“Kira was an amazing dog sitter! One of our dogs has separation anxiety, and Kira did a great job keeping her calm and cared for. They also asked a lot of great questions to make sure they had all of the information they needed about our dogs while we were gone. They sent us pictures of the dogs and gave status updates while we were gone which was really appreciated! They were very flexible with time too, I was able to book them with just a few days notice, and had to stay out later than expected which was no problem for them. Overall it was a great experience, our pups seemed very happy. Thanks Kira! <3”

“She is amazing! Patient , kind, and great with animals!! She fed Malikai and took him out and cater for this big scaredy fluff ball! Thank you so much! I will book again!”

“Arwen stayed at our home with Latte and Chance. She was so kind to them petting brushing and playing with them. She followed our requests for meals, sleep and locking the home. She communicated well with us. We will ask her to help us again for sure. We give her 5 stars”

“Stephani was such a wonderful sitter for our handful of dogs, that have their various needs (i.e., prescriptions) and strong personalities being huskies. Our doggos seemed instantly calm with her during the meet and greet, and when we returned they didn't want to leave her side. We are so appreciative of her staying with them and giving them such love and care!”

About: I’m a proud dog mom to Kona, my Akita/Malamute mix. Caring for him has given me hands-on experience with giant breeds, leash handling, enrichment, and safely managing a reactive dog. Through caring for other dogs, I’ve also gained experience with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and individual needs. I’ve also cared for cats for years and love getting to know each pet’s individual personality and routine. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, reactive, or a senior, I take the time to understand what helps them feel most comfortable. I have a flexible schedule and offer dog walks, drop-in visits, non-overnight house sitting, and extended daytime care in your home. I’m available for both recurring weekly care and occasional visits and am happy to work with you to create a schedule that fits your pet’s normal routine. Whether they need regular walks, potty breaks, meals, playtime, companionship, or a little extra attention while you’re away, I’m happy to help! When available, I can also provide transportation to grooming appointments, daycare, boarding, or veterinary visits. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet in someone else’s care, so I make communication a priority. You can expect plenty of photos and thoughtful updates so you always know how your pet is doing. I always prioritize your pet’s safety and comfort and will adjust walks or activities as needed based on weather, energy level, and individual needs.
“You need to book with Katie. Katie is amazing. I ended up needing someone last minute and luckily she was available. She was flexible and accommodating so we could fit in a meet and greet prior to the booking dates. Katie took care of my two dogs and two cats. One of my dogs is shy and hesitant around new people and Katie was patient and won her over. I felt like Katie was very communicative and responsive. There were also few things Katie did around our house (without us making a request for her to do) that made it feel like she went above and beyond. I will definitely be booking with Katie again in the future.”

“Robert was ABSOLUTELY fabulous! He was patient, thoughtful, and really communicative. From the moment we requested a sitter until after the service was complete, he was swift to respond, sent lots of pictures, and kept us updated on all the pet care rituals. He did not flinch when the breaker needed to be reset during a housesit, and he took such wonderful care of our tankgirl, Bailey. 5 stars, 2 thumbs way up, and a 3 snaps in Z formation! Highly recommend.”

“Julianne was a great house sitter / pet sitter for our kitty. She cared for him during a nearly 3 week vacation in May 2024. She stayed in communication with us throughout the trip and always gave me a sense that our cat was cared for with affection and love. Took great care of our house and yard which doesn’t require a whole lot but was a comfort while we were away. I especially appreciated that Julianne is retired and could really spend most of her time here. Highly recommended!”

“Michelle was wonderful. i came home to 8 very happy and loved animals. She sent a picture with a message every night. Since I have several ancient pets she stayed at our house and kept it looking good. We would definitely hire her again.”

“Valerie came to a last minute call to tend to my Fat Bully Tink lol this was my first time booking an in house sitter and she did so Great !!! ; I really appreciate you Valerie ❤️ and I will be booking again !”

“I have a reactive dog who struggles to meet new people, especially men. And wow! I was totally blown away by how Robert used such confidence and gentleness with my dog. He was able to snag Winston to the dog park for the first time in years successfully. I am honestly so grateful and surprised to have found such a solid dog sitter. I cannot recommend booking him enough!!”

“Jean did a great job taking care of our fur babies! I know because they were SO excited to see her when she came by to return our key. And the puppy whined by the front door after she left (but not for too long!!).”

“Veronika was great with Baxter. He was happy to see us but we could tell he was well loved and cared for by her. She sent pics and expressed a small concern (which we appreciated ) but turned out just fine. When we returned, it was like he was looking for her to walk in with us. We will definitely book her again.”

“Jean and Elena are the best and I appreciate so much how well they take care of my two energetic and needy Golden Retrievers. They stay in the house with them and take care of them like they are their own dogs. My house is immaculately clean when I come home and my dogs are happy and not stressed. They have been taking care of my dogs for the last two years for 3 - 10 days at a time when I travel with my kids for athletic events. When they come over my dogs are so excited to see them and i know they are well taken care of! Jean and Elena are clearly dog lovers as they are just as excited as the dogs are. They get the top rating!”

