“Krystal took such great care with my kitties while I was gone for a week. She was very attentive and my cats did not appear stressed at all upon return. Would definitely rebook again!”

“Courtney is so helpful with my puppy, Claude. She’s extremely communicative and punctual, and my dog loves her. She went above and beyond what I expected and I feel that all my dogs needs were met. Claude can’t wait to see Courtney again 🐶”

“Katie did a great job checking in on Tater! I enjoyed the pictures she sent me of her visits! This is the second time I’ve had her care for my cat! I will definitely use her again 😻”

“Katie is amazing. She's very responsive and it's apparent she truly loves animals. I have had her house sit my dog and do drop ins for my cat. She asks questions, and makes sure she understands exactly what is best for the animal so they get the care they need.”

“Thank you both so much for taking such a wonderful care of Carrot and Pineapple over the past couple of months. It meant the world to us knowing they were in such loving and reliable hands. We truly appreciate all the time, care, and attention you gave them. We’re so so grateful for you both and couldn’t asked for better sitters!”

About: I have always had some kind of pet growing up and am so happy with that fact! Whether it be bird, turtle, fish, hamster, or more cats and dogs than I can count I have either owned them or taken care of them. I have experience with all walks of life from fresh to life to the could retire in human years stages. I also have experience in keeping to medication schedules and working around allergies and diets during mealtimes. I also have worked with highly-reactive dogs and am more than willing to put in the time and effort so they are comfortable with me as well as have the skills to help them work through stressful moments. I absolutely cannot wait to meet your pets and help you support them as best I can. I currently work several seasonal jobs so I am super available during the off seasons. I am open for walks or check-ins from 10am-6pm Tuesdays-Sundays and I am available for house sitting on a short notice. I always make sure that your pet’s safety and care is my top priority. For walks I love sticking to areas around the house the pet is already comfortable in or if you and the pet are ok with it going on a bit of an adventure in my car to a local dog park or walking area. If I am staying at your house I always aim to stick to the animals normal schedule, including mealtimes and walk times, to ensure that they are disrupted as little as possible and still feel safe.
“Logan is very communicative and responsive! She gives great and thorough daily updates and my kitties look like they are having a blast in the photos. Lots of action shots! No issues with medication administration either.”

“Cory continues to take careful and loving care of my puppy Scout, who can be a handful. I come home to a happy and tired puppy in the evenings. Cory does a great job of letting him run and burn off energy!!”

About: I did not grow up with any household pets (other than fish) but have many friends with animals, for which I have cared for on occasion. I am an avid animal-lover and spent 11 years working with horses, so I am well-informed of the love, care, and attention they need. It would be my pleasure to care for your furry friend(s) and provide the activity/love/attention they need! I am a recent college-graduate and am currently in the middle of jobs, so I have an abundance of free time to handle pet care! As of now, I am not able to care for pets in my own home, although I will meticulously follow any guidelines and instructions to keep your pets safe and happy when I care for them at your home!
“Anastasia was fantastic with my cat while I was away. Took care of food, water, litter, and was very prompt in communication and home visit times 😊 I had no worries while out of state!😄”

“So glad we found Edie. Despite an uncertain welcome by my 3 standard poodles (especially the two youngest ones), she won them over and had my spirited 4 year old boy hugging her and other one laying at her feet. She even spent time with my 20 year old kitty who mostly sleeps these days. Edie knows her way around animals and her comfort level was obviously communicated to my four legged children. Thank you, Edie!”

“Amazing sitter!!! She really cares for your animals like her own and does a spectacular job with detailed notes and communication. The top notch communication really helps put your mind at ease when you’re away. She went above and beyond and we’re so incredibly grateful to have found someone so amazing! Thank you Caroline!! :)”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for years, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have 6+ years of hands on experience in dog daycare, boarding, walking, and training, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs with all kinds of personalities, ages, and needs from playful puppies and high energy dogs to seniors and pups who need a little extra patience and structure. When your dog is in my care, my goal is for them to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I take the time to follow their normal routine and make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, cuddles, and individualized care not just a quick check-in. I treat every client’s home with the same respect I would want for my own. I double-check doors, gates, leashes, and anything else that could affect your pet’s safety before leaving. With 6+ years of professional dog care experience, including daycare, boarding, and training, I’m comfortable handling a wide variety of personalities and needs. “Brittany was extremely accommodating and a great sitter for our cat, Lola. She was communicative, thoughtful, and prompt in everything from the meet and greet to her regular visits with Lola. It seems as if she and Lola had a great time while we were away! We look forward to having Brittany sit for Lola again during our next trip!”

