“Jolene was a dream come true. She went above and beyond. She took care of our little one as if it were her own dog. She kept us updated with lots of pictures. She was responsible and meticulous about every detail. We're already signed up to use her again! Highly, highly recommend.”

“Davied was an excellent dog sitter, who provided excellent updates! He also cared for our home and rolled with the punches when there was a poop accident in the home. Any pet would be safe and loved in his care.”

“Riah was amazing with our nervous dog, Rue. Rue often takes a little time to warm up to new people, and she seemed to feel comfortable with Riah right away--it's clear she has great experience with dogs that need a little extra time and attention. She stayed at our house for a full week and provided excellent care. We will definitely reach out to her again for future stays. She was responsive, left our house in perfect condition, and provided daily updates on Rue with pictures. We could not have asked for a better sitter experience. We would recommend her services!”

“Quinn is an excellent house-sitter! They were very communicative and took terrific care of our 13-year-old dog (who is reactive to other animals) and two chickens. Our house was also well cared for over the long holiday weekend. I highly recommend Quinn for any of your petcare needs! Will definitely book again.”

“Anna has watched our cat several times and this time we asked her to house-sit so our dog could stay home too. Her love for animals is infectious and I wasn’t worried about either pet for a moment while we were out of town! Anna is the best!!”

“Kara is wonderful! Very knowledgeable with dogs and will take great care of your pups. Timely, good communication, and highly reliable. She also left our house looking so clean and organized. Our dogs really enjoyed their time with Kara and we highly recommend her for dog sitting.”

“Megan is super wonderful and both our dog and cat liked her a lot! Leading up to the dates that she watched Bentley and Blueberry, she was very communicative and was also very helpful in answering all of my questions (this was my first time using Rover). She stayed overnight for 4 nights and sent me great updates each day. She was also very kind and did some tidying up before we arrived home from our trip. She was very flexible and was happy to stay a bit longer if I had any major travel delays. Both Bentley and Blueberry loved her and it was very reassuring to know that my animals had someone there to both take good care of them and keep them company!”

“Booking with Justin was our first time to use Rover. We’ve always had friends or family stay at our house and cat sit for us so we were a little nervous. We read a lot of reviews and then booked an initial meeting with Justin a few months ago. We felt really comfortable and our cat clearly liked him. We’ve now just returned from our three week trip — our house was in impeccable condition and our cat was happy and well cared for. He sent us pictures everyday and a couple of videos as well. Overall, I have to say that it was actually BETTER to have Justin than friends or family stay, and we have already booked him for our next trip. We couldn’t be any happier with his care.”

“Kathleen really is the best! I’d give her 6/5 stars if I could. She was not only timely with the girls’ schedule, she sent us updates everyday along with pictures of them. We could tell how much she cared for the girls and we can’t thank her enough. Our cat was dealing with some vomiting issues, but Kathleen was on top of keeping us updated and making sure she was doing ok. We can’t recommend her enough!”

“Sofía was great! One of my dogs is quite nervous around new people and Sofia was great with her. She provided regular updates and pictures. My dogs were relaxed and happy when I came home. I would recommend her!”

About: I have many years experience with many kind of animals, as well as taking care of senior cats and dogs with health issues and medication needs. I'm have also worked with and owned rescue pets who need careful awarenes to understand triggers. I hold a Pet CPR and First Aid certification through American Redcross, and have volunteered at a human society for several years. I will get to know your pets special personalities, and know how important it is to maintain their regular routines! I work full time, but live and work in the neighborhood. My range is set close so that I can take a break and come check in on, walk, feed and play with your pets! I'm flexible with times throughout the day, very reliable and I enjoy getting to know neighbors and their pets. I love getting to spend more time with animals as I am currently petless for the first time in years! I follow instructions well and make sure to follow all directions to provide your pet with the routine they rely on. I know how important it is to maintain that routine while your pet is stressed with your absence, but still it fun! I have watched others animals for years, and have consistently been told that folks wouldn't trust anyone else! I also have had and taken care of multiple rescue animals with triggers and can learn how to recognize and adapt to make them feel safe.
“John is a reliable and an amazing house, dog and cat sitter. My husband and I were gone for 2 1/2 weeks. John would text with any questions, and sent pictures of the pets. Introduced himself to a few of my neighbors, which I encouraged, so Sounder could play with his dog buddies, and when we arrived home, everything was neat and tidy, just how we left it. A very nice and responsible, young man I would hire him again in the heartbeat!”