About: I’ve enjoyed walking dogs in my Seattle neighborhood since I was a teen. Any opportunity to exercise and be around pets is a time I can’t pass up! I do not mind long walks or jogging, so if you prefer a longer walk time for your pet that is no issue. I’m currently working part time and will soon begin going back to college in the fall part time as well. I have a very flexible work schedule, weight to shed, and a genuine love for animals, so I thought I’d try Rover out 😄 I would not be able to have pets in my own home, but I will gladly prepare your pet for a walk or feed him/her in your home if you are comfortable. I am also comfortable sitting at your place! I have worked with dogs as young as 5 months, and up to 12 years old. I know how to stimulate a young pup, making sure I read their energy in order to provide them with the fitness they need. On the flip side, I understand the hands on care, assistance, and supervision (quite literally have to be their eyes sometimes) an elderly dog requires. You can trust with me with your pet during all of their life stages.
“Shawn was great with our large fur baby family. She gave them all personalized attention and was attentive, responsive, and patient with them, especially our pup who takes more time to trust new people. She was very communicative with us via updates & photos, so we were comforted with the knowledge that our babies were well cared for during our trip. Thanks so much, Shawn!”
“Anja is an amazing sitter! She took care of toby as he was her four legged kid. She also adhered to our notes and ask. Kept us updated about how he was doing at all times”

About: I always had pets around me growing up. We had a horse in our backyard as a kid. My parents were fond of Old English Sheepdogs and we always had a variation or two around. The best time was when they had puppies! There were always cats who walked freely in our backyard and came by for treats. When I move to the city, I always had cat friends. I often got to cat sit for them when they would go out of town. My neighbor’s cat in our Manhattan brownstone, spent more time in my apartment than hers because she preferred my window view. I have no pets now because my husband of many years, is all allergic to everything: bird, dander, cat, and dog hair, even Live cut Christmas tree trees! Now, my substitute teaching job has allowed me time to spend with pets. This is why I would be happy to take care of your cat and dog whenever you need pet care. I have been a substitute teacher for the past five years and am planning a hiatus from teaching. I plan to devote my days to helping my kids get to school and taking care of pets. Being a freelancer has taught me many things: how to adapt to new situations, be flexible with schedule changes and how to manage my time productively. I have taken care of cats for friends who have been out of town or country for long periods. I drive and can easily walk to or from a large section of my neighborhood.

Meka is amazing and pickle adores her. Today we had a minor emergency and we were out of town. Meka stepped up and made sure Pickle was safe until we could put a plan in place. This was priceless and you can’t put stars or money on it’s value. If I could give 10 stars I would. You can’t go wrong with her caring for your fur babies. Meka we were so lucky for your help.

Laurel gave exceptional care for my two older kitties! She worked hard- above and beyond-to gain their trust. At first they were growling and hissing. In a short time she was petting and brushing them- with purrs, even! This resulted in our family having a great vacation without worrying about the cats. She communicated every day on what they were doing, so we felt we knew how it was going for them! We highly recommend Laurel and we will absolutely ask for her again!
Cory was absolutely wonderful with Cody! He took such great care of him while we were away, including taking him on beach walks and sending us lots of pictures and updates. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Cody was happy and well cared for in his own home. We came home to a happy pup! We would absolutely book with Cory again and highly recommend him!

Katie is always my first choice to take care of our beloved kitty, Boots! She is incredibly reliable, responsive, and goes above and beyond. She even washed the bedsheets before she left! We always feel so comfortable knowing Boots is in her care. Highly recommend her! 🐾❤️

Cortney watched our 11 year old Lab while my wife and I were away for the weekend, and we couldn't have been more pleased. For an older dog, he has lots of energy, and he was tired and calm when we returned from all the attention he received. We'd recommend Cortney to anyone who wants peace of mind while they're away from their pets and we plan on booking her again soon!

Jason has been a fantastic sitter for our Dachshund, Bentley. He really understands Bentley's demeanor, and Bentley warms up to him more with every stay. Jason always leaves our house looking better than we left it, and he even grabbed our absurd number of packages and brought them inside for us. We trust him completely with our home and our fur baby, and we'd love to have him back anytime.

Robert was ABSOLUTELY fabulous! Highly recommend.

To go the extra mile is an understatement! Kira was fantastic with my two dogs and handled the fact that my male dog is 150 lbs with ease.I was updated on their meals and happiness each morning and evening. When my return time was delayed Kira stayed with the pups to keep them Company and make sure they had diner. ~thank you

Shana was wonderful with our dog, patiently working with him through his separation anxiety, earning his trust and making Milo a very happy, well cared for dog! Shana communicated easily any questions and provided updates daily. And, our house was immaculate upon our return. Thank you, Shana.

Kimberly was fantastic. We had been skeptical due to stories we had heard from other friends. However, Kimberly took better care of Chase than we do! She was incredibly thoughtful and considerate of his needs and daily routine. She gave us such peace of mind knowing our pup was being cared for and provided daily check ins which were amazing. We will absolutely we using Kimberly again!

Stephani was amazing! We felt so comfortable leaving our pup, Albus, in her care. It was clear that Albus loved spending time with her and was very well cared for. She kept us updated with messages and photos throughout the stay, which we really appreciated and gave us so much peace of mind. She also took great care of our home. We couldn’t recommend her more—10/10! Albus can’t wait for his next stay with Stephani!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Inglewood-Finn Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Inglewood-Finn Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Inglewood-Finn Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
