“Sue did a great job watching my dog and house sitting. My dog and house were the same way I left them after leaving for 5 days. In addition, when my plane was cancelled and I had to take a later flight, Sue stepped up and stayed at my house a few hours later then what was scheduled. Sue is a reliable sitter.”

“Yan took care of Micki overnight and made sure his meds were given on time. She was caring and loving that Micki didn’t miss us. Will definitely look to rebook her in the future.”

“Thank you for caring for our puppy and two cats! Your regular updates with photos and videos reassured us. Plus, they were all so relaxed when we got home! We truly appreciate your excellent care!”

“Jasmin did a wonderful job watching Kofi over the holidays. After meeting Jasmin I had no worries leaving Kofi with her. She sent me updates regularly and did a good job with Kofi's needs.”

“Teresa is the BEST! She is your Rover go-to! We had such an amazing experience and look forward to booking with her again. She took amazing care of our 2 dogs & cat. Truly treated them like her own and showed them so much love, which of course means the world to us. She sent so many updates and pictures, which we couldn’t have been happier about! I can never have too many pictures :’) It made us feel reassured while we were away. She handled our very energetic pup so wonderfully, as well. We can’t thank Teresa enough and I highly recommend to anyone looking to book! <3”

“I am always thrilled to get to leave my girl in Margaret’s care. She has done 3 stays at my home with my reactive girl and shows her so much love and patience. She has also very kindly offered flexibility with end times to care when I am running late getting home from a trip. I hope to leave my girl in Margaret’s care again soon :))”

“Karlie took great care of our dogs and was an excellent communicator in the process. Both our dogs were happy and relaxed when we got home. She also left our house exactly as clean as we left it which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Karlie‘s pet sitting services.”

About: I started working with animals in high school, accruing hundreds of volunteer hours at my local animal shelter, where I honed in on my passion for pet care. As I transitioned to university life, I started walking dogs on the weekends, and really enjoy getting to hang out and provide for other people's pets. I have open availability through most of the week, and for late-evening drop ins over the weekends. This allows me a lot of time and flexibility to devote to caring for your pets. Communication is key, and I strive to ensure all preferences are met during my visit/walk with your pet! I will frequently send updates, such as photos from during my visit/walk, and a little blurb about what your pet and I got up!
“I can’t say enough nice things of how well Jade takes care of Smalls. She takes care of him like he’s her own. We are so lucky we found Jade! Can’t recommend her enough!”

About: I’ve enjoyed walking dogs in my Seattle neighborhood since I was a teen. Any opportunity to exercise and be around pets is a time I can’t pass up! I do not mind long walks or jogging, so if you prefer a longer walk time for your pet that is no issue. I’m currently working part time and will soon begin going back to college in the fall part time as well. I have a very flexible work schedule, weight to shed, and a genuine love for animals, so I thought I’d try Rover out 😄 I would not be able to have pets in my own home, but I will gladly prepare your pet for a walk or feed him/her in your home if you are comfortable. I am also comfortable sitting at your place! I have worked with dogs as young as 5 months, and up to 12 years old. I know how to stimulate a young pup, making sure I read their energy in order to provide them with the fitness they need. On the flip side, I understand the hands on care, assistance, and supervision (quite literally have to be their eyes sometimes) an elderly dog requires. You can trust with me with your pet during all of their life stages.
“Katia did a wonderful job! Our pets seem to have barely missed us under her care and as we were gone for such an extended time it’s a relief to know they were being cared for. She kept us updated on one of our pets with a health condition and the enclosure for our rabbits and cats litter box were in great condition when we got back (a huge relief after 12+ hours of traveling!). Would 100% recommend :)”
“Will has dogsat / house sat for us a few times and he does a great job taking care of our pup. He takes Napa on good walks, has her play with other dogs, and you can tell that he’s engaged and paying attention rather.”

“Zoe was the perfect match for Bader! She kept me in the loop with adorable daily photos. I would love to book with Zoe again in the future! I came home to a spotless house and a very happy pup?”
“Naomi stayed with our Taz again! As always, she is a great communicator and we love all the pics and updates. Our pup has sensitive skin and she always goes the extra mile to make sure Taz is cared for. This time it was for an ear infection. She always leaves our house cleaner than we left it too! So grateful for a trusted and reliable sitter that our dog knows and loves!”

“I truly cannot say enough kind words about Ana. She is sweet, personal and has impeccable attention to detail. We had her stay over at our place for the weekend to care for our two dogs. The house is in pristine condition and we had multiple updates/photos of the girls while we were away. Our flight was delayed and she offered to stay an addition night if we were unable to make it home that evening. Would highly recommend Ana and will definitely be issuing her in the future!”

“We cannot thank Christiane enough for taking such wonderful care of our senior dog. This was his first time with a new sitter and we could not have found a more suitable, patient and caring person. It also happened to be the perfect storm of an Xfinity outage, power outage and a snowstorm which was all handled so calmly. We also came home to a spotless house. Very grateful!”

“Highly recommend Noah for housesitting. He took such great care of my pup and was very attentive to his needs. Sent lots of pictures and updates, which I love. And he left the apartment nice and clean when I came home!! Will definitely be booking with him again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hunts Point
Mackenzie was absolutely amazing with our dog Hank! She was extremely thorough and detail oriented about his care. I received daily pictures, video and text updates while we were away. The whole experience was above and beyond. We will be booking with her again!!

Erin stayed with my two cats for a few days this summer. She was very responsive when I first reached out to inquire about her availability. Once she was here, she was communicative and sent photos and updates of the cats throughout the stay. She left the house sparkling clean and cats were happy! I will be using her in the future! Thank you!!!

🐾Liane was a PERFECT house sitter for our four pets🐾 We could tell from the way she followed our instructions on our pet’s routines, to being able to give pet medicine, to taking care of our elderly dog, keeping the house clean, and sending us cute updated photos. Could not recommend her more highly; book her now—you don’t need to look any further🐾

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hunts Point on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 8,284 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hunts Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hunts Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hunts Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hunts Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hunts Point. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
