“Daphne is fantastic with our Goldendoodle puppy. She comes twice a week to let him out and get in some playtime while we’re at work. She is reliable, trustworthy, and clearly cares about our boy. Highly recommend!”

“Ebony is so rare. They update and take care of your dog and cat like they were their own. I’m so grateful to have someone get to know my dog’s personality and be patient with them while I was away. It makes travel and being away more enjoyable knowing they are in good hands. Appreciate it more than you know. Mary Louise”

“Deana does an excellent job entertaining and enriching on her drop in visits. She is very thorough when following care instructions and in her summaries of her visits!”

About: I provide attentive, individualized care designed to keep your dog's routine as consistent and comfortable as possible while you're away. Because I work from home and intentionally keep my boarding capacity small, I'm able to provide plenty of companionship, supervision, exercise, and individual attention throughout the day. To help you feel connected while you're away, I provide regular photo and video updates throughout your dog's stay. Every boarding also concludes with a personalized summary of their meals, walks, potty habits, behavior, and overall experience, so you know exactly how their stay went. I share my home with Tully, my friendly, well-socialized Golden Retriever. Because this is his home too, I prioritize good matches and a calm, comfortable environment for both resident and visiting dogs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. As a university instructor with a flexible schedule, I have the flexibility to provide frequent walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. I care for every dog as an individual, following their normal routine as closely as possible while providing regular photo updates and a personalized boarding summary at the end of each stay. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priorities. I care for every dog as an individual by following their normal feeding, potty, exercise, and sleep routines as closely as possible. I require proof of current rabies vaccination before boarding to help maintain a safe environment for every pet in my home. I provide regular photo and video updates throughout each stay so you can have peace of mind while you’re away, and every boarding concludes with a personalized summary of your dog’s stay. My goal is to create a calm, clean, and welcoming environment where your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for like family.
“As always Caitlin took good care of Lola while we were out of town. She made sure to feed her and take care of cleaning out the litter box. Lola also received plenty of belly rubs and pets in our absence.”

“Simon was a phenomenal caretaker for my guy Cornelius. Checked in and out with every visit, communicated amazingly throughout the entire time. He definitely has a knack for taking great doggo pics. Was also able to accommodate a last minute booking and extension of service due to travel delays. Highly recommend booking with him if you want someone caring about your dogs much as you do while you’re not there!”

“Robin did an awesome job with my baby King!! She was very attentive and had no problem showing King extra love and attention. I will be contacting her again in the future”

“Sarah is a wonderful dog sitter! I’ve had to call her last minute a few times and she is always quick to respond. She sends the best updates and I can tell she really cares about the pets she sees. I would absolutely recommend her to take care of your pet!”

“Hanna is great! Our cat really warmed up to her and we felt good knowing she was there to spend time! She handled everything really smoothly and sent lots of pictures. I would absolutely recommend Hanna for your pet care needs!”

“Stacy and Patrick came over twice to take care of our pup, Maka, while we were gone for a night. When we met them before booking, they were very receptive to everything we went over with them from quirks with our house to quirks with our dog! Maka also liked them both right away which is what we cared about most because it is very rare that we use dog sitter services and she can be a bit hesitant with strangers. Everything went very smoothly and I'll definitely reach out to them again if we need a sitter!”

“Danielle watched our dog Finley while we were away on spring break. We both felt immediately comfortable with her on our first visit. He was very well cared for. I highly recommend her and will be using her again!”

