âKathleen really is the best! Iâd give her 6/5 stars if I could. She was not only timely with the girlsâ schedule, she sent us updates everyday along with pictures of them. We could tell how much she cared for the girls and we canât thank her enough. Our cat was dealing with some vomiting issues, but Kathleen was on top of keeping us updated and making sure she was doing ok. We canât recommend her enough!â

âMargaret watched my nervous dog Taffy for a week, and Taffy warmed up to her quickly. Margaret was responsive, respectful and reliable. I would not hesitate to recommend Margaret for house sitting.â

âVictoria was lovely to work with! We came back to a clean house with healthy and happy fur children. She gave us updates during the sitting and was flexible with any changes.â

âDavied took exceptionally good care of my Maddie for the 3 weeks that I was out-of-town. He asked good questions, wanting to make sure that he was giving the best care to my dog. As this was Davied's second house/dog sitting, Maddie was happy to see Davied, which is a 5 star recommendation.â

âMeagan did a wonderful job house sitting for Teddy. We came home to a tidy house and a happy dog. She was very attentive to him, provided thorough updates, and was very mindful of his needs as an elderly pup.â

âWeâve used Sabrina and Daniel a bunch of times and feel so at ease with them with our dogs at this point. The dogs seem so happy with them and they provide so many pictures and great updates!â

âJustin does such a great job taking care of my cats! I always know they are in good hands when he is housesitting. He is my first choice whenever we leave town!â

âQuinn did an excellent job watching my doggo Kanna. They were really responsive and I appreciated the lovely photos they sent. Kanna got to go on a really long walk at a local park which she surely loved. Quinn super exceeded my expectations in all areas and I'm grateful they could watch kanna for her first time in a new house while I was away.â

âJolene was a dream come true. She went above and beyond. She took care of our little one as if it were her own dog. She kept us updated with lots of pictures. She was responsible and meticulous about every detail. We're already signed up to use her again! Highly, highly recommend.â

âSarah was PERFECT! Our dog can be very shy with new people and she moved at her pace and made her feel comfortable. Within a few hours they were best friends! She sent lots of pictures and communicated throughout the weekend. Additionally, Sarah went above and beyond to leave the apartment clean. You would have never known she was even there! We would absolutely book Sarah again and canât thank her enough!â

âOnce again Anna was amazing! Our dog loves her and so do we!! They spent the day together as we were out and about. Couldnât ask for a better sitter. Thank you!â

âTheresa was amazing with our very shy dog. Iâm always hesitant to leave her but she was in great hands as soon as I met Theresa. We can home to a very happy and calm dog and clean house. Looking forward to our next trip hoping Theresa will be available:)â

âOlivia was fantastic house sitting for our dog and cat. She was very communicative and caring with the pets. We felt totally comfortable and loved her updates. House was in perfect condition when we got home. Thank you, Olivia! We will definitely book with you again!â

âCaleb was great! The dogs loved him and he took good care of them and our house while we were gone. Weâre so glad we found Caleb and definitely hope to work with him again.â

âAileen took great care of our pups and also us humans! She sent regular updates (with photos) and quickly responded to our follow-up questions with clear and helpful answers about our pet. She also left our place clean and tidy and even took care to bring in and neatly arrange some rather large packages that were delivered to our house while we were gone. Thanks, Aileen!â

âI appreciated Mandy's quick responses (before, during and after the sit), willingness to come over prior to the sit for a meet n' greet with me, a quick orientation to home, kitty and her medication routine (insulin injections). Mandy was at ease and confident with all. The sit went as expected with a daily photo and quick message to reassure me that all was well during my 4 nights away. All was in order and tidy on my return and kitty content.â

âSavannah was an absolute gem! This was our first time with her at our house and we couldnât be happier. She is very sweet and genuinely loved being with my pup. I got lots of updates and photos where I saw a happy dog! I would recommend Savannah to any one looking for a sitter and puppy playmate!â

