“This is the second time we had Jenny check in on our cats while we went out of town, and I cannot tell you how much peace of mind it brings me when we are away! She goes above and beyond and makes it so easy. I used to really stress on trips about my kitties back home, and even lose sleep over worrying about them - but not anymore. We are so glad we found Jenny!”

“Caitlin is awesome! She took care of my 16-year old cat for three days. She sent me detailed updates and photos everyday. I definitely will ask her to cat sit Zippy again.”

“Jessica is the absolute best! I would never trust anyone else with my 4 fur babies! They all love her. She takes the extra time to get to know them and meet their individual (spoiled) needs! They really love her! I always feel secure, knowing Jessica has them taken care of! 10 STARS!”

“Deana did an excellent job caring for my cats and fish while I was away. She is easy to communicate with and asks detailed questions about their care. Highly recommend!”

About: *Pros with booking my service*: ~I am a full time pet sitter! ~Experience! (Ive been doing this for 6 years) ~Professionalism (I was a lawyer before leaving law to focus on part-time travel and full time pet sitting 😉) ~Trust (The majority of my clients are repeat clients) Hospitality and care go hand in hand with my pet-sitting service. For a house sit, expect your home to nicer than when you left it. Your fur babies will be relaxed and happy to see you when you return having been lovingly cared for in your absence. I will strive to uphold whichever boundaries you h have set up for your pup and work to reinforce training. Have your pup stay with a familiar face while you're away! In addition to personal experience with animals over the years, I have professional experience volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. One of the largest animal rehabilitation clinics in the world. I hope I can be someone you wholeheartedly trust with the care of your beloved furry one. I currently work full time as a pet sitter in addition to small freelance work so my schedule is flexible. On weekdays I will be gone for short periods of time but can be back every couple hours. I always make sure to get my pups set up when I leave the house. I'm a very hands on pet sitter. I understand the needs of animals and their lil personalities intuitively and I like to check in to make sure they are safe and happy.
“Ebony is so rare. They update and take care of your dog and cat like they were their own. I’m so grateful to have someone get to know my dog’s personality and be patient with them while I was away. It makes travel and being away more enjoyable knowing they are in good hands. Appreciate it more than you know. Mary Louise”

“Cristina is amazing! A great communicator and wonderful with my cats. I have a blind cat and Cristina knew what to do with her and how to interact with her. I would trust my cats to her again.”

“There is no one else in the world I trust as much with my children as I do Jan. I genuinely know he’s going to put their interests first, and he’s going to look after my house to boot. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He’s a good human and a great sitter.”
“Sarah was great!! This was the second time she watched our pets (1 dog, 2 cats and a fish). She checked in on them multiple times a day, sent us updates, and followed the detailed notes we left her. We felt like they were in such great hands that we could actually enjoy our trip without worrying about if they were getting the care we needed. We'll definitely book Sarah next time we travel!”

“Great job, Cody! We felt perfectly at ease leaving our precious "girls" with you! Thank you for your attention to detail and attentiveness, they were extremely well cared for.”

“Lindsey took excellent care of my cats, who are especially needy! She spent a lot of time with them and clearly gave them lots of love while I was away. Thank you Lindsey!”

“This was my first time booking Faith and it couldn’t have gone smoother! She made me feel confident my pups were in good hands and she proved it. The thoughtful updates and pictures were so exciting to see. I would highly recommend!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was 6 years old. I currently have 3 dogs, a cat, and a chinchilla in my family that I care for. I absolutely adore all animals. I work for a nature institute and have a lot of experience meeting the needs of and caring for a variety of animals. I can care for dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, and birds. I work full time, Monday through Friday. I am available for drop in visits and day care after 5:30 on weekdays. I am available most weekends at any time. I have 2 housemates that love dogs and cats. Your pet will be given a lot of love and attention from us. We have a small backyard but a good walk around the neighborhood will always be given!
“Sage claimed he didn’t have any experience with cats but he took care of Sophie without a hitch. He is courteous, punctual and dependable and provided all the care and nurturing she needed. His report cards showed a contented cat, and he was considerate in keeping our home neat. We will gladly ask Sage to come care for Sophie in the future.”

“First time using Rover and Renee did not disappoint. She provided great communication every day and sent pictures of each drop-in visit. Krieger can be somewhat anxious in new situations, but he took to Renee immediately. She went above expectations by taking him for a walk (which he absolutely LOVES) each time she came over. You can tell by the pictures that he was quite content. Would definitely use Renee again in the future.”
“Thank you so much! I really appreciate the thoroughness and the kindness and the prompt visits! I will definitely be requesting you again when I have to go out of town!”

“Adam did a great job of caring for Kylo and Gary when we were away on vacation! We booked him for drop in visits, and his report card updates were great, and we felt comfortable with him in our home with the cats! Would book again in the future!”

There is no one else in the world I trust as much with my children as I do Jan. I genuinely know he’s going to put their interests first, and he’s going to look after my house to boot. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He’s a good human and a great sitter.
Gerome's natural ability to commune with animals was present during both drop off and pick up of my cat. I returned to find my selective/discerning sweet pea snuggled up with her pet sitter in a relaxed and trusting pose. She did not want to come back with me! I will choose Gerome in the future to care for my love. Gerome was highly communicative during my time away from my cat. She sent me many photo updates, which allowed me to feel at ease during our separation.
Sydney did an amazing job taking care of our cats while we were away. She kept us updated, and went above and beyond on taking care of our cats and making sure everything went smoothly. 100% recommend Sydney, she’ll treat your pets like they’re her own!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Terrytown. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
