“Our dog had a great time with Jennifer; I think she was a little bit disappointed that she had to leave. She’s a senior dog and Jennifer made sure she got all her medications. Highly recommended!”

“My foster dog Baby had a wonderful stay with Tanya and her daughter. Their home is basically doggy heaven, and Baby enjoyed the huge lawn and tons of love and care accordingly. Baby looks forward to her next visit!”

“Teemo has stayed with Yunxi a few times now, and she’s been responsive and accommodating. Most importantly, Teemo is always happy in their home. I feel completely at ease leaving him with her family and will definitely book again.”

“Svetlana was great! Our dog was loved and cared for, and I would not hesitate to leave her again in such good hands. I appreciated the daily updates and pictures of walks, play, and lounging at home. Svetlana was super responsive to all of my questions and was such a nice person to interact with. The overall experience was fantastic.”

“Meerim was an incredible dog sitter. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in her care. She sent updates and pictures throughout the stay, and communicated how things were going so I didn't worry at all. So grateful that we found her! Will 100% book again xx”

“Dapeng was wonderful for boarding our dog. He was a last minute switch from previous sitter who couldn’t take care of our dog. Dapeng provided excellent care and sent regularly photos from the walks and the home. He was communicating regularly and sent updates. Dapeng has a nice backyard and other dogs so our dog had social interaction as well. I would be happy to have Dapeng care for dog again in the future.”

“Michael, Tyler, Lauren and Leslie provide stellar care to our senior (16 years) Shiba Inu. The love and attention they showered on her warmed my heart. I also appreciated how patient they were with her as she moves slowly. This care team is awesome! Highly recommend them.”

“Audrina was absolutely amazing and part of me wants to gatekeep her so she'd be available to take care of Yoshi whenever needed! Throughout the boarding, Audrina remained highly professional and experienced with all types of dogs. This was my first time using Rover so I was extremely nervous. I expressed my concerns with Yoshi being a senior, reactive dog, but Audrina and Donny eased all of my worries. We set up a meet and greet where they both took the time to ask questions about Yoshi's daily routine, habits, health, and personality. She also sent over a Google form to ensure nothing was forgotten about Yoshi's needs! Audrina went above and beyond - sending daily updates as well as cute pictures/videos the entirety of the stay. I could immediately tell that Audrina and Donny were giving Yoshi so much love and Yoshi looked extremely comfortable with them. He was playful, happy, and anxious-free! What stood out to me the most was that Audrina took the time to train Yoshi and even give him stimulating activities on the rainy days! I truly don't think I could have found a better person to take care of Yoshi!”

“Sylvia took awesome care of my puppy for the week. He got plenty of exercise and had a blast with his doggy friend. She sent daily photos and videos and was very friendly and responsive. Kobe came home cleaner than before I dropped him off! Thanks so much Sylvia.”

Currently live with cats🐱 Always pet sitting for friends over holidays in the past 12 years including domestic cats, ragdoll, poodles and doodles, Bernese mountain, Maltese, Cotons, Cavapoo, Bichon… Flexible in time and locations. For boarding: I can pickup and drop-off your pets if you are occupied with other things or simply don’t wanna drive :) For house-sitting: Happy to walk your pets around neighborhoods, nearby parks, and trails or beaches (during weekends). My work schedule is pretty flexible, which makes it easy for me to fit pet care into my daily routine. I also enjoy driving and don’t mind traveling a bit for pet sitting or drop-in visits. I’m usually available on weekends as well, so I can be flexible with different schedules and care needs. I always follow the owner’s house rules and care instructions, and try my best to keep each pet’s normal routine while their family is away. Every pet is different, so I’m happy to adjust to their needs—whether that means extra walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply giving them some space. My goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and at home while in my care. 🐾
“Ann G is a great sitter. This is the first time I hired a sitter and I was worry about how my dogs would be treated. I found Ann treated my dogs really well with love. I received a lot of pictures with update from time to time so that I knew how my dogs were doing in the new environment. I greatly appreciate her for taking care of my dogs. I strongly recommend her and will use her again later.”

“Iryna was great! We did a meet & greet beforehand. She was very sweet to our dog and showed us around the dog park next to her home. She sent photos during our dog’s stay and was very easy to communicate with. Our dog stayed for 10 nights and seemed very happy. He even got to sleep in Iryna’s bed every night! Thank you, Iryna!”

“Second time with Jessica and she’s been fantastic. Quick to respond, sends updates and pictures. Most importantly my little dachshund loves to go back, great experience across the board. Highly recommend!”

Megan took wonderful care of my puppy Henry while he was boarded with her. She made sure he got plenty of exercise and lots of social time with other dogs, including puppies, which was perfect for him. She even took care of some grooming, which was a nice bonus. Henry came home happy and well cared for. I'll definitely be bringing him back to Megan soon. Highly recommend!

Jennifer took great care of Sierra. Her communication was excellent with a meet and greet before watching her and then staying in touch for drop off and pickup coordination. Sierra seemed well cared for with walks, love and a caring environment. We’d be happy to have Sierra with Jennifer again.

Nuray took really great care of my dog. I feel her knowledge and experience with animals gave me a lot of confidence, especially since my dog can be a bit difficult to handle. My dog seemed very happy and comfortable with her. She even whimpered when we left, which made me think she really enjoyed spending time with her.

As usual James is the best person to take care of Cookie when we are away. He really loves and cares for all the dogs that are under his care. Cookie is always happy and well looked after when she is with him. We leave her at time for more than 2 weeks when we are away on international trips and she is good with James. We highly recommend James as a home for your fur babies when you travel.

Every time we get the chance to book with Karen, we feel so lucky. Our dogs absolutely adore her and her sweet pup Squeegee, and even Ruby, who is scared of everyone else, runs right into her house. Karen even made Ruby’s birthday so special while we were away. It feels so comforting to leave them in her loving care. My kids enjoy the videos and pictures she sends so much. She’s so thoughtful in sending them frequently and is just such a genuinely good person. Thank you Karen! You’re the best!

Yasemin was amazing with our dog Polly. We had a last minute emergency and needed someone to take care of Polly for a few days. She was super accommodating and loving with Polly as if she was her own brought a lot of comfort through a difficult time. Will definitely bring her back her again in the future!

Matt was great with dog Hazel and her special needs. He helped keep up with her training, administered medicine and took time to play tug with her. His home has an expansive back yard (by Palo Alto standards) for Hazel to explore and stretch her legs. I would love to board Hazel with Matt in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Loyola home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Loyola.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Loyola sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