“Sai has been fantastic to my cats. They look forward to seeing her and are always in a great mood when I come back. I have booked her three times so far. She has always been a good communicator, takes great photos, and is punctual in caring for my pets. Strongly recommend her.”

About: I’ve cared for a wide range of pets, including playful pit bulls, small to medium-sized dogs, and an Alaskan husky. While I don’t currently have pets of my own, I’m a zoology student with a strong interest in animal care, so I’ve spent a lot of time learning about proper pet care and behavior. I also have experience pet sitting small animals like gerbils, hamsters, and rabbits, and I have specialized knowledge when it comes to bunny care. I love cats as well and am comfortable pet sitting them. What sets me apart is my genuine passion for animals, my academic background, and my ability to care for a variety of pets with attention to their specific needs and personalities. Pet care fits easily into my routine because I have a very flexible schedule. I’m available on weekdays, weekends, and most holidays. When I start with a new pet, I like to build trust first through a few visits. After 1–2 sittings, I’m comfortable doing overnight stays if needed to make sure your pet gets consistent care, attention, and companionship. I currently provide pet care in my client’s home only. I make sure to follow all instructions exactly as the pet parents provide, including feeding schedules, routines, and any special care needs. I’m happy to help with feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning, and keeping your pet comfortable in their own environment. My goal is to maintain their normal routine so they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I've been around dogs since I was three -- my family has had one for as long as I can remember. Our last was a Bichon Frise we brought home at six months old and loved until she passed at almost sixteen. Because I was older by then, I took on much more of her day-to-day care, and I learned to train alongside her as she learned to be a better-behaved dog. Her senior years also taught me a lot about patience, medication schedules, and the small adjustments older dogs need. I have less experience with cats, but several friends have them and I've looked after theirs while they were out of town. I enjoy their company and respect that they have their own personalities, quite different from dogs. Whether your pet is a bouncy puppy, a set-in-their-ways senior, or a cat who'd rather I keep my distance, my family would love to care for them like they're our own companion animal. Either my husband or I are home most of the day with our two-year-old son, so your dog won't be left alone for long stretches. Our days already run on his schedule -- quite frequent neighborhood walks, meals and potty breaks at consistent times, and plenty of activity in between. I'm happy to follow your dog's own routine instead if you send it along; consistency matters more than convenience. One note: with a small child at home, we're a better fit for dogs who are comfortable around kids. He's gentle and used to dogs, and I never leave the two unsupervised -- but if yours would rather not share space with a two-year-old, we may not be the right match. In my home, dogs are part of the household rather than guests kept at arm's length. Before a stay I put away anything a curious dog shouldn't reach (e.g. toddler toys, small objects, houseplants, cleaning supplies) and I ask ahead about counter-surfing or trash habits so I can plan around them. Our yard isn't fenced, so outdoor time is always supervised with your dog leashed or on a long line with me. I keep a consistent routine for meals, medication, and potty breaks, and I'll send photos and updates through the day. If a dog seems overwhelmed, I give them a quiet space to decompress rather than pushing them to socialize. In your home, I follow your instructions closely and treat your space with care -- doors and gates double-checked, everything left as I found it. I'd rather ask than guess, so I'll want to know feeding amounts, walk routes, which rooms are off-limits, and what your dog does when anxious. I'll also ask for your vet's information and an emergency contact before the first visit. Either way, I know where the nearest 24-hour emergency vet is, and I'll contact you right away if anything seems off. I'd rather over-communicate than have you find out later.

“She was prompt in her response, very accommodating and flexible with the arrangements. We loved that our picky dog took to her! She was so great to work with!!”

Jessica was great with my cat Fitz! She was easy to coordinate/communicate with for drop-in visits. Fitz can be very shy but was comfortable with her. He was able to get some cuddles and playtime while I was away. I’m rebooking with her for some upcoming trips!

This was our first experience booking pet care through Rover, and I could not have asked for a better person to care for our cat. Sai followed our care instructions closely, arrived on time, loved on our girl, and went above and beyond when a minor incident occurred in our home. Sai was extremely communicative and responsive, and left us detailed accounts of each of her visits with our cat. I would gladly invite Sai to care for our cat again in the future.

Rebekah stopped by to check on my cats for a couple days over the weekend and took great care of them. I got detailed updates with lots of pictures, and she made sure they got treats and playtime. My shy girl Gadget even came out of hiding on the first day, which is always good to see. If the kitties approve, then so do I!

Laurel has gone out of her way to try different methods to help medicate my cat because he really doesn’t trust strangers with medicines. Examples like pumpkin puree, got him back scratcher etc.. She’s very responsible and has done a great job to take care of my cat for a week. My cat looks happy when I got back and his fur seems smoother than usual

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kingsgate. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
