“Caitlin went above and beyond to make sure our elderly house cat, Chani, was very well cared for while we were out of town. Chani is a very affectionate cat and needs lots of human contact. Caitlin showered her with attention and affection. Except for her regular humans' presence, Chani had everything she usually does on a daily basis including pets, backrubs, brushes, and kisses, even a walk outside with her harness. Being an elderly kitty, she has to take a blood pressure pill every day or her blood pressure will spike and she'll start to lose her vision, so we're very thankful that Caitlin is experienced with administering medication to pets. Chani took to Caitlin right away and immediately felt at ease with her. We know this because of the many pictures and videos Caitlin sent us showing Chani being at ease and affectionate. When our flight home was delayed for several hours Caitlin graciously agreed to an emergency extra visit to make sure Chani took her medicine and had her dinner. That was really great. She is a great pet sitter and we highly recommend her.”

Animals feel safest when their world doesn't change while you're away — same walk times, same feeding schedule, same bedtime ritual — so I take the time to learn what "normal" looks like for yours specifically. These days I share my home with two rescue cats — Cucumber, an 8-lb grumpy old man who insists on being called "a good boy," and Daisy, his partner in running the household — and Jeffrey, a sweet Blue Heeler mix with plenty of opinions to bark about. From there, I just stick close to what you've told me: feeding on schedule, walks or playtime as usual, doors and gates checked every time I'm in and out.
