“Florence kept me informed of Dora’s day care activity with many photos. She looks happier and came back happy and healthy as well. Florence gives me good tips how to take care of Dora also. She is great. I’ll definitely return next time.”

“Megan is a Godsend! I was so happy that she accepted my last minute request to watch our 6 month old high energy Iggy (Italian Greyhound) Tala. Our other Italian Greyhound was hospitalized earlier in the week and Tala couldn’t be alone at home, so I was on the search for last minute day care. Tala *loved* her time with Megan, her daughter and her friendly pup, Banx! I got a lot of pictures of Tala having a great time. Megan was very communicative — readily available to answer any questions if I had any. Megan was also very accommodating as I had some unexpected changes to when my other dog was coming home so I asked if Tala could stay overnight. Megan accepted the request and Tala got to hang out again with her new friends an extra day. Tala & Banx played a lot during the day they slept pretty hard at night! 🐾😁 She’s had so much fun, we’re going to do it again! I highly recommend Megan for pet daycare and/or boarding. Thank you for taking such good care of Tala!”

About: I grew up with dogs in the family, so caring for them is second nature. Now I have young, responsible daughters who share that love — our whole family lights up around dogs. We travel too often to own one ourselves, so instead we're hoping to build lasting relationships with a few special dogs whose families need occasional help. We're not doing this for the money; we simply love dogs and want more of them in our lives. What sets me apart beyond that: I'm active and love taking dogs on hikes — and trail runs, if they're up for it — so high-energy pups will come home tired and happy. Your dog gets a whole family's attention — a workout buddy, playmates, and steady, caring company. We plan to take one dog every 2-3 months and to shower them with love and attention. If you're interested in our family, chances are best if you coordinate with us well in advance :) I'm semi-retired and work from home on a completely flexible schedule, so pet care fits naturally into my whole day — not just the edges of it. Your dog won't be waiting hours for attention: mornings can start with a long walk/hike or run and midday means play and company rather than an empty house. On the weekends, after school, on holidays, and during summer break, my daughters will shower your pup with love and attention. Safety comes first, whether your dog is with us or in their own home. We live on a large lot in Los Altos with fully fenced front and back yards, so there's plenty of secure space to play and explore. We're minutes from the foothills, with easy access to great hiking trails, and I have the proper equipment to transport your pup safely. In our home, your dog is treated as part of the family: supervised play, a consistent routine for meals, walks, and rest, and someone home all day, so dogs are never alone. On outings, dogs stay leashed unless you've told me otherwise, and I match the pace and distance to your dog's fitness and the weather, while ensuring your dog is hydrated. I'm happy to follow your routine exactly — feeding, medications, sleeping arrangements, house rules, etc. You'll get regular photo and video updates, so you always know your pup is safe and happy.
“Nisha was amazing!!! She took care of our puppy Bellini during the day while my wife and I went to a concert. She provided pictures and videos frequently. Bellini loved her backyard and playing with her kids. The whole family was so welcoming and excited to have Bellini. Nisha and her family were amazing and took great care of Bellini! Thank you!!!”

“I've hired Michael as my dog sitter twice now, and both times my dog came back all "pooped" from the long walks and play time, she basically went to bed as soon as we got home haha! He also sent me quite a few pictures and updates during my dog's stay which helped keep me worry-free (I tend to get a bit anxious when hiring a new pet sitter, but he did not disappoint !)”

About: I volunteer with Furry Friends Rescue, so I’m used to all kinds of dogs. Real hands-on rescue experience means I’m comfortable with different temperaments and needs. I pay attention to behavior, stick to routines, and adjust to each dog so they feel secure and understood. I treat every animal like they’re my own and focus on keeping them calm, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.😇 Pet care fits in great! I can do drop-in visits, walks, or playtime on weekdays after 2pm, and I’m totally flexible for weekend boarding or overnight stays if you need it. I love spending real time with the animals, not just rushing in and out. I have a fenced backyard, so your pets can run around safely at my place. I make sure they’re comfortable, get plenty of exercise and attention, and I’ll crate them if that’s what they’re used to or if I need to step out. At your home, I follow your exact routine: feeding, walks, any special rules and I’ll send updates and pics so you know everything’s good!!
“My sweet, energetic Australian Shepherd (Alastor) had a fantastic day of doggy daycare with Jennifer and her family! Thanks again - he loves getting to play with your pups!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I moved back to the bay in 2020. I work from home, and my I recently moved in with my sister who also helps take care of the pups (she is a former mini Aussie owner). I can generally take out the pups very 2-4 hours and treat them as my own. I was going to foster but life got in the way (I recently had surgery in my mouth, so you will see my speech has been slightly affected) Hello there - primarily open for house sitting in SF proper for minimum of 1 week for March and April. - if it’s 2+ weeks, we can negotiate on price depending on circumstance. Just FYI so you are not surprised, I recently had a surgery in my mouth so I have a slight speech impediment. ____________________________________________
About: Our family consists of my husband and me, along with our 7-year-old Labrador. Over the years, we've raised three rescued dogs and a cat. We have also served as a foster family for guide dogs and as a temporary shelter for rescued Labradors; we truly believe in destiny and love helping animals. Since we work from home, we spend all day with our dog and would love to have other dogs around to keep him company. Since we work from home, you can expect all-day companionship for your dog, whether it's for daycare or boarding. Plus, since we have a dog of our own, your pup is guaranteed to have a blast and be super happy here! We live in a single-story, single-family house with a secure, sturdy fence all around. We like to keep the backdoor open to the backyard, and since we have a dog of our own, our home is absolutely a pet-friendly environment.
“Ethan and Gina were great for watching our dog, Copper! They sent us multiple pictures and videos of Copper throughout the day. It reassured me that Copper was in good hands. They were also able to help with an early drop off and for that we are grateful for! We will definitely be booking with Ethan and Gina again in the future!”

