About: Hi, I’m Steve — a lifelong animal lover who has been caring for pets for neighbors, friends, and family for as long as I can remember. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. When I was younger, I volunteered at Roaring Brook Nature Center, where I helped care for everything from snakes and lizards to owls, possums, ferrets, and chinchillas. As I got older, my passion for animals took me even farther — all the way to a wildlife preserve in South Africa, where I spent time helping with game drives, tracking wildlife, and learning just how important compassionate, attentive care is for every living creature. Recently, I was laid off after dealing with a back injury, and I decided it was finally time to return to what brings me happiness: being around animals and helping people feel confident their pets are safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m patient, gentle, reliable, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. Whether your pet needs walks, attention, playtime, or just someone calm and caring to keep them company, I’m here to help and to make sure they feel secure and happy. I’d love the chance to care for your furry family member. I was recently laid off due to ongoing spine problems. My doctor said that keeping mobile is the best thing for me right now, so I figured that spending my time around animals and walking outdoors is a great option for me to continue healing and to have a source of income. I will focus nearly all of my time towards this work as I am unemployed at the moment. I am a big believer in gaining the trust of your pet first. So a slow approach and getting down on their level to allow them to smell and gain trust is important to me. I also love to communicate with animals in a high pitch baby voice as to not be intimidating. I am quite a large man so I feel the baby voice helps with the more skiddish of animals. Sometimes a stern voice may be needed needed given the situation, but almost never used. Your pets will get the exact same love and affection that my pets get every day because they deserve nothing but love.

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life and have loved every minute of their companionship. When I went to college I adopted two kittens and since then have gotten a third. I have dog sat for a week at a time; providing detailed care and a friendly demeanor that leaves pets feeling at ease. I am experienced with cats and dogs of all ages. I own 3 cats ranging in age from 1 to 14. I am familiar with litter box training as well as medication administration within food. I am a passionate pet caregiver and have a huge heart that welcomes pets of all kinds. I work in the school systems therefore I am off for the summer! Starting July 27th I am available full time! I am only away August 6-9. I treat all pets with kindness, respect and patience. Animals are my true joy in life and I absolutely love spending time with them. About: I currently volunteer at an animal shelter and love working with dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and demeanors! I also have some basic training experience through my dog trainer, who also specializes in service work and behavioral training. My personal dog, Toffee (basset hound!), lived to be 16, and my favorite time with her was the patient walks and TLC needed as she got older--happy to support your senior animals too:) A couple other tidbits: I have experience working with farm animals (chickens, ducks, goats, and alpacas!) and majored in Environmental Science in college. Looking forward to meeting your furry ones! I balance my full-time job (8:30-4) with pet care through Rover and at the animal shelter. I am happy to work with you to find good times (evenings and weekends included, depending on when). I prefer to meet or provide care at your home, but I also live in a very walkable neighborhood and have a dog park nearby. My house has a fenced-in yard and a sprinkler for the hotter days. While I do not currently have a crate in my personal vehicle, I am happy to get one if you are more comfortable. I also have close friends with dogs and cats if play dates are helpful too!

About: I've grown up around animals my whole life, including huskies, and I spent most of my life horseback riding. I currently have a young husky named Mako, so I have daily experience with exercise, training, grooming, and keeping dogs on a consistent routine. Mako and I are home from college, so we’ve been spending lots of time outside! We regularly go hiking and swimming, and at home he has access to several acres of land where he can safely explore on a supervised 100-foot lead, well away from the road. I do most of Mako's grooming myself, including bathing and brushing to prevent matting, and I'm happy to do the same for dogs in my care if requested. I have experience with reactive and aggressive dogs and can safely separate dogs if needed without making them feel left out. Mako is very friendly and loves meeting new dogs, but I pay close attention to make sure he’s not overwhelming anyone with his puppy energy. I keep a consistent schedule and will treat your dog like one of my own. There's also a vet right around the corner in case of an emergency, giving you extra peace of mind while your pet is in my care. Im back home from college right now and can give 24/7 care. I am a musician but I don't have the sleep schedule of one! Mako and I wake up at 9am and sleep by 12 at the latest. Feeding times are consistent and we spend more of the day outdoors than in. I love to write and practice outside so I will hangout on the porch or in the yard even if I'm home for the day. Mako lets me know if he needs a AC break, but he also has his favorite shady trees and kitty pool to hangout at. At my mom's farm house we have many acres of yard off of a low traffic street. It is not fenced in so I have a 100ft lead tied in the center that I clip Mako to. My mom left a patch of the yard un-mowed so the wildflowers would grow, and Mako loves to explore in the tall grass. I tick check him regularly but haven't found anything yet. I always keep him in my line of sight when I let him out on the lead. The house has lots of space and it's easy to seperate dogs if needed. I also have a large crate that Mako used to use. I uphold some basic training manners such as no table scraps, calmly walking out the front door next to or behind me, no chewing everything, etc. Im happy to take requests if there's training manners you don't want your dog to get rusty on while away. Im not certified but I know how to perform CPR and first aid on dogs. There is a vet clinic right around the corner and I can get them there within minutes incase of emergency.