âNo need to look any further, Adrian is the absolute best! He is extremely professional and took such good care of Bruce while we were gone! We received daily updates and we could tell how much care and attention was given while we were away. Bruce was 3 months old when Adrian took care of him and he even worked on some training. We came home to washed sheets, a bathed dog, clean towels, and a clean home. He was incredibly respectful of our home and went the extra mile for us. We canât wait for Adrian to come back and Bruce is already missing his new friend! Thank you Adrian :) I am a Rover employee.â

âOur second time having Alex stay with Bird and weâre so grateful to have found someone we can trust with our pup and our home letting us see family for the holidays!â

Our lab Sounder and cat Craig were well taken care of while my husband and I were away. Jason posted daily updates and pictures of the pets. Heâs very pleasant, responsible and very easy to communicate with. I will definitely hire him for future pet and house sittings.

Weâve worked with Rachael more than once, and she has been absolutely wonderful! She took exceptional care of both our cat and dog, and they seemed happy, healthy, and well cared for when we returned home. She was also incredibly helpful and proactive when our dog had an ear infection came up with while we were away. We were out of service and unreachable for quite some time during our trip, so we especially appreciated her taking the initiative to reach out to our vet. She kept us informed whenever possible, administered the necessary medication, and helped our dogâs condition improve. That was huge and gave us so much peace of mind while we were gone. Weâre incredibly grateful for the care, attention, judgment, and reliability she provided. Five stars all around! We would absolutely trust her with our pets again!

Emery was amazing. She took such good care of my pups and even my aloof cat was charmed by her and snuggled with her at night. Emery was great at ensuring my senior dog got her medication and dealt wonderfully with my willful and wild youngest dog. Highly recommended if you need a sitter!

Adrian house-sat for us for two weeks while caring for our older dog Gustavo, and he was excellent from start to finish. Gustavo can be particular, and has his own likes and dislikes at this stage of life but Adrian picked up on that quickly, adjusting to him rather than expecting him to adjust. Adrian's communication was consistently responsive; we always knew how Gustavo was doing and never had to chase for updates. On top of that, Adrian left our house in immaculate condition when we got back. It's rare to find someone this reliable and easy to work with. We'd rebook him without hesitation.

Angel took great care of our 2 dogs & 2 birds while we were in Katmai, AK! It was so reassuring to me, as we have a 13 yo Newfy who is declining. Our dogs love him and even my âcage-protectiveâ birds allowed Angel to sing to them and hold them! My birds do NOT usually let anybody hold them. Angel communicated with us throughout our trip often. We returned home to happy and healthy dogs! Without reservation, I highly recommend Angelâs dogsitting services- he is excellent! Nancy
Emily took great care of Fisher over the weekend! She sent lots of updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She was also super easy to coordinate with and made the whole process seamless. Fisher was happy and well cared for, and I wouldnât hesitate to book with her again.

Absolutely amazing sitter! We left for an extended weekend and he managed all three pets and our home while we were gone. Came back to a clean house and happy pets. He gave us regular daily updates. Took our dog out everyday on adventures and gave the cats lots of attention. Will definitely be booking again!

Serenity is a wonderful communicator who made us feel at ease, house sitting and taking care of our furry ones! She was very kind and even took time and energy to leave the house better than she found it! I hope to have many more bookings with Serenity in the future!

Karen was wonderful to work with for our last-minute family trip. We are so grateful for the first meet and greet and overnight stay with our two pups. She sent us photos, updates, and the extra steps to tidy up the house from the laundry and linens. Weâre definitely planning to book with her again!

Meira is a true dog person. My dog adores her, trusts her, and is enthusiastic to be with her -- which is really what you want when you have to leave your furry family member with a sitter! Meira has a ton of dog experience, asks great questions about my preferences (and our dog's), and treats your pooch as a family member. Your pet will be loved and snuggled and stimulated and in very good hands.

We are so grateful to Jasmine for taking care of our two senior cats, who usually suffer from travel anxiety. She was a fantastic communicator and an excellent houseguest. Best of all, she took such great care of our cats that we came home to two happy, healthy, and relaxed pets.

FAQs for House Sitting - Meridian
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Meridian on Rover is $65.88 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,294 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Meridian. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Meridian walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Meridian maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Meridian choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meridian. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
