Animals have been a huge part of my life, both personally and professionally! I began working at an animal hospital as a kennel assistant in 2015 and eventually worked my way up to becoming a veterinary assistant, continuing in the veterinary field through 2024. I also have professional dog-training experience from working as a dog trainer at Petco. I love incorporating positive reinforcement and mental stimulation into my visits, and if you provide training treats, I’m happy to reinforce commands and behaviors your pup already knows! These days, I work from home full-time using my degree, but animals are still a huge part of my everyday life. My own little crew includes two dogs, my senior cat, eight chickens, and two ducks! 🐶🐱🐔🦆 My professional experience has taught me how important it is to understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, boundaries, and needs. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions, administering medications as directed, caring for senior pets, and paying attention when something just doesn’t seem quite right. I also serve in the military and have experience as a medic, which has strengthened my ability to remain calm, pay attention to details, and follow instructions carefully. Whether your baby needs a long walk, playtime, mental stimulation, medication, some extra patience, or simply someone to keep them company, my goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. And of course, I’ll keep you updated with plenty of pictures! ❤️

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I’ll follow your instructions closely and do my best to keep their normal routine consistent, including feeding, medications, walks, litter box care, crates, doors and gates, and any household rules you have. For dogs staying with me, I have a fully fenced backyard for supervised potty breaks, sniffing, and playtime. When caring for pets in your home, I’m respectful of both your space and your pet’s boundaries—especially with cats who may need a little more time before deciding I’m worthy of their attention. 😂 I will never take your pet somewhere, introduce them to another animal, or do an activity you haven’t approved. You know your baby best, so tell me what makes them feel safe and comfortable and I’ll follow your lead!

Jocelyn was awesome!! She spent lots of time with my little boy cat, Charlie, and made sure he felt extra loved while I was in Puerto Rico for a few days. She gave him a ton of treats, pets, and love, and kept him happy!

Schedule
I work from home full-time, which gives me flexibility throughout the day and plenty of opportunities to step away from my computer for some pet time! Whether that means a nice walk with your pup, playtime with your kitty, or simply giving your pet some company and attention, I’m happy to work with their normal routine. Because I do work a full-time schedule and occasionally have meetings that may run over, I appreciate having a reasonable arrival window for walks and drop-ins rather than an exact time. If your pet has a time-sensitive need, such as medication, please let me know ahead of time so we can discuss their schedule. And expect plenty of pictures and updates! I know how much I love seeing what my own pets are doing when I’m away, so I’ll make sure you get to see your babies too. ❤️

- Tell me everything! The more I know about your pet, the easier it is for me to keep their routine familiar and comfortable while you’re away. I’d love to know about their feeding and potty/litter box routine, medications, energy level, favorite activities, commands, walking habits, hiding spots, and any household rules you’d like me to follow. Please also tell me about allergies, fears, triggers, reactivity, escape tendencies, or other behaviors I should know about. For dogs, let me know about leash behavior and how they typically react to other dogs, people, or animals on walks. For cats, things like their favorite hiding places, whether they’re indoor-only, door-dashers, social or shy, and how they prefer to be approached are incredibly helpful. And please tell me the fun stuff too—their favorite toys, treats, scratches, weird little habits, and the quickest way to become their new best friend. 🥰
