“Jen was an exceptional sitter for my cat! She was great at communicating and kept our apartment clean and tidy. On top of the normal care I asked for her to do, she went above and beyond by cleaning my cat’s face and brushing him. I loved that she sent videos during her visits. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Erin took amazing care of our 3 babies. She was extremely quick to respond and would spend 30-45 minutes with our dogs each visit and kept them company. She was very understanding when our plans would change slightly and had no issues adjusting the schedule. Highly recommend.”

“Crystal was absolutely amazing!!!! She was attentive to detail, reliable, kind & professional! She truly went above and beyond! Plus her photos and updates were top tier! Lol I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting/dog walking needs!”

“After meeting Sara we felt extremely comfortable having her drop in with our guy. She is kind, asked lots of questions and confirmed the appointment ahead of time. The day of she arrived on time and sent lots of pictures- our guy loved her so much he let her rub his belly! We highly recommend Sara!”

“I would highly recommend Laura to look after your pet! She was quick to respond to messages and happy to arrange a meet and greet ahead of taking care of my cat. He was well-cared for while I was away and I received such great photos from Laura during her check-in!”

“Sandy is terrific! My dog Mika took to her right away at their Meet & Greet and was happy to see her when she arrived to walk and feed her a couple of days later. She communicates promptly which I really appreciate. I'll definitely be hiring Sandy again.”

“Carly is a very professional and caring person. Her love for animals and the care she gives them really shows. The attention she has given Daisy and the updates she gives me daily shows how committed she is to giving the best service possible. I would recommend her to anyone if they need a hard working professional to look after their animal companion.”
“Hailey is fantastic! She’s reliable dependable and simply loves scooter! I know I can count on her when she says she’s gonna be there and I know my guy is gonna be treated exceptionally well! Cannot recommend her highly enough”

“Kelli was exactly what we are looking for! She followed all of our instructions and made some helpful suggestions that improved the life of our cat without being imposing. She even brought some new litter when we ran out! And she was able to provide insulin injections with very minor instruction. I will continue to trust her with the life and well being of our cat.”

“Jordan was a fantastic sitter who went above and beyond. In the initial meet and greet she asked all the right questions, and during the booking she always kept me up to date with detailed notes about my cat and happy photos. She was very accommodating when I had to extend my trip, and she was on top of things when some of the food ran low during the extended time. My cat is very happy and loves her! Will definitely book again as a trusted sitter.”

“Whitnee was fantastic with Echo! She was willing and ready to help me extremely last minute and took the extra time to make sure Echo had the care he needed! Thanks so much Whitnee!”
About: I currently volunteer at an animal shelter and love working with dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and demeanors! I also have some basic training experience through my dog trainer, who also specializes in service work and behavioral training. My personal dog, Toffee (basset hound!), lived to be 16, and my favorite time with her was the patient walks and TLC needed as she got older--happy to support your senior animals too:) A couple other tidbits: I have experience working with farm animals (chickens, ducks, goats, and alpacas!) and majored in Environmental Science in college. Looking forward to meeting your furry ones! I balance my full-time job (8:30-4) with pet care through Rover and at the animal shelter. I am happy to work with you to find good times (evenings and weekends included, depending on when). I prefer to meet or provide care at your home, but I also live in a very walkable neighborhood and have a dog park nearby. My house has a fenced-in yard and a sprinkler for the hotter days. While I do not currently have a crate in my personal vehicle, I am happy to get one if you are more comfortable. I also have close friends with dogs and cats if play dates are helpful too!
About: I have had lots of different types of animal experiences since I was a child including always having a cat in the household and volunteering with animal shelters. My specialty is cats but I have a few years experience with sitting and walking dogs as well. I am always up for a new challenge and am very capable and adaptable. I have worked in many animal shelters, as well as managed a cat shelter, so I am very comfortable approaching all animals. I have a very flexible schedule because I run my own cat oriented business and make my own hours. My whole life is animals, so I love to fit them into my life as much as possible. I currently only offer services in my clients’ homes, and to ensure that their pets are always safe and secure, I am very on top of communication and checking in with my pet parents. I like to review all instructions together to make sure I don’t have any questions and know exactly what contacts are (vet, ER, friends) for emergencies. I always respect other people’s space and will leave things exactly as I left them, if not better. Letting someone into your home to take care of your fur family requires a lot of trust and I feel honored when someone allows me that privilege.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds since I was 8 and haven’t met a dog I didn’t love. I spent the past 5 years living in NYC where I started dog walking and sitting part time before moving back to CT. I can handle all dogs of all ages and sizes. Accepting evening and weekend walks only. Same day / last minute bookings will be accepted depending on my availability. Fully booked for mid-day weekday walks. Kind and careful to all requests. Can take control in many different situations. Energetic and active where needed. Calming presence when it’s time to wind down.

About: I've pet-sat for dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, and guinea pigs since 2001. My sittings have ranged from a few hours to two weeks. I've sat for family, friends, and many parents here on Rover. My family has included two cats, Cleopatra and Caesar, and dogs Valentine, Athos, and Teddy. My goal as a sitter is to offer stability and enrichment while their parent is away. I'm available for drop-ins and overnights and happy to care for your home during the stay, watering plants, etc. My schedule is very flexible outside of my 9-5 at Yale. Why I love pet sitting Who doesn't love some fuzzy company? And I understand from watching our family pets how disorienting a kennel can be. In-home sitting puts pets (and you!) at ease when you're away, so they can enjoy the "vacation" just as much as you can! My experience administering medication I've given pill medication via pill packs and oral liquid medication via syringe. If your dog requires medication, happy to discuss. (In case you're wondering why my testimonials haven't been updated recently, it's because I took a break from Rover to be more available to sit for family and friends. Sadly, some of those lovely pets have passed away now. It means though that I have the availability to return to Rover and I'm happy to be back!) In my initial meeting with a family, I like to get a sense of the pet's routine to determine if I can recreate that for them while their parent is away. My schedule, aside from my 9-5, is dictated by the pet's needs. I prefer to care for a pet in their own home. Before accepting a new client, I like to meet the pet and the parent(s) to make sure we're all vibing. I determine routine/schedule/likes/dislikes with the parent(s) in advance and stay in touch if something needs to deviate, which is rare.
“Tarah was great with our two kitties! She was so easy to communicate with and our cats were well cared for. She provided lots of good photos of them playing. I look forward to booking her again in the future - highly recommend!”

“Hannah was great! She did morning check ins with my dog and was always great about writing detailed notes and providing plenty of pictures for the report. Very responsive to communication and followed instructions to a T! Would definitely book again with her.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Northford. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