“Thank you so much to Christina and Joseph for accepting my last minute request. They hosted my puppy in their home and she had such a fun time that she would cry every time we would leave. I also appreciated your flexibility with pick up times. Thank you for allowing my puppy to explore, play with your pup Laker and for taking such great care of her!!”

“My puppy loved going to Sylvia’s place. Sylvia is no only attentive and loving towards your pups, but she’s also super nice and responsive to you :) She sends so many cute pictures throughout the day. Here’s another review to add to her long list of glowing reviews!”

“Karen, Will and Cookie were the best daycare hosts my puppy Sadie and I could have asked for during a visit to SF. They were so sweet and welcoming and took incredible care of Sadie. It was such a relief to find them on short notice - I had full trust in them and knew Sadie was enjoying her time there. I highly, highly recommend them for anyone looking for loving care of their dog and I will definitely use them again on our next visit. Thank you!”

“My dog had a great stay at James’ & with the other dogs. It seemed as if he has a very good demeanor and understanding of group dynamics/pack behavior of dogs. We will be back!”

“Recently moved, and our dog unexpectedly showed severe separation anxiety. The first person we worked with was unable to keep Gunner calm, but Rodrigo was a dog whisperer, helping him calm and acclimate to the area. Which helped calm and let me acclimate. Absolutely would recommend, absolutely will use again.”

About: What sets me apart is my patience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I have experience caring for pets of different ages and temperaments, including senior dogs who need extra attention and gentle care. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing medication when needed, and making sure pets feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I’m attentive to details, communicate regularly with updates and photos, and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, or extra cuddles, I focus on giving each pet personalized care based on their needs. If your dog has energy to burn or a place to rest, my home and care is the place to be. I have fully open availability. I am constantly hanging out with our 20 lb poodle. She loves the company of other dogs. We just lost our other 18 year old poodle due to old age in March of 2026. We love walks, park, and relaxing. Or a nice car ride through Sunnyvale! I have a small fenced yard with 1 poodle to keep your dog company. My neighborhood we walk a few times through the day. Dogs welcomed in the home and furniture. I have extra beds, toys, bowls, treats, and leashes. We just want the space to feel like home for all the fur babies!

Christina is a gem! And comes off immediately as intelligent, warm, kind, and fun. We are so happy to have found her on Rover. We booked last minute and she was flexible around her own plans, and came over to get instructions on how to get into our building and pick up our 9mo old husky, Yermo. She brought her pup to meet him, and then took them both to the beach! Christina was easygoing yet very communicative and gave us updates the whole time. She left a photo of Yermo once she dropped him off, even though she knew I was at a work event and wouldn't be able to respond. We're excited to have her in our network!

We were very fortunate to have found Jingjing while spending time in the Bay Area from Oregon. We had a family function and needed daycare for the event and the day prior. Jingjing and her family took great care of Curry including at least one walk a day and ball throwing. Curry wasn’t anxious or stressed when we picked him up or dropped him off on the second day. We won’t hesitate to book with Jingjing if we’re visiting the area and need day care!

We have left Bingo with Irina several times after a meet & greet, and she has been absolutely wonderful every time. She is a caring, attentive, and highly responsive sitter who truly goes the extra mile. We always received regular photos and videos of our little one, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We are very happy with her service and feel completely confident leaving Bingo in her care. We will definitely continue to use her services in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter.

Murphy really enjoyed his stay with Jen, when I picked him up, he looked back longingly wanting to go back with her hahaha. Jen sent many photos and updates on how Murphy was settling in during his daycare stay. She is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely have her watch Murphy again!

We are so grateful to have found Kenny. We tried leaving our dog at a hotel/boarding facility. We paid extra for a nice room. But he was mostly in that room alone, standing and clawing at the glass, begging for attention. And when we would drop him off, he would try to get away. When we picked him up, he was panicked and breathing hard. He couldn’t mingle with the dogs due to being intact. It was isolating and he has separation anxiety. I’m sharing this for contrast. When I drop him off at Kenny’s he runs to him, jumps and licks him, and walks away without ever looking back at me, lol. We get photo and video updates showing how much fun he has: playing in the yard with another dog, pooping! Going for a walk, eating, napping, etc. Kenny watches over them and keeps them safe, ex: big vs small, neutered/spayed vs not. My dog loves going there now, and I can focus on work without worry. So thankful to have found this priceless attention and care.

Anna was great. She responded to my request for daycare right away and was always texting back promptly. My puppy is 6 months old, he is chewing on everything. Anna played with him and gave him lots of toys. She also took him on a nice walk and played fetch with him. Anna has a great house with a fenced yard. Anna also made a lot of nice pictures of my puppy with the toys and the ball. I highly recommend Anna for puppy care. Thank you Anna!

Fiona watches my dog Kaia daily, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about her. It is such a relief knowing Kaia is in such loving and capable hands. As a dog owner, it means everything to have someone you trust completely with your pup, and Fiona gives me that peace of mind every single day. She treats Kaia like one of her own and always keeps me updated which lets me know Kaia is happy, safe, and well cared for. Finding someone this reliable, kind, and genuinely caring is rare. If you’re looking for someone to watch your dog and treat them with love and attention, look no further than Fiona. I’m so grateful we found her!

Both Jason and his dog, Remi, were great. My dog was obviously contented when he got home in the evening. Jason has a great set up: a nice well maintained home with a fenced in yard along with plenty of adaptations to make dogs happy and comfortable. Jason was also very accommodating regarding last-minute quirks in my schedule. Overall a great experience. IMHO you can’t go wrong with Jason. I’ll definitely be using him again.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
