“Ethan was fantastic for our dogs first day care! At the meet-and-greet he took time to get to know both dogs on a short stroll around the neighborhood and paid careful attention to the instructions. After the first visit Ethan sent a photo of both dogs in the backyard - happy and ready to play. Really appreciate the punctuality and care he put into the details.”

“Andi, has been an excellent caregiver for Cakes. She went above and beyond to interact with Cakes who is very shy and hides from strangers. Andi also followed our instructions well and checked in each day writing about her visit with Cakes. I hope she will be available next time we need a caregiver for Cakes. We can highly recommend her! I would like to give Andi a $50 tip for her excellent work. SWC”

“Rachel has been amazing with Millie. She goes above and beyond. She is a great communicator and takes care of Millie as if she was her own dog. It gives me so much peace to be at work knowing my dog is getting loved on so well by Rachel.”

“Barbara was wonderful! She took care of our cat, frogs, and turtle while we were gone for 10 days. Our cat loved her and she made sure the other animals were cared for properly. She provided helpful updates and left us a daily log when we returned. I would definitely use Barbara again in the future!”

“Brooke took great care of my 3 kitties while I was gone for the weekend! She won over my shy cat too which was great. And she proactively cleaned their food bowls + cleaned up a cat accident on the stairs”

“Gypsie and Robby were great! My cat needed checked on once a day while I was on vacation. They were always on time, spent quality time with my kitty and sent multiple pictures!”

“Mike is very responsible sitter and help give love to MianMian as much as he can. We communicated well over the phone and he followed the instructions to take care of MianMian.”

“We haven't used Rover before and were a bit skeptical until we met Miranda! She took such good care of our cat and made us feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.”
“Callaway is very communicative and easy to work with. Unfortunately my cat was not very nice to her (unforeseen) and she took it in stride with so much gracious understanding.”

“Courtney was amazing. She took care of Kiki very well. I felt very comfortable living here with my home and I would hire her again anytime. She was very attentive and even took care of the small details like making sure her box was clean and also making sure there’s a light on if you wanted to. The report were detailed and on time. This was very appreciated.”

“Samantha is the perfect sitter for our cats. She is so caring and attentive we never have to worry when she is watching them. Her daily updates are perfect. She always goes the extra mile!”

“We are so happy with Lorie's help! When we were gone our plans had changed the last minute and we we were in a pinch finding someone. Lorie has agreed to help us right away, and she did a wonderful job taking care of our pets. She had to learn what to do over the phone and did exactly what we had asked her. We have a turtle who needs to be fed in a separate water tank, and he tends to bite when someone sticks their hands in his water. However, that didn't seem to scare Lorie, and she took on the job very bravely. We were very pleased to return to a clean house and happy pets. We highly recommend Lorie to anyone who is looking for a trusted and caring pet sitter.”
About: I bring a lifetime of experience in caring for animals and live on 10 acres of wooded pastures with 3 horses, dogs, cats, and a house rabbit. My personal pack of four rescue dogs get along well with any new dog I introduce to the family. I have been fostering dogs for a local rescue organization for several years, gaining hands-on experience with many breeds and ages of dogs. I specialize in puppy care and training and have successfully provided basic training and care for numerous foster dogs. I have experience caring for elderly dogs and am skilled in giving medication and insulin. This is an all inclusive experience for dogs! Here your dog will enjoy plenty of supervised outdoor playtime in my private dog park which offers a peaceful setting away from any traffic noise. This is true farm privacy with a ten acre buffer and plenty of natural enrichment including a natural creek, pond, and wooded pastures. Dogs will have opportunities to participate in activities like sniff walks, barn exploring, and pack walks. For puppies I keep them on a schedule for potty training, socializing, and naps. Additionally, I have a dedicated small dog area and small dogs get to enjoy couch time in the evenings! All activities are included for the boarding price. If you desire an exit bath before your dog goes home please let me know. 🐾 I enjoy working on agility training with one of my dogs who is very athletic and to expand my training knowledge, I continue to work with local dog trainers. Beyond my work with animals, I raised two children and dedicated 18 years to volunteering in our local school district, where I passed multiple background checks and supported various programs and events in schools and classrooms. My property is quiet and away from any traffic yet located just a mile from a major highway making it easy to get to for drop off and pick up! I am home everyday and spend most of my time with the animals in my care. I am happy to be flexible on timing for drop off or pick up windows and can pop in for drop in visits to give you a helping hand. In my home pets will be fed twice a day and have off leash time to relax or play with friends. If they are crate trained they will have their own crate to retreat to and dog beds to rest on. My dogs enjoy meeting new friends and provide a comforting pack to show new dogs the ropes. Outside, I always work on name recall with new dogs on leash and when they get to know me they will have supervised off leash time. Additionally, your dog may enjoy a walk to our horse barn and discover a world of sensory enrichment for their nose! In your home I can play with and feed your kitty or your pups and provide any care they need and can feed on the schedule that you request.
“Skyler is amazing! I have a dog aggressive dog who is leery of people. However, Araia loves going on her walks with them! Yay! I’m so glad I found them; they will make being a single dog mommy so much easier knowing my little girl is well cared for.”

