About: I have grown up around animals and have had both dogs and cats my whole life, as well as various types of small animals. I spent the last year working as an attendant at a Dog Daycare and Boarding center where I learned a lot more about caring for dogs in addition to my previous dog sitting experience. I have experience working with and handling dogs of all sizes and energy levels, specifically large dogs with lots of energy. I have a lot of patience for dogs who get anxious while their families are away and can help them feel as comfortable as possible. I rode horses for 10 years and For several years I worked leading pony rides and handling farm animals for a traveling petting zoo which has given me a well rounded understanding for taking care of animals in general. I am a college graduate and in college I would often take care of my friend’s animals when they were in class or away. At the moment I only have a cat and would love to get to spend more time with dogs again. I work in theatre as a prop and paint artist and a lot of jobs in the field are for a couple weeks at a time and are not always the most consistent. I have full availability on the weekends and have a very flexible schedule during the week, specifically in the morning and evenings but also can likely do mid day. I have helped my sister train her dog and can help continue any training and/or rules you have for your dog while walking and taking care of them. I can keep a close eye on them if they are likely to get into trouble or things they’re not supposed to. I will give your pets lot of love and attention while you’re away. I can also play with your dogs and help get their energy out during the day. My dog is very playful and I often have to run around with him in the yard and play with him in the house to help him calm down.

About: I have been living with dogs for my entire life and, since moving to Connecticut 6 months ago, I have been missing these furry friends! I have had the pleasure of working with 2 older dogs who had various age-related health conditions until the end of their lives and, in the last 4 years, have been able to raise and train 2 (very playful and mischievous) puppies. I work 9-5 in North Haven, CT and am available for early morning care and anytime after 6 pm during the work week. I am usually free all weekend and enjoy going on early morning walks and hikes! I find that with each dog, their preferences tend to guide my behavior around them. I have always been around dogs and puppies who required a lot of exercise and have bountiful amounts of personality and energy, but I also know that many pets, especially around new people, may require more time to warm up and may need extra care and attention. Ensuring the the owner's and dog's needs are met are my highest priority and I take extra care to note what a dog's daily and nightly routine is so to make sure I do not throw them off off from their daily life!
About: Avid animal lover my whole life. Always had multiple different types of pets growing up. Currently I am lucky enough to have 3 cats, a mini Australian shepard, and fish! Available part time at the moment in the mornings, evenings, or on my days off from my day job. Looking forward to meeting your fur baby! Your pets are my top priority when they are in my care. I would like to know about any allergies, health issues, or potential risks to your pet that might be in or around your home while they are under my supervision. I will be 100% committed and reliable for keeping your pet happy and safe while you are away.
“I found Michelle at the last minute and she responded within 10 minutes. She was able to accommodate a meet and greet and 2 dog walks for my little guys all in 3 days. She did great walking them and paying them lots of attention. Thanks Michelle!!!!!”

About: I am a huge animal lover and have spent a lot of time rescuing homeless cats in my neighborhood. I have trapped 20 stray cats, vetted them, and found them homes. From this I have 7 of my own cats. I also have rescued two dogs from shelters. One is a Pitbull and the other an English Bull Dog. Growing up I always had pets around. I am a special education teacher working summer school. I have weekday availability from 1:30 PM into the evening and open weekend availability. Starting August 1st I will have daily open availability until August 24th. Beginning August 24th I will have a weeknight availability and open weekend availability. I have no problem with high energy or needy animals. I am comfortable cleaning up pet messes, playing, walking, and providing medicine if needed. I will do anything an animal needs.
About: I’ve always loved animals and currently care for my own Yorkshire Terrier puppy, Molly. Being a pet owner has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and paying close attention to a dog’s needs. As a college student and part-time employee, I am responsible, dependable, and committed to making every walk safe, fun, and enjoyable. I will treat your dog with the same love and care I give my own I’m currently a part-time employee and a college student, which gives me flexibility to provide reliable pet care. I’m available for dog walks during my free time, including evenings, weekends, and many weekdays. I always make sure each pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, and care during every visit. Your dog’s safety is my top priority. I always keep dogs securely leashed during walks, follow each owner’s instructions carefully, and provide fresh water if needed. I pay close attention to each dog’s behavior and avoid unsafe situations. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and the same care I give my own dog.

About: Hello Rover customers, I have taken care of pets since I was a child and have taken care of my family’s fur babies since my kids were small. About: I grew up in a family with more pets than humans and loved every moment of it. Meeting new pups and kitties is my favorite way to spend a weekend :) I’m currently working part time and love to break the day up with a dog walk. Available for weekend house sitting and drop by visits. I’m always down for a stroll around the neighborhood with your dog or hours of feather wand games with your cat. Like most fur babies, I’m a total homebody and happy to hang out for hours giving head scratches.
“Raeven is soooo good with my fur baby Rocky. She has a calmness with Rocky and also gives great tips and advice to make my dog’s walking experience even better. I’m so grateful for her.”

About: Hello! I've been an avid dog lover since I can remember. I have taken care of family and friends pups when they are away. My passion and the companions of a dog has made me want to own a dog of my own. I have my own pup of two years now and know how important it is to leave them with someone who will take great care of them, be safe and of course loved. I work remote Mon-Fri so trust me when I say I have plenty of time to play and walk your pup. They will be in great hands and company! During the weekends, I love taking my pup to an open yet dog secluded park to run, play, and train. I do have long leashes for safety, but if you are not comfortable with it- no worries at all, just please let me know. I'm also available most weekends for boarding per request. I have a pup of my own for your pups company as well! In my home I have a crate and can help with training if requested. The pups are free to roam around the apartment/furniture, and I take out to walk every two hours or so. Your pups will be in good hands, but I do request if your pup has a scheduled routine or specific needs/behaviors to please let me know so I can adjust to their needs and behaviors.
“Thank you Christine for having the patience and putting in the effort it takes to get Puzzle to warm up to a person. He has a tough personality and I appreciate your understanding of that. Again, thank you for doing such a great job with him. Looking forward to the coming weeks!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
