About: I try to take parts of Cesar Milan's strategy with dogs specifically. Trying to not reward bad behavior. Making sure a pet can respect my boundaries. Currently have a dog walking client at Winding Brook Condominiums in Meriden. I’m there twice a day for 30 minute walks and play. I bought some balls for her so she can play. Have videos and lots of photos. I work flexible hours as an independent contractor so I make my own schedule. I am building my pet care business so I am signing up for a drone pilots license for pet recovery. I am also working on upgrading my vehicle to a minivan. I am offering pet sitting in your home until that can change to my home. I am needing different things done to my home before I can bring pets to my house.

“Tatum was soooo great with my quirky dog! She totally went above and beyond to make sure my nervous nelly was comfortable enough to eat and do her business. She also kept me updated on everything that was going on with my pup and my kitty. I’ll definitely work with Tatum again!”

About: I have grown up around animals and have had both dogs and cats my whole life, as well as various types of small animals. I spent the last year working as an attendant at a Dog Daycare and Boarding center where I learned a lot more about caring for dogs in addition to my previous dog sitting experience. I have experience working with and handling dogs of all sizes and energy levels, specifically large dogs with lots of energy. I have a lot of patience for dogs who get anxious while their families are away and can help them feel as comfortable as possible. I rode horses for 10 years and For several years I worked leading pony rides and handling farm animals for a traveling petting zoo which has given me a well rounded understanding for taking care of animals in general. I am a college graduate and in college I would often take care of my friend’s animals when they were in class or away. At the moment I only have a cat and would love to get to spend more time with dogs again. I work in theatre as a prop and paint artist and a lot of jobs in the field are for a couple weeks at a time and are not always the most consistent. I have full availability on the weekends and have a very flexible schedule during the week, specifically in the morning and evenings but also can likely do mid day. I have helped my sister train her dog and can help continue any training and/or rules you have for your dog while walking and taking care of them. I can keep a close eye on them if they are likely to get into trouble or things they’re not supposed to. I will give your pets lot of love and attention while you’re away. I can also play with your dogs and help get their energy out during the day. My dog is very playful and I often have to run around with him in the yard and play with him in the house to help him calm down.

About: I have been living with dogs for my entire life and, since moving to Connecticut 6 months ago, I have been missing these furry friends! I have had the pleasure of working with 2 older dogs who had various age-related health conditions until the end of their lives and, in the last 4 years, have been able to raise and train 2 (very playful and mischievous) puppies. I work 9-5 in North Haven, CT and am available for early morning care and anytime after 6 pm during the work week. I am usually free all weekend and enjoy going on early morning walks and hikes! I find that with each dog, their preferences tend to guide my behavior around them. I have always been around dogs and puppies who required a lot of exercise and have bountiful amounts of personality and energy, but I also know that many pets, especially around new people, may require more time to warm up and may need extra care and attention. Ensuring the the owner's and dog's needs are met are my highest priority and I take extra care to note what a dog's daily and nightly routine is so to make sure I do not throw them off off from their daily life!

About: I have owned dogs and cats my whole life. At one point we had 4 dogs in the house! I am a dog-lover above all, but I also LOVE cats and understand them and their boundaries. I look forward to making new furry friends :) I currently work part-time on Saturdays and am a grad student during the Fall and Spring. Pet care is an AWESOME addition to my open schedule! I have overnight “cat-sat” on and off for the last two years. I do not leave any messes and am respectful of others’ spaces. I keep to myself and read books or do homework online when I stay the night somewhere—as well as hanging with critters!! I am professional and respectful about the work I do🩷
“Whitnee was fantastic with Echo! She was willing and ready to help me extremely last minute and took the extra time to make sure Echo had the care he needed! Thanks so much Whitnee!”

About: Hello Rover customers, I have taken care of pets since I was a child and have taken care of my family’s fur babies since my kids were small. I am currently left with my senior cat at home but would love to take great care of your beloved fur babies. I am currently self employed and work part time during the weekdays. I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate as needed with enough notice! I have a fenced in yard for my animals if needed but I am very careful in customer’s homes and make sure to not leave without checking my surroundings first so no animals gets out the door.
“Alex watched my dogs for several days while I was out of town and took fantastic care of them. She played fetch every time she went by, sent several pictures, and let me know anything out of the ordinary. I would highly recommend letting Alex take care of your fur babies!”

About: I have been caring for dogs and cats since I was 12 years old. For over 10 years, neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and administer medication to their pets. I have a 12-pound Jack Russell mix named Luna, who is almost 4 years old and loves both people and other animals. I’ve had her for the past 3 and a half years, which has given me plenty of hands-on experience with puppies and young dogs. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and understand the patience and attention they may need. In addition, I have volunteered at animal shelters, where I cared for a wide variety of dogs and cats by feeding them, cleaning cages, walking them, and providing enrichment and playtime. I truly love working with animals and would be excited to meet your pet and build a trusting connection through exercise, play, and attentive care. I am currently in college for social work. I take my classes online and I have open availability to care for my clients and their animals. Trust and safety are two of my top priorities when it comes to taking care of your fur baby. I have an extensive amount of experience when it comes to caring for animals. I always treat them as if they were my own. I will frequently keep you updated when I walk your dog.

About: I have over 20 years of professional experience in animal care, including work in shelters, veterinary settings, daycare, grooming, and private pet sitting. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and small animals in a variety of environments and understand how to keep pets safe, calm, and comfortable. My background includes administering medications, monitoring for signs of illness, conducting behavior assessments, supporting adoptions, and working closely with veterinarians and animal welfare teams. I’ve also provided private dog walking and in-home pet sitting since 2015. In my home, dogs receive attentive, calm care in a safe environment. I’m especially experienced with small, senior, and sensitive dogs, and I’m comfortable administering medications and helping nervous or shy pets feel secure. For dogs who enjoy it, I love taking them on long walks and nature hikes to provide both physical exercise and mental enrichment. As a long-time dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I provide thoughtful, individualized care, clear communication, and regular updates so you can feel confident while you’re away. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-in visits, dog walking, and boarding. I’m able to provide morning, midday, and evening care, including weekends. Because I spend most of my time at home caring for my own small dogs, I’m able to give visiting pets consistent attention, regular walks, and a calm, predictable routine. My home is calm, clean, and set up with pets’ safety and comfort in mind. I have extensive experience safely managing multiple animals and carefully supervising introductions when needed. Dogs can be separated into different areas of the home if necessary, and I am able to crate dogs safely if that is part of their normal routine. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and exercise needs. My goal is to provide a secure, low-stress environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