About: Hi there! As a lifelong dog person, I have a lot of experience - I have cared for dogs weighing 8 to over 100lbs, and from 6 week old puppies to seniors. I am experienced in dogs with complex situations such as reactivity, fearfulness & timidness, and significant physical impairments. Currently, I own two rescue dogs - a 3 year old female German shepherd/malinois mix, and a 2 year old male Aussie who was born deaf & blind. So when I say the “hard to handle” pups are my speciality, I mean it! I would be happy to take your dog on a walk or local hike, to play outside with them, to work/train (my GSD/malinois girl requires regular scent work, agility, and intense variations on fetch to stay sane), or to simply give them affection. I don’t at all mind working with dogs that take time to win over, or that need extra TLC. All dogs are good dogs, and I can promise you that to me, they are all precious cargo - and will be handled as such in my care. I am a music teacher, and primarily work afternoons & evenings - so earlier in the day I have free time. I am also the mother of a young child, so am unavailable on weekends when he is home from school. I will adhere to strictly to instructions given (ie, your dog is crated or not, food allergies or sensitives to avoid, fears they have or the best ways to make them feel safe) and make sure above all else, they know I am someone they can look forward to seeing.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Cottage Lake
Brenda was responsive and took time to come by before our trip for a meet and greet with our cats since this was the first time she watched them. She came within the desired time frame and followed our care instructions. We also really appreciate how well she handled our very old grumpy cat as well as our younger energetic cat who is dealing with a leg injury. We would definitely recommend Brenda to others and would book her again in the future!

I had such a wonderful experience with my Rover sitter, Qin! She took amazing care of my cat Mimi while I was away. Every single day, she arrived right on time, made sure Mimi was well-fed, spent quality time with him, and kept everything clean—including his litter box and any little messes. What really stood out to me was how thoughtful and helpful she was beyond just pet care. She even helped bring back my trash can and kept an eye on the yard, which I truly appreciated. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Mimi was in such caring and reliable hands. I could tell she genuinely cared about him, and that means everything to me. I absolutely loved her service and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and kind pet sitter!
Lorie is fabulous and our pets love her! She is extra communicative and truly cares for the pets she’s sitting. She went above and beyond cleaning bowls, vacuuming, and picking up after the pets—truly a dream to come home to after a vacation. We typically board our deaf dog, but are so glad we didn’t. Biscuit got the extra love, care, and attention she deserved while we were away. We highly recommend Lorie!

Amy took care of my 20 year old cat for 9 days and was wonderful! Amy loves animals and it shows in her caring nature and attention to details. Annie needs medication twice a day and lots of love and Amy provided this and more. She kept me up to date with pictures and texts and even a video with a speaking part for Annie. Annie looked great and no signs of stress when we returned. I will use Amy for any future travel plans as she is the best!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
