“Sarah is a great person. After meeting her, I felt very comfortable with her watching my dog who is loved like a child. She went over and beyond with her while I was out of town for the day. She even sent some awesome pictures that made me happy to see she was well taken care of while I was gone”

“Simon was a phenomenal caretaker for my guy Cornelius. Checked in and out with every visit, communicated amazingly throughout the entire time. He definitely has a knack for taking great doggo pics. Was also able to accommodate a last minute booking and extension of service due to travel delays. Highly recommend booking with him if you want someone caring about your dogs much as you do while you’re not there!”

“Danielle watched our dog Finley while we were away on spring break. We both felt immediately comfortable with her on our first visit. He was very well cared for. I highly recommend her and will be using her again!”

“Caitlin was an amazing cat-sitter and I will definitely be requesting her services in the future! She was very responsive through the app before and during the time I was gone. “Ebony is so rare. They update and take care of your dog and cat like they were their own. I’m so grateful to have someone get to know my dog’s personality and be patient with them while I was away. It makes travel and being away more enjoyable knowing they are in good hands. Appreciate it more than you know. Mary Louise”

“Hanna is amazing! This is the second time she’s watched our cat and we had some curveballs this time with my cat getting sick. Hanna rolled with the punches and monitored our cat more than normal and even arranged her schedule to take her to the vet. She is super reliable and communicative and our cat loves her! Would absolutely recommend and will be booking her for any future trips!”

“Always puts my mind at ease when I have to travel out of town at the last minute and I know Daphane is watching George. Thorough, lots of pictures and good communication.”

“Deana did a great job checking in on my cat over Christmas! She made sure to send “rover card” updates with pictures and a note of how it went each day. I would definitely recommend her!”

About: What sets me apart is that I’m a dedicated dog owner myself, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. As the owner of a golden retriever, I have hands-on daily experience with exercise needs, routines, leash walking, playtime, and providing loving attention. I’m patient, dependable, and focused on making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and happy during our time together. Whether your dog is energetic and needs an active walk or prefers a slower pace, I can adjust to their needs and personality. I also understand the importance of communication and will keep you updated so you feel confident while your pet is in my care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work remotely as a teacher, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of opportunities throughout the day for walks and check-ins. I already care for my own dog daily and take him out four times a day, making sure he stays comfortable and active with essentials like his water bottle, shoes, and cooling hat when needed. Because pet care is already a regular part of my routine, I’m experienced with maintaining consistent schedules, exercise, hydration, and attentive care. This allows me to easily provide dependable walks and personalized attention for other pets as well. I provide attentive, personalized care based on each pet’s routine and comfort level. In a client’s home, I make sure pets feel safe and relaxed by keeping them on their normal schedule for walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of attention. I also keep their space clean, refresh water bowls, and follow any specific instructions for medications or special care. During walks, I prioritize safety, hydration, and making sure each dog gets the right pace and exercise for their needs. My goal is always to give pets loving, dependable care while helping owners feel confident and updated while they’re away.

“Ashley was so easy to work with and took such good care of my boy. It was my wedding night, and my dog was the ring bearer, but I needed someone to take care of him for a little while during the reception. She made the process so stress free. Just an invaluable peace of mind during the chaos of a wedding! Would highly recommend her to take care of your furbabies.”

About: I've had dogs since I was a little kid. As a child I was the one that always took care of our dogs growing up. I'm currently the very proud owner of two very special rescue dogs. Both my dogs have traumatic past and It's pretty incredible to see how well they are doing now! Before moving to New Orleans, I was a volunteer at The Franklin County Dog Shelter back in Columbus, Ohio. Volunteering there it was a requirement to complete Fear Free Shelter training as well as The Leash Reactive Dog training. I've never met a dog that I don't love. Big, small, peppy, mellow, young or senior. I'm ready to meet all of them! My schedule is very flexible and last minute bookings are definitely worth checking in when the need arises! I have dependable transportation and excellent attendance! I would not bring any other pets over to your house. Your best friend will have 100% of my attention for the entirety of my visit! And if you would like pictures, I can send as many as you want from the visits!
“Stacey and Patrick were amazing with our two dogs. They were incredibly professional and followed our guidelines to the letter. They were so kind and loving to our dogs. They payed close attention to the details of each dog's very specific needs. I was able to be completely comfortable that my dogs were cared for and loved. Highly, highly recommend them.”
“Sarah was great with my 5 1/2 month old kitten. She was able to play and cuddle with him during his first time apart from his family and he was in great spirits when we came home!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Orleans
There is no one else in the world I trust as much with my children as I do Jan. I genuinely know he’s going to put their interests first, and he’s going to look after my house to boot. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He’s a good human and a great sitter.
Cristina was awesome with our two kitties while we were on vacation this week! She’s very communicative and made sure to do all the random little tasks we asked her to do each morning/evening, as well as playing with the kitties. The cats were in great hands and seemed very happy and well cared for when we got home. Thank you Cristina!!!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New Orleans. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