“olivia house sat and watched my two cats for 2ish days over a holiday weekend— one of them is a little socially anxious fella who needs not one but two different kinds of medications, and they were completely up to the task! the other one is a fairly confident guy who thrives on routine and outlets to let off steam and it was very apparent that olivia cared to maintain that for him. i received lots of pictures and videos and updates and at no point felt like my babies were lacking in attention/care in olivia’s presence. i would be glad to use their services again :)”

“It was great to have Olivia watch my two dogs during a weekend getaway. She was patient with them as they got comfortable with her and then settled in nicely. Not only were the dogs taken care of and updated provided daily but my apartment was left extremely clean and tidy. Would have Olivia watch my dogs any time.”

“Angel took great care of our 2 dogs & 2 birds while we were in Katmai, AK! It was so reassuring to me, as we have a 13 yo Newfy who is declining. Our dogs love him and even my “cage-protective” birds allowed Angel to sing to them and hold them! My birds do NOT usually let anybody hold them. Angel communicated with us throughout our trip often. We returned home to happy and healthy dogs! Without reservation, I highly recommend Angel’s dogsitting services- he is excellent! Nancy”
“Mandy took great care of Neko who takes lots of meds and gets separation anxiety. She is quick to communicate and transparent about her schedule, which I appreciate!”

Tom watched my dog over night at my place recently and I'll definitely be reaching out to him again in the future. He took good care of my dog, communicated well and the whole thing went very smoothly. My dog can be a bit of a challenge at times but he didn't have any issues. Thanks Tom!
Rebecca did an amazing job staying with our pitty Diva. She was extremely communicative and provided lots of updates. She took care of the house and was a great over night sitter. We would definitely book her again and recommend her to any one else especially working with extra nervous or excited dogs. Thanks Rebecca!

Adriane was wonderful with our cat and dog. She left the house exactly as she found it (spotless!) and even put away the daybed, removed the sheets, and offered to wash the used towels. She also stayed a little longer so they wouldn’t be alone while I was on my way home. To me, that shows someone who truly goes the extra mile and genuinely cares about pets. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her!

This was the first time that I left my cats with a non family member. Kathleen did a great job asking thoughtful questions, approaching the cats gently and communicating with me while I was gone. Everything was tidy upon my return and the cats were well cared for.

Wesley was wonderful! This was our first time leaving our pets with someone they didn’t know, so we were really nervous about how they’d do. With Wesley’s updates, it was clear that they were happy and at ease. Our very stand-offish cat came around to him, and our very anxious dog was clearly happy and at ease. 100% would book with Wesley again!

Katie was so great with my sensitive senior pitbull and fairly active adult chihuahua mix. She was in great communication, especially as a minor medical issue came up for the senior dog and kept me apprised of other minor issues, handling everything with great care. Would definitely trust Katie to care for the again.

Five stars! Machele took excellent care of Benny, our Lab, and Mocha, our 14-year-old Puggle. Machele was extremely thorough, asked lots of detailed questions ahead of time, and carefully planned for anything unexpected that might come up while we were away. Machele communicated clearly throughout the stay and sent us lots of photos, so we always knew the dogs were happy and doing well. We felt completely comfortable leaving Benny and Mocha in Machele’s care and would absolutely hire her again!

Emily was very accommodating for my very last minute request. She was able to come over the day I left and got along just great with my dog Bandit.🙂 I received daily pictures of Bandit out and about and was able to communicate that a Chewy shipment had arrived. Emily was able to go get it and provide new treats to Bandit. Emily is very friendly, easy to talk and text with, and was able to give me any updates I requested. She was even able to work with another Rover pet sitter to switch off for a second week, coordinating key hand-off. Fortunately, I'd used the other sitter before, so introductions with Bandit were unnecessary. I will definitely use Emily again, assuming Bandit is still around that long. He is 15 already. 😕 Thanks Emily!

Nahiely (and her husband) are truly wonderful with our puppy Kit. It was hard to leave her for two weeks, but we knew she was in excellent hands. Nahiely regularly sent updates and photos, helped continue Kit’s puppy training, and took great care of our home. We are so grateful to her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Meridian on Rover is $65.61 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Meridian walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Meridian maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Meridian choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meridian. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
