About: I have had and been around dogs since I was about 5 years old and have loved every second of it. Animals have always held a special place in my heart and I couldn't imagine my life without them. I started taking care of our family pets once I was a teenager and over a year ago I adopted my dog, Bumi, from Seattle Humane. Bumi turned out to be highly reactive and since adopting him I have worked extensively with a trainer and become very familiar with reactive dogs and can handle them well, provided they have some level of training. I have also looked after cats from my friends and acquaintances and have never had a negative experience aside from the occasional ankle swipe or warning bite, as cats are want to do. After working with my reactive dog I have become very sensitive to animals body language and know when to back off. While cats body language is quite different from a dogs I have plenty of experience and know when a cat does not want to be approached. I've loved every single dog and cat I have come across and would love to provide excellent care for your pets. I'm currently an unemployed scientist waiting for the NIH to be funded again so my schedule during the day is wide open. I have some responsibilities in the evening that can last a few hours but can still attend to pets as needed. As I have a reactive dog at home I won't be able to house pets at my home but can come to your house and care for your pets. Your pets safety and well-being are incredibly important to me. This includes stress levels and other emotional issues. While taking care of your pets I will work to ensure their comfort and reduce their stress while you are away.

About: I’ve always loved dogs and grew up surrounded by them. I was an au pair for several years, and I continue to pet sit for my former host families as well as friends and people I know. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and caring for them with the same love, patience, and attention I would give my own. 🐾❤️ I work as a nanny during the week, so I’m available to care for pets, but they would be alone for about 8 hours during my workday. Because of this, I prefer Friday evenings and weekends, when I can spend more time with them. I’m also happy to take them on walks, and my apartment has a patio where they can get some fresh air and outdoor time. 🐾 My home is a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for pets. I have a patio where dogs can get some fresh air, and I’m always mindful of their safety and individual needs. I’m happy to follow their routines and any instructions from their owners.

About: I’ve pet sat for my friends on multiple occasions and even had a dog of my own (technically my boyfriend’s) for 2 years - before he took a job and moved to Hawaii. Now, I’m without my sweet, living, gentle Penny & I have so much love & care to give to other furry pets! I work 4 ten hour days Mon through Thu, so I will have my weekends open to check on, stay with or walk your beloved furry. I talk to my furry friends and I approach them in a calm and safe, not anxious, manner. I would say I’m pretty in-tune to a pets needs & dogs & cats seem to love me! But I check to make sure they’re fed, they drank water, they’re walked, sometimes they may need stimulation - so some engaging play. I can be firm if need be.

About: I love pet sitting and used to do so all the time in high school and in college for family friends and personal friends. I have two cats and right now I miss hanging out with and snuggling dogs as well. So taking care of your pup will be a great way to give them some attention and help me get that doggy affection in my life. I am a post graduate school stay at home cat mom right now and looking for some extra work! I'm free as needed and love hanging out with pets of all types. In your home I always follow your own specifications about what is and isn’t allowed and whatever preferences are expressed. In my own home my cats get a lot of interaction and play and I try to make sure they get plenty of stimulation since I think we tend to underestimate their activity levels.

About: Based in Seattle, I’m a creative professional who runs my design studio and online pet shop from home. Because I work from my living room, your dog becomes my full-time "office assistant," receiving constant attention, frequent potty breaks, and a calm, boutique environment. I offer high-touch, reliable care for those who want their pets to feel right at home while they’re away. Hi! Jess here — a visual designer, amateur pet photographer, and the artist behind an Etsy shop, that offers dog stickers and custom pet portraits. So yes, your pet’s stay with me will come with vacation-level care and a mini photoshoot! My friends call me the "dog whisperer" — I’m patient, observant, and deeply attuned to each pup’s needs. I treat every dog as if they were my own, always watching for signs of stress or discomfort and keeping you in the loop. I live with my Yorkiepoo, Mochi, who’s my daily adventure buddy. From sniff walks and puzzle play (even though he hates it and cheats all the time) to lazy cuddle time, I make sure pets in my care feel safe, loved, and at home. Your pup’s safety is my top priority — always on-leash outdoors (no matter how good their recall is), using a non-retractable leash for control in sudden situations. No risks, no shortcuts. Ever. At home, I’ve got multiple cozy donut beds, clean bowls, squeaky and non-squeaky toys (all Mochi’s—he's got a crazy dog mom). I always do a quick hygiene wipe after coming back from the outside and wash with dog shampoo if #2 is involved — vet-recommended and part of our daily routine. My one-bedroom condo is in a dog-friendly neighborhood with walkable parks nearby. It’s clean, calm, and made for cuddly guests.

We hired Madison to help with our 1 year old lagotto’s leash reactivity. He’s a frustrated greeter and easily over stimulated on walks. We had been to several excellent dog training classes at Ahimsa, so I wasn’t sure if we’d learn anything that’s new from a trainer. Madison exceeded our expectations and gave us tools we actually use every single day now. For example, pattern games that we could never get to work before, a “paws up” command that’s been a game changer for us. She’s patient, reliable, and just as good at teaching the humans as the dog. We liked her so much we kept going after our two weeks and still work with her regularly on continuous training. Highly recommend Madison to anyone looking for a trainer who is not only skilled but genuinely invested in your dog’s progress.

Mariana was an outstanding sitter for my cat Poppy! She is very communicative, attentive, and kind. This was my first time having a sitter drop in my current home, which has a very fickle door locking mechanism. I was quite nervous about it and worried it would be too complicated, but she handled it like a champ! I am very very grateful for her and loved all the pictures she sent us while we were away. I highly recommend Mariana to anyone looking for a reliable sitter and will definitely be seeking her services in the future!

I have booked with Ally so many times that I’ve lost count! She is very attentive during her visits and goes above and beyond what’s expected. She follows every instruction you give her and also cleans up the litter outside of the box and any hairballs if she finds them. Ally noticed one cat typically hides under the bed so she started leaving her food bowl next to the bed and my cat will now eat during Ally’s visit. Ally is very understanding and will work with you for any changes as long as you communicate with her. I had to modify a booking when my flight was cancelled. She was able to accommodate the change which made a stressful situation much easier to handle. I would recommend Ally if you’re looking for somebody who is reliable and caring for your kitties!

Amy was fantastic! She was very communicative, on time and even sent us photos on a daily basis. It was such a relief and gave us a peace of mind to know that our beloved cat was so well taken care of while we were gone. We will most certainly hire her again.

This was our first time booking with Hilary and we’re so happy we did. Our cat takes a while to warm up to new people and she was very patient with him. She always showed up during the timeframes we asked for and provided lots of great photos from each visit, which we loved! In addition to taking great care of our boy, she went above and beyond by cleaning up around his food bowls and litter boxes. She made us feel very at ease for the entirety of our trip. We will definitely book with her again.

Adria was an absolute dream of a pet sitter for our extended weekend away. Watching two cats and an elderly dog is no small task, but she handled it with exceptional care, thoroughness, and genuine love. What truly sets Adria apart is her attention to detail. She picked up on small things that most people might miss, but made a world of difference for our peace of mind. Whether it was double-checking that the automated feeder was working properly or keeping an eye on our cat who insists on chomping on plastic, she never missed a beat. Her communication was thoughtful, clear, and proactive. Seeing our senior dog and cats looking so relaxed and looking like absolute stars brought us so much joy while we were away. If you are looking for someone who will treat your animals with the exact same level of detail, affection, and care that you do, hire Adria!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meridian. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
