I used to work mainly remotely business days except a couple of mornings a week, but now am supposed to be working in the office more; Eric’s full-time in-person work schedule varies. We only take reservations from one pet family at a time, so if you have one dog, it will be the only dog in the house. Your pups are allowed to be on the furniture except in the bed when we are sleeping, but they can be close by. NOTE: the rate for dogs from smoking homes will be 50% more.

I care for your pets like I would care for my own - they will be able to hang out with us in the house or, if they want, go outside into the four-foot chain link fenced backyard, where they’ll be monitored. If your pup likes it, we will spend quite a bit time outside when the weather is cooperative and mosquitoes are at a minimum. The area is quiet but we live near a grade school, so we enjoy the gently chaotic noise of children playing, principal announcements, and 8 am/3 pm traffic on school days.

Information Julie W. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know about your dog’s energy level and what kinds of activities they enjoy so we can try to make their stay with us enjoyable.
A typical day
We generally just hang out but the large backyard allows for lots of running and play. We have a medium chuckit ball thrower that gets lots of use.

Pet care experience
In the Carillon between Carytown and Byrd Park, after meeting you and your pet(s) for a meet and greet and at least a one-night trial run, Eric and I offer: • sitting for only your pet(s) at a time • a detached house with fenced backyard (4 ft. chain link, pets are monitored closely) • no kids or pets of our own at home • dogs allowed on furniture • no smoking Eric and I LOVE all dogs, big and small. We both have a lot of experience with dogs and really enjoy being around them. Our main goal is to keep your pet safe while you’re away, and in doing that we will make sure they are comfortable and as happy as possible. We offer both boarding and daycare, but the calendars do not sync, so feel free to check the boarding and daycare calendars to see our availability.
Reviews

My dog, Nina, is a people dog and she was very happy to stay with Julie and her husband. Nina has a few quirks and Julie accommodated and took great care of her. Julie was great at communicating at every step from booking, drop off, daily updates, etc. I would definitely recommend Julie to anyone for her wonderful care and kindness.

I was passing through Richmond and needed a dog sitter for a few hours. Julie and her husband could not have been a better couple for the job! They have the perfect space (with a doggy door leading to a beautiful, fenced-in yard!) and my dogs seemed to instantly feel comfortable there. I wish Julie and her husband lived closer to us—we’d use them all the time! Highly recommend.
This is one of the first sitters to watch our young dog! A success! He was calm and happy when we picked him up, and I think he even benefited from a bit of training! Back yard is wonderful!

Julie is always fantastic! Our energetic pup Lola loves the backyard and the welcoming atmosphere!
