, traffic, and other animals. I keep dogs safely leashed, avoid risky situations, and make sure they get exercise in a fun but safe way. You can trust that your pets will always be in good hands with me.
“Shannon was huge help walking our dog Nora after my foot surgery. She was responsible, communicative, and took some cute pictures of Nora during their walks! We will definitely book again.”

About: I have had many cats throughout my life! I love them with all my heart and I’m very educated on felines. I have a cat, his name is Marble. I’ve had him since he was about 5 weeks. He’s now 2 years old. I adore dogs just as much! I have watched many medium and small sized canines. My first job was dog walking when I was 14. Pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine as a full-time writer and filmmaker. My flexible schedule and frequent downtime make it easy to care for my pets. I give dogs and cats all the love and attention they need. I provide playtime, feedings, walks, baths, and medications. Having had mischievous cats myself, I am very attentive to every animal in my care.
About: Hello! I am a huge animal lover with a lifetime of experience caring for pets. I am currently Cat and Dog First Aid Certified by the American Red Cross. I grew up on farm taking care of dogs, cats, and horses. I also worked as a doggie day camp counselor at a pet hotel throughout college. I cared for every size/breed/personality of dog out there. I have experience handling all energy levels, as well as nervous/anxious/scared pups. I work from home Monday-Friday 9-5, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I can provide day care or boarding in my home. I can also do dog walks and drop in visits during lunch breaks, evenings, and weekends. First and foremost, you know your pets best, so I will always follow your instructions to the tee. I will communicate regularly and ask questions, as needed. I have a 1 year old beagle/Rottweiler named Lyla who is great with other dogs. I live in a house with a fully fenced yard. My neighborhood is also walkable and has a small dog park. My house is always clean and dog proof.
About: Hello! My name is Christian and I have been a dog lover since the age of 8 when we got a black lab named Charlie. He was a 100+ lb teddy bear who would go on runs, play basketball, and nap whenever he got the chance. Then, my fiancé (at the time) and I got a miniature long haired dachshund who is now seven months old. A year later, we adopted another miniature long haired dachshund from the same family (half-brother). As you can see, I love dogs of all shapes and sizes. Growing up, I strongly considered being a vet as being around animals makes me happiest. If you choose me to take care of your dog, you can be sure they will be loved, pampered, and given high quality care. Contact me today! I am currently off for the summer as a doctoral student and work remotely part-time during the school year. So, my schedule is pretty flexible and I am confident that we can work out an agreeable schedule. I will plan to take care of your fur babies in your own home unless you have a small animal that is particularly friendly with others. It is extremely important to me that your animals feel safe, loved, and cared for in the best way possible. During the meet and greet, I will try to get an understanding of their needs and levels of affection that are appropriate. I also have three young kiddos who love animals and have been taught the appropriate, safe way to approach animals that are not ours. If that would be helpful or meaningful for your animals, I know they would love to meet them too, but obviously at your discretion.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Midlothian
Francois was an amazing pet sitter and incredibly kind and helpful - we needed very last minute care for our sick aunt’s pets and she responded quickly. On the first day she was extremely understanding and helpful when our aunt’s home needed some tidying before it was ready for handoff of the pets’ care. She sent lots of photos and detailed updates. I cannot recommend her enough!

Tyler has been walking my two young energetic 60 lb. dogs for about two months. He's punctual, professional, friendly, and seems to genuinely enjoy seeing my crazy dogs in spite of their over-the-top energy levels. And they are always excited to see him. I'm very happy to have found Tyler via Rover and highly recommend him for your dog walking needs.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