About: Animals have been part of my life since before I can remember — one of my earliest memories is our Bernese Mountain Dog happily dragging me down the block. I've kept animals close ever since, so I've got real, hands-on experience with pets at every life stage, from housebreaking a new puppy to helping an arthritic senior get comfortable on the stairs. Friends have been handing me their dogs for years too — weekend trips, last-minute favors — so caring for someone else's pet like my own isn't new territory for me. I offer drop-in visits and house sitting, and however we're spending time together, my goal is the same: keep your pet's routine as close to normal as possible. Animals feel safest when their world doesn't change while you're away — same walk times, same feeding schedule, same bedtime ritual — so I take the time to learn what "normal" looks like for yours specifically. These days I share my home with two rescue cats — Cucumber, an 8-lb grumpy old man who insists on being called "a good boy," and Daisy, his partner in running the household — and Jeffrey, a sweet Blue Heeler mix with plenty of opinions to bark about. Expect photo and video updates throughout our time together, plus extra playtime worked in whenever your pet's up for it. Every animal is different, and I take the time to read their cues and meet them where they're at. Some want a full-on wrestling match, others just want quiet company. There's no better feeling than when an animal decides you're good people. My weekdays are anchored around an office schedule, with an hour lunch break free for a midday check-in when it fits, a nice bonus for pets who need a little extra attention during the day. Mon-Weds I'm in the office; Thurs and Fri vary week to week, but I can typically work remotely (just ask, and I'll confirm based on my schedule). All evenings and weekends are open for pet care. I try to keep a consistent routine so I can offer reliable, dependable care around your pet's needs. Most of my care happens in your home, with drop-in visits and overnight house sitting, so I start by getting a feel for your routines, your entry points, and any house rules that matter to you. From there, I just stick close to what you've told me: feeding on schedule, walks or playtime as usual, doors and gates checked every time I'm in and out. Mostly it comes down to paying attention to your pet, your space, and anything that seems off
“Elizabeth was prompt with her visits and reports. She made me feel secure about being away from Tula. Everything was in order when we returned. I would trust her to check on her again if needed.”

“Jennifer has been there when I needed her most. As a biologist with unpredictable fieldwork I appreciate it SO SO much!! I love the rover reviews she leaves after every check in and she takes great pictures too”

“Ellen did a great job taking care of our 3 cats - kept consistent schedule, sent lots of pictures, and managed to get our more introverted cat to play. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Sarah was a great sitter, really communicative and attentive to my two kitties. She sent detailed updates and pictures with each visit so I knew my guys were well taken care of. Excellent service, would use again!”

“Elizabeth was amazing! She and Ruby got along great, Elizabeth was great at letting us know exactly how she was doing and didn't hesitate to clean up any of Ruby's accidents. We will definitely be using Elizabeth in the future!”

Caitlin is GREAT with my kitty Louie. I felt so bad leaving him by himself for 2 weeks. Especially since he will have to stay in the house, when he likes going outside. BUT she stopped in twice a day and I got pictures of him playing. When I got home he was (and is) happy to see me and better than ever...Everything was perfect... She is my regular Louie sitter

Delaney is truly the best. This is the second time she watched Gwen and I feel like she cares for her like her own! She’s always taking many pictures and leaving great updates. She went above and beyond, is super flexible, and I will continue to use her whenever I am out of town. Thank you so much!!

Laine did everything I asked of her for my kitties in a way that opened my eyes to new methods of expertise. I’d like to give her a high recommendation on her level of care. I knew my kitties (that turn 1 yrs old this month btw) were in great hands. Thank you, Laine 😸

Jan was absolutely fantastic. I have a very unique pack of working and primitive breed dogs, and they definitely aren't the easiest group to care for. After just one meet-and-greet, Jan understood their personalities and made both me and my dogs feel completely at ease. What really impressed me was that he confidently took them on walks,...something that very few Rover sitters I've worked with have been comfortable doing. He handled each dog's quirks with patience, confidence, and a calm demeanor that my dogs responded to immediately. It's rare to find someone who truly understands working breeds and dogs with unique personalities, but Jan absolutely does. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him, especially if you have high-energy, independent, or quirky dogs that need someone experienced and confident. I'll definitely be booking with him again.
We had a wonderful experience with Cristina! She was communicative, thorough, and took amazing care of our cat, who requires multiple eye drop medications each day. We appreciated the updates and felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring hands. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
