“Kathleen was absolutely fantastic with Biscuit, super attentive to his needs and played with him so much!!! She sent tons of pictures and updates! A package was even delivered to my door that wasn't mine and she took the initiative to find the correct owner and get it to her--so above and beyond! I'd recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a sitter with attention to detail, great communication, and a great connection with animals! Thank you Kathleen!!!”

“Victoria was great! Attentive, communicative, timely, and most importantly she gave the dogs really good quality outside time— threw a ball for Vesa and tried to engage juni (who probably just wanted to get out of the cold since hunting wasn’t on the table)— the dogs look happy. We appreciate you!”

“Such a nice couple! They were so sweet to our Sammy and even set up a new litter box for us! They also cleaned up and vacuum. They sent us lots of pics which was amazing because we were worried about our boy! Thanks!”

“Yingqi was so awesome with both of my fur babies!! Not only did she board my energetic pup but she also accommodated my older cat with daily drop-ins!! I truly appreciated her time to take care of them both and receive her daily updates. I’m truly grateful 😄”

“Amy is wonderful! She is responsive, caring, and goes the extra mile. It is so nice to know that my two cats are in very good hands when I’m away. :)”

“Conner is such a huge help to have for our special needs dog! We really appreciate his care and attentiveness with her as she has many little things that require extra time and work. From diapering and medications to basics like walks and feeding! Thankful to have Conner around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Virginia is the absolute best! She has watched my cats a few times and recently helped me out with such short notice and I could not be more appreciative. HIGHLY recommend her!”

About: I've cared for senior cats for friends, as well as my roommates' cats. I love cats of all ages and personalities, and I'm happy to give them the patience, attention, and care they deserve. I only work some weekends, so I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. Whether it's playtime or keeping them company at home, I'll make sure they feel safe and loved while you're away. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the owner's instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medication, walks, playtime, and any special care your pet needs. I'll treat your home with respect, keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible, and provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
About: Based in Seattle, I’m a creative professional who runs my design studio and online pet shop from home. Because I work from my living room, your dog becomes my full-time "office assistant," receiving constant attention, frequent potty breaks, and a calm, boutique environment. I offer high-touch, reliable care for those who want their pets to feel right at home while they’re away. Hi! Jess here — a visual designer, amateur pet photographer, and the artist behind an Etsy shop, that offers dog stickers and custom pet portraits. So yes, your pet’s stay with me will come with vacation-level care and a mini photoshoot! My friends call me the "dog whisperer" — I’m patient, observant, and deeply attuned to each pup’s needs. I treat every dog as if they were my own, always watching for signs of stress or discomfort and keeping you in the loop. I live with my Yorkiepoo, Mochi, who’s my daily adventure buddy. From sniff walks and puzzle play (even though he hates it and cheats all the time) to lazy cuddle time, I make sure pets in my care feel safe, loved, and at home. Your pup’s safety is my top priority — always on-leash outdoors (no matter how good their recall is), using a non-retractable leash for control in sudden situations. No risks, no shortcuts. Ever. At home, I’ve got multiple cozy donut beds, clean bowls, squeaky and non-squeaky toys (all Mochi’s—he's got a crazy dog mom). I always do a quick hygiene wipe after coming back from the outside and wash with dog shampoo if #2 is involved — vet-recommended and part of our daily routine. My one-bedroom condo is in a dog-friendly neighborhood with walkable parks nearby. It’s clean, calm, and made for cuddly guests.
“Nothing but best experience with Allison! She’s super communicative, thoughtful and did great hanging with our two French bulldogs for a drop-in. Highly recommend!”

About: Hello! I am a dedicated animal lover with a lifetime of experience caring for a wide variety of companions, from hamsters, rats, and turtles to cats and dogs. I currently live in a pet-free home, but I frequently host my friend's adorable dog, Olive, so your pup may have a part-time furry friend. While Olive or other friends might be around (furry or otherwise) I will be the sole caregiver for your pet and will remain with them except when they may be home alone. If your pet doesn't do well with others and needs to be solo I am happy accommodate. Since I work from home, I am around most days to provide constant companionship, frequent potty breaks, and playtime. I have some experience with specialized care and feel completely comfortable administering oral medications or advanced treatments like subcutaneous fluids. I am also comfortable caring for senior pets with extra needs. Whether your pet needs an active playmate or a quiet co-worker to nap next to, I look forward to treating them like family. I currently work from home and set my own schedule, so I am flexible to your needs. I'm available during the day for walks and drop ins.
About: I have always had animals in my life. I grew up with many, many cats, dogs, hamsters, rats, fish, and rabbits. I have been a dog owner and cat owner myself. My husband and I are house sitters and we have travelled around the country completing different house and pet sits. I love being around animals and have the confidence to be the leader of the pack. I will make sure your pets have a great experience without letting them lose all of their good habits. Hopefully, they'll pick up a few more. I will love them like my own and always treat them with respect. My husband and I have been home owners, renters, and guests. So, we know how to care for a home and understand the various day to day tasks as well as unforeseen obstacles that need tending to. As homeowners for many years, we have been on the opposite end of this relationship as well. We have had house sitters care for our home and pets, so we know what it's like to leave a home in someone's care, and we will treat your home as we would treat our own, leaving it in the condition we found it. We have housesitting experience in homes in various states throughout the USA. In addition to looking after the homes, we have cared for pets both young and old. We have experience with elderly pets and with administering medication. We have a lot of experience with injecting insulin and caring for diabetic pets. I currently have a lot of free time and would like to start dog walking and doing drop in visits again. My schedule is fairly flexible. I will care for your pets in your home following your instructions. I am not currently hosting in my home for any of the services.
“Jennie is very personable and relational. She engaged right away with my girls! Long history with animals and pet care. Sent photos of visits. Would definitely have her back!”

“Moriah was excellent with Oliver. We are very happy with the help she provides us, while our family went on vacation. Will definitely use her services again if she is available.”

“Carly got back to me fast, and we managed to set up a meet and greet before her first drop-in with Baloo. Good communication, and she sent a quick note with some pics of him during her visit. I’ve booked her before and will do so again.”

“Margaret followed instructions well, gave my sweet elderly kitty some love, sent several pics each visit and even took out my compost and watered my patio plants (I gave her $ for it;)). Recommend this young lady to anyone needing kitty care❤️🐈”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Meridian
Debs and Paul were amazing! We received great communication each day. I could tell how much they cared about our cats. I recommend them to everyone looking for drop in cat visits while you are away! It put my heart at easy knowing our cats were in great hands with Paul and Debs

This was our first time using Rover, and Katelyn’s patience and professionalism put all of our early concerns to rest. She was punctual for every visit and took wonderful care of our two cats — playing with them and giving them plenty of attention each time. She even helped Maodou with a little grooming issue. When one of the cats threw up a hairball on our sofa, Katelyn handled the incident and cleaned up the mess without us having to ask. She was also happy to bring in packages and take out the trash. Thank you so much, Katelyn!

Amethyst provided the most attentive and loving care for our Miyuki while we were gone. She gave us updates on how she thought Miyuki was feeling and adjusted the environment and her approach to make sure Miyuki was as happy and fulfilled as possible while we were away. She even found out ways that she liked to be petted! Her communication and coordination are fabulous. We will definitely rebook with her when we have to be away again. 💯 Recommend.

Clive took great care of our two cats while we were away. He is very thorough, kind, and caring. We’ve found a lot of people don’t know how cats “play” but Clive does, and took great care. He also sent lots of photos and was very personable to work with. We will absolutely book him again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meridian. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
