“Sandra was fantastic!! She was friendly, professional and great with our dog Maple. We had a last minute need and she came in clutch and would absolutely recommend her!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13 years old. Family and friends always ask me for help. I have grown up around animals and know their behaviors. I take care of 2 indoor cats on my own. I also help my mom and grandma with the strays around our house taking them to the vet spaying/neutering them. I originally wanted to be a veterinarian and did shadowing at the Northford Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Minott and dealt with medication and nail clipping. I understand the signs and situations of an animal that is scared or feels danger. I have helped foster kittens and puppies from strays, preparing them to be adopted. My mom has worked at the Central Veterinary Hospital for many years. She has taken me to work many times showing me the ins and outs of the hospital. I also have experience with oral medication helping my mom with our dogs! I’m enrolled into The University of Tampa full time, but I have the entire summer free from June-August. I am an active person and would love spending time out side with your pet! In your home I will respect your property/privacy. Whatever you need me to do for your furry pet I will do! I will make sure they’re safe, loved and cared for!

About: I have been owned by cats my entire life and have taken care of dogs of all kinds for family and friends for years. I am comfortable with giving medication to cats, including insulin shots. I've had 2 diabetic cats. I am also a Reiki Level 2 practitioner and can give reiki to pets. I have always been the go to pet sitter for my family and friends when they go on vacation. I'm known as the animal whisperer and can usually win over any animal! I am a home healthcare worker so I have a flexible schedule. I usually finish for the day between 2:30 and 3:30 and am available after that. I can be available during the work day (9-3) with advanced notice to schedule patients around pets! I can also be available some mornings earlier than 9 with advance notice. I will happily come to your home and play with and feed your cats and dogs. I will also walk your dogs and claen up after them. I am willing to give medication if necessary as well.
“Melanie made a great first impression for us! She extended thoughtful details, did a pre-meet / greet, and connected with my pup well! (he’s a hyper boy, and can be fearful/bark w new people). She arrives on time and puts us at ease knowing Blue will be well cared for. Grateful for weekly walks.”

About: I am a huge animal lover and have spent a lot of time rescuing homeless cats in my neighborhood. I have trapped 20 stray cats, vetted them, and found them homes. From this I have 7 of my own cats. I also have rescued two dogs from shelters. One is a Pitbull and the other an English Bull Dog. Growing up I always had pets around. I am a special education teacher working summer school. I have weekday availability from 1:30 PM into the evening and open weekend availability. Starting August 1st I will have daily open availability until August 24th. Beginning August 24th I will have a weeknight availability and open weekend availability. I have no problem with high energy or needy animals. I am comfortable cleaning up pet messes, playing, walking, and providing medicine if needed. I will do anything an animal needs.

About: I am a veterinary nurse as well as a certified dog trainer. I love animals of all shapes and sizes and will treat your pup as one of my own! I work from home. I do virtual dog training sessions and only work one day out of the house, so very easy for me to take care of your pup in between sessions. We have a fenced in yard with plenty of toys as well as going for daily walks in our very safe neighborhood. I also have two very friendly medium size pups who love to play.
“Melissa was wonderful to communicate with, her responses were always prompt and professional. She did an amazing job looking after my dog, Millie, going above and beyond to make sure she was looked after and comfortable, while I was away for the day.”

“Mary has done an excellent job. She shows up on time and gives our dog a nice walk. He seems glad to see her on those occasions when my wife was home at walk time. Happy to suggest her to others.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and currently care for my own Yorkshire Terrier puppy, Molly. Being a pet owner has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and paying close attention to a dog’s needs. As a college student and part-time employee, I am responsible, dependable, and committed to making every walk safe, fun, and enjoyable. I will treat your dog with the same love and care I give my own I’m currently a part-time employee and a college student, which gives me flexibility to provide reliable pet care. I’m available for dog walks during my free time, including evenings, weekends, and many weekdays. I always make sure each pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, and care during every visit. Your dog’s safety is my top priority. I always keep dogs securely leashed during walks, follow each owner’s instructions carefully, and provide fresh water if needed. I pay close attention to each dog’s behavior and avoid unsafe situations. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and the same care I give my own dog.

About: I’ve always had a cat & now I care for my small dog! I trained my own animals through the puppy stages & taken care of animals through all stages of life Im working part time & will be able to care for animals with 2 days notice. It’s important to keep a routine with animals, & will do everything I can to maintain balance.
“Anne Marie was excellent! She came to meet Ralph in advance on short notice, which was very helpful for us. Ralph took to her very quickly, and she was prompt with the visits, sent us photos, and fed our cats as well. We will definitely be using her again. Great experience.”

About: I grew up in a family with more pets than humans and loved every moment of it. Meeting new pups and kitties is my favorite way to spend a weekend :) I’m currently working part time and love to break the day up with a dog walk. Available for weekend house sitting and drop by visits. I’m always down for a stroll around the neighborhood with your dog or hours of feather wand games with your cat. Like most fur babies, I’m a total homebody and happy to hang out for hours giving head scratches.
“Alex came over every weekday to walk and play with my Morkie, Kimchi, while I was in Scotland for a month. Alex sent me pictures of Kimchi and gave me a report on what they did every day -- it was great! I came home to a happy, relaxed dog, so I know he had a good time. I felt reassured that he was doing well, and I plan to have Alex continue to visit from time to time so they can keep up their friendship. This was the next best thing to having Kimchi with me! I highly recommend Alex.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
