“I'm so pleased that my first experience through Rover was with Junbo. During our meet-and-greet, I was surprised by how quickly my pup felt comfortable with her. During my weekend away, Junbo kept in frequent contact with me through texts, photos, and videos. I had every confidence my pup was in good hands, and I'll definitely be contacting Junbo again for my next trip.”

“Noah was an absolutely fantastic dog sitter! He was reliable, communicative, and treated my dog with so much genuine care and attention. I received regular updates and photos, and it was clear my pup felt comfortable and happy the entire time. I couldn’t recommend Noah more highly!”

“Justelle was fantastic with our dog Stella and cat Carl. She sent great updates, was on time and detail oriented to all their needs, and kept us in the loop while we were away. Thank you! Will definitely book again!”

“Emma was able to watch our two dogs (and one hampster!) When we needed to go out of town for a last minute urgent trip. She did a wonderful job. I would definitely use her services again.”

“Dale took great care of our older dog who stops eating, refuses to go outside and withdraws when we are away. Dale watched her for 3 days and was patient and kind. She was able to coax her out for potty breaks and short walks. She was calm with our dog, who responds well to that. Dale was great with communication too. Thank you Dale!”

“Thank you so much for watching Benji! Ming was able to accommodate a last minute request do 2 different requests. I will definitely use Ming again and I highly recommend her.”

“She took great care of our cats, kept us updated, and left the house very clean. The cats seemed happy and comfortable. Reliable and considerate—we’d definitely ask her again.”

“Shana did a wonderful job caring for our fur baby! My dog is pretty picky about new people and can bea bit shy and anxious but Shana did a wonderful job going his speed to get to know him. Our pup seemed happy as can be when we returned from our trip. Shana was very communicative and sent so many pictures to keep us updated. We can’t speak highly enough of Shana and how well she took care of Albus!”

“Julianne was a great house sitter / pet sitter for our kitty. She cared for him during a nearly 3 week vacation in May 2024. She stayed in communication with us throughout the trip and always gave me a sense that our cat was cared for with affection and love. Took great care of our house and yard which doesn’t require a whole lot but was a comfort while we were away. I especially appreciated that Julianne is retired and could really spend most of her time here. Highly recommended!”

“Uliana took excellent care of my pets! I have two dogs and two cats, and she followed all instructions while making sure they were happy and comfortable. She was very responsive to messages, left my home clean, and I came back to relaxed, well-cared-for animals. I’ll definitely be using her again!”

“Rachel did an incredible job caring for our older dog for 1 week. She gave her lots of slow walks and loving attention! I swear Rainbow seemed more spry when we got home! She was great at communicating. I highly recommend Rachel!”

“I cannot recommend Primrose enough! She went above and beyond in every way while taking care of my dog. Not only was she incredibly attentive and loving with my pup, but she also did my laundry and left my apartment spotless. I came home to a clean, cozy space and a very, very happy pup. In fact, my dog was more excited to see Primrose than me when I walked through the door—which says everything you need to know about the bond they built over the week! It was clear they'd become best buddies, and it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Primrose also sent me adorable daily photos and updates of Lil while I was gone and was incredibly responsive. If you're lucky enough to book her, do it—your pet (and your home) will thank you!”

“We went on a trip to Japan for 17 days with my whole family. We haven't been on a family trip for 10 years because one of our kids watches our animals. Our dog is a rescue from Korea & can be aggressive. He snuggled with her on the couch & on the bed! My anti-social cat seemed to love her too! Nikki is wonderful, she was recommended by our vet. She's very calm, patient & seems to know what they want. She sent us pictures & updates every day. From day one I felt very comfortable being on vacation. I thought maybe our dog wouldn't want us to return from our trip! We hope to go on another family trip in the coming years. Thank you Nikki.”

“Rhiannon took amazing care of my 6 year old border collie and made sure he had lots of exercise. She left my apartment spotless and was super communicative with pictures and videos daily. Highly recommend and will be booking her again soon.”

“Jade continues to be amazing! Smalls loves her and she takes such great care of him! I came home and I think he misses her already haha! Thank you Jade for being an amazing sitter!”

“This was Gerald’s first job through Rover, and I thought he was great, he went above and beyond—battling flooding to get to the house and managing a full day without power. The dogs were well cared for throughout his stay and he sent me lots of pictures which were fun to receive. One of the dogs did manage to scratch a piece of carpet after getting stuck in a room, but he handled the situation responsibly and kept me informed of the situation. Overall, Gerald did a great job, and I would absolutely recommend him to sit for your pets and I will be asking him back to look after mine when I next travel.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hunts Point
🐾Liane was a PERFECT house sitter for our four pets🐾 We could tell from the way she followed our instructions on our pet’s routines, to being able to give pet medicine, to taking care of our elderly dog, keeping the house clean, and sending us cute updated photos. Could not recommend her more highly; book her now—you don’t need to look any further🐾

Dana was the perfect person to watch my Maltipoo. I appreciate Dana's excellent communication in preparation for watching my dog for the first time, and she made me feel confident that my dog was in good hands. Dana is kind and thoughtful, and Elle took to her right away. I will definitely ask for Dana the next time I'm in town. 😊

I will make this review very plain and simple. Ra is the BEST dog walker/house sitter I have ever used on Rover!! She went above and beyond my expectations which are very high when it comes to taking care of Howie while I am traveling. She was very caring and conscientious of Howie's needs. Howie is a friendly, high energy labradoodle that needs 2 walks per day. She is also an excellent pet photographer and took some amazing sunset pictures of Howie. She introduced Howie to a new playmate Sadie and brought her over to play with Howie in the backyard. Howie is a very picky eater and she suggested a new food topper for his meals which he loved! I would highly recommend Ra for any pet care needs!!

Angie took great care of my french bulldog puppy Remy! My flight home also was unexpectedly canceled at the last second, and she graciously extended her care—super flexible, so grateful. We’ll definitely contact Angie again the next time we need a dog sitter!

Deanna took excellent live-in care of our Dog and Cat for 5 nights. She was communicative, flexible, responsive and left the house cleaner than when we left! It was a relief knowing the animals were in good hands and we will happily rebook in the future. Thanks, DeAnna!

Truly the gold standard of pet sitters! My dog is absolutely obsessed with her and clearly looks forward to their quality snuggle time. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely passionate about their work; she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure my pup is happy and settled. As an added bonus, I always return to a house that is sparkling clean and perfectly tidy. I cannot recommend her highly enough for her professionalism and heart.

FAQs for House Sitting - Hunts Point
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hunts Point on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,273 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hunts Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hunts Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hunts Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hunts Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hunts Point. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
