About: I am an animal lover I have had dogs all my life since I was a little gir. I have experience caring for dogs, I used to care for my family dog, he was a very energetic and a very hand full dog, I have work with other dogs too and I am comfortable bathing, feeding, walking and playing with your pets. I have a very energetic and loving personality. I am an undergraduate student with a very flexible schedule that allows me to take care of your pets and give them the attention and love that they deserve. I’m looking forward to metting your pets!! Please feel free to contact me to discuss my services, I look forward from hearing from you, Thank you in advance!!
About: I currently volunteer at an animal shelter and love working with dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and demeanors! I also have some basic training experience through my dog trainer, who also specializes in service work and behavioral training. My personal dog, Toffee (basset hound!), lived to be 16, and my favorite time with her was the patient walks and TLC needed as she got older--happy to support your senior animals too:) A couple other tidbits: I have experience working with farm animals (chickens, ducks, goats, and alpacas!) and majored in Environmental Science in college. Looking forward to meeting your furry ones! I balance my full-time job (8:30-4) with pet care through Rover and at the animal shelter. I am happy to work with you to find good times (evenings and weekends included, depending on when). I prefer to meet or provide care at your home, but I also live in a very walkable neighborhood and have a dog park nearby. My house has a fenced-in yard and a sprinkler for the hotter days. While I do not currently have a crate in my personal vehicle, I am happy to get one if you are more comfortable. I also have close friends with dogs and cats if play dates are helpful too!
About: I have had pets my whole life and love caring for them all. I was a manager at a pet care store for many years. I am part time worker and I am available most afternoons and evenings, any time you might need me for any type of pet you have. I have a quiet dead end street that is great for walks, also a spare room if your pet might need to be crated, or separated.
About: I've cared for cats all my life. And have had a dog for over 12 years. Also cared for several dogs at once for family so am very familiar with dog language, am less but still very cat fluent as well. My schedule is very fluent albeit a lil unorganized. But I'm relatively free every day, don't work a regular job for that many hours. Would love to fill more of my time with some furry friends. I keep my pet care to a schedule. I ensure that care is evenly distributed between each of the pets as well as managing home care as well!
About: I've had dogs all of my life, and created such strong bonds with each one of them. I've always been someone my family and friends can turn to when they leave to care for their pets as I ensure they are not only taken care of, but comfortable and happy as well. Animals are so special to people and I will always drop everything to care for them. I'm completely free for the summer before I attend my first year of college in the fall. When I have classes, I plan to schedule pet care visits in my free time and days off as well. I'm a very communicative and responsible person who can easily adapt to the needs of my clients and their pets. My main priority is the comfort of the animals and I will do whatever it takes to ensure that and their happiness.
“Molly was a pleasure to work with. She quickly befriended our typically stranger-averse Shih Tzu and provided quality service. Molly was communicative and flexible - we will absolutely book again!”

“Olivia did an awesome job ! It's always hard trusting someone to care for your babies but she gave me peace of mind while I was away. My cat warmed up to her right away which made me happy that they had company while I was gone 🥰 she even took the initiative to clean up and always reached out if she had any questions. She was quick to respond, followed all care instructions, and the communication was great! Lots of pics ☺️ I highly recommend her and look forward to having her sit for me again !”

About: I am a serious pet fanatic. I love dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages. I am the proud owner of a Pitt-terrier mix and two cats. I have experience with training my dogs, and am also working on training my cats who love working for treats! I can provide your pets with the necessary security, exercise, and care that all animals deserve. I work full time during the week, and am happy to drop in to care for your pets after work. On the weekends, I have full availability and am flexible to meet your pets’ needs. I give my pets the upmost care. One of my cats requires allergy medication, which I have learned to administer. I also ensure that my cats and my dog receive the appropriate amount of exercise.
About: Hi, I'm Kait! Growing up, my family always had at least two dogs in our house at all times. I have experience in everything from medication administering, daily dog walks and overnight stays while owners are out of town, to feeding goats and collecting peacock eggs. I can guarantee that I will love and care for your furry friend(s) as if they were my own! PLEASE NOTE: I work full time M-F from 9-5. I'm always available after 6pm. I'm available Saturday/Sunday any time! My work schedule *sometimes* varies week to week, so please ask me about my schedule before booking! I am also available July 4 :) I can only care for pets at your own home. I have experience with both staying overnight with pets and making visits throughout the day, so I can provide pet care any way you prefer! I know how difficult it can be to leave pets, so I try my best to ensure your pets will be as comfortable as they can be. (& please know that NO request is too much or weird for me- I have read dogs books before bed and tucked them in, per owners' request!)
“Christine has done a great job taking care of our dog. She is a good communicator, punctual and reliable. I can tell she takes care of our dog like he is her own! She provided us with lots of updates and pictures from her drop in visits, which is much appreciated. If you are looking for pet care I would definitely recommend Christine!”

“Elicia was great with our girls!!! Very responsive and communicated with us throughout the visit. She really gave us peace of mind that they were completely being taken care of! Thank you!”

“Sarah is the best! She is always on time, cares about my pup and sends pictures! You can tell my dog likes her just by how comfortable she looks in her pics. We appreciate her so much !”

About: I am a recent college graduate who spent my time training puppies and fostering kitties. It was it one of the best things I did at university. Outside of that, I helped raise two rescued beagles and a handful of senior cats. I’m experienced with puppies/kittens all the way through seniors. As an educator and loving of all I see myself as an experienced caregiver that wears a multitude of hats I currently work 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday with weekends and evenings off. That is lots of time to check in on your baby, go for walks, and play some stimulating games. I’d love to get together before watching your place and pet to go through your safety procedures, emergency contacts, etc. I take protecting your pet and home as a priority so you can enjoy your time away

Tatyana did a great job with the drop-in visits for our Golden while we were away for an overnight! She followed all our instructions and was always very responsive. We had a delivery of perishable food while we were away and she even volunteered to put the food in the fridge for us! I felt very comfortable leaving Koda’s care in her hands and wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

Leaving Gamma and Delta for a long period of time was incredibly stressful for us, but Melanie completely exceeded our expectations! She came in twice a day for food, to spend quality time with them and sent a lot of daily photos. I was able to enjoy my entire trip with zero worries since we had a pretty good communication with her. Gamma and Delta had a blast, non stop cuddles and a lot of love, also a lot of games and treats, they will miss her! Melanie also helped us with some medication and did an amazing job taking care of our dogs, she left the house spotless, we highly recommend her and will definitely ask for her help in all our future trips!

Carly is wonderful! She took great care of Frankie and Pearl and was patient with them as they got acclimated to her. We had never used Rover before and she made the process seamless and answered all of our questions. Not only is she kind, but she’s extremely detail oriented and loving. We will definitely be booking her again and would recommend her to anyone who needs their animals taken care of. Thank you, Carly!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Hamden with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
