About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 16. Friends and family trust me to walk, feed and take care of their dogs. I am comfortable taking dogs for long walks around the neighborhood or to the dog park, and I have stayed in home as a pet sitter. My family has a dog and I am involved in her care and play time on a daily basis. I have a very flexible schedule and have lots of time for your pup. I am available for late morning and afternoon walks and playtime. I have an energetic 60 pound dog. I am used to walking a strong dog and can easily handle a dog that may pull. I am happy to walk your dog in your neighborhood and/or play in your yard. I will work with whatever routine your dog is accustomed to.

About: Every dog's different, so I meet them where they're at. Puppies, seniors, anxious dogs, whatever pace they need, that's the walk they get. Fresh water, a photo, and a quick check-in every time. I am usually always available on weekends, and throughout the week, so I will have a lot of free time to hang with your furry friends! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll follow your care instructions closely, keep their routine consistent, provide plenty of love and attention, and make sure they always have a safe, clean, and stress free environment while you’re away!

Melanie made a great first impression for us! She extended thoughtful details, did a pre-meet / greet, and connected with my pup well! (he’s a hyper boy, and can be fearful/bark w new people). She arrives on time and puts us at ease knowing Blue will be well cared for. Grateful for weekly walks.

About: From a young age, I've carried an empathetic, playful, and nurturing nature. As an experienced in-home kitten foster, life-long cat owner, and a certified dog lover, I view responsibilities as a pleasure because I greatly value the companionship of cats and dogs of all ages, shapes, sizes, conditions, and most importantly, personalities. I follow directions steadfastly but tend to go above and beyond to ensure the comfort of your pet(s)! I am free all days of the week, at most hours of the day at the convenience of pet owners in need of assistance. I am also free to board overnight! I serve wet food and treats (different types of treats according to the pet's preference) several times a day, clean the water bowl/dispenser out daily and allot outside time every few hours. For cats, I scoop the litter every night; for dogs, I go out on long walks multiple times a day, depending on the owner's instruction. For all animals, recreational time is vital, and so I do like to play with them a lot, whether it be outside, at a dog park, and/or with any trinkets.

I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy getting to know every animal’s personality. About: I’ve taken care of dogs within my family since I was 10 years old. I love to go for long walks and give them as much exercise as possible! My goal is to take away the stress of giving your pet enough time to get their energy out for the day. Though I’d love to have a dog of my own, it isn’t in the cards for me right now so I’d love to enjoy spending time with other people’s pets. At the moment, I am between full-time jobs until September so I am available all hours Monday-Friday! My weekends vary in availability but if you are looking for those days just ask in advance and I may be able to accommodate you. I love giving pets under my care all the attention they need, so I am happy to go on long walks around the neighborhood or bring them somewhere nearby if they have a favorite spot they love to walk. I am reliable, flexible with scheduling, and am eager to enjoy the company of the animals I meet.

About: I am a huge animal lover and have spent a lot of time rescuing homeless cats in my neighborhood. I have trapped 20 stray cats, vetted them, and found them homes. From this I have 7 of my own cats. I also have rescued two dogs from shelters. One is a Pitbull and the other an English Bull Dog. Growing up I always had pets around. As a Special Education Teacher I am available all weekdays after 5pm and I have complete open availability on weekends and school vacations (December, April). I have no problem with high energy or needy animals. I am comfortable cleaning up pet messes, playing, walking, and providing medicine if needed. I will do anything an animal needs.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs now for about 2 years as a way to help out family and friends while making an additional income. Let me know what time and day you would like my help and I will try my best to accommodate. I will work on weekends! When caring for dogs during a walk, visit, or overnight stay, I try my absolute best to follow the schedule/instructions put out for me, especially when caring for older dogs who may rely on a structured rountine. I will always contact you if there is something that concerns me, and I make sure to send occasional pictures of your pet, especially if they do something cute!

About: I have had lots of different types of animal experiences since I was a child including always having a cat in the household and volunteering with animal shelters. My specialty is cats but I have a few years experience with sitting and walking dogs as well. I am always up for a new challenge and am very capable and adaptable. I have worked in many animal shelters, as well as managed a cat shelter, so I am very comfortable approaching all animals. I have a very flexible schedule because I run my own cat oriented business and make my own hours. My whole life is animals, so I love to fit them into my life as much as possible. I currently only offer services in my clients’ homes, and to ensure that their pets are always safe and secure, I am very on top of communication and checking in with my pet parents. I like to review all instructions together to make sure I don’t have any questions and know exactly what contacts are (vet, ER, friends) for emergencies. I always respect other people’s space and will leave things exactly as I left them, if not better. Letting someone into your home to take care of your fur family requires a lot of trust and I feel honored when someone allows me that privilege.

Alex came over every weekday to walk and play with my Morkie, Kimchi, while I was in Scotland for a month. Alex sent me pictures of Kimchi and gave me a report on what they did every day -- it was great! I came home to a happy, relaxed dog, so I know he had a good time. I felt reassured that he was doing well, and I plan to have Alex continue to visit from time to time so they can keep up their friendship. This was the next best thing to having Kimchi with me! I highly recommend Alex.

About: I have been caring for dogs and cats since I was 12 years old. For over 10 years, neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and administer medication to their pets. I have a 12-pound Jack Russell mix named Luna, who is almost 4 years old and loves both people and other animals. I’ve had her for the past 3 and a half years, which has given me plenty of hands-on experience with puppies and young dogs. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and understand the patience and attention they may need. In addition, I have volunteered at animal shelters, where I cared for a wide variety of dogs and cats by feeding them, cleaning cages, walking them, and providing enrichment and playtime. I truly love working with animals and would be excited to meet your pet and build a trusting connection through exercise, play, and attentive care. I am currently in college for social work. I take my classes online and I have open availability to care for my clients and their animals. Trust and safety are two of my top priorities when it comes to taking care of your fur baby. I have an extensive amount of experience when it comes to caring for animals. I always treat them as if they were my own. I will frequently keep you updated when I walk your dog.

Hannah was phenomenal! Before she even began walking and dropping in on my dog she made me feel super at ease about leaving him. Melanie was so sweet with Raf and so genuinely excited to see him and take him on walks. She took amazing care of him and was very communicative about setting up walk times that worked every day with both our changing schedules. Raf is a rescue dog so he can be skittish and he felt completely safe with Melanie and always looked forward to his walks with her. If we need walks in this area again we will definitely rebook with Melanie.

Leaving another review for Sara because she has been such a huge help for my husband I! We work with Sara a weekly basis to take out our two large dogs. Sara is always proactive, timely, and great with our dogs. She makes sure they are well taken care of before, during and after their walks. Dog of our dogs are large and one has very high energy and Sara is able to care for them and keep them both safe. We truly appreciate Sara’s care and prompt communication style! I would highly recommend her services

Olivia is the PERFECT Rover! She is incredibly trustworthy, always on time, and communicates clearly and consistently. Most importantly, our dog absolutely loved her! Olivia walked our dog every morning for several weeks, and if she had not moved out of state, we would still be booking her without hesitation. There are so many flaky Rovers out there. Olivia is the exact opposite. She is reliable, caring, and professional. I cannot recommend her highly enough. If you get the chance to book Olivia, consider yourself (and your pup) very lucky!

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
