“We absolutely love dropping our dog off with Florence! He’s naturally an anxious dog, but has really become so comfortable at their home. Florence and Wen have been so thoughtful in helping Havi transition to daycare - we are so grateful to know that our dog is well taken care of while we are away!! We cannot recommend them enough.”

About: I grew up with dogs in the family, so caring for them is second nature. Now I have young, responsible daughters who share that love — our whole family lights up around dogs. We travel too often to own one ourselves, so instead we're hoping to build lasting relationships with a few special dogs whose families need occasional help. We're not doing this for the money; we simply love dogs and want more of them in our lives. What sets me apart beyond that: I'm active and love taking dogs on hikes — and trail runs, if they're up for it — so high-energy pups will come home tired and happy. Your dog gets a whole family's attention — a workout buddy, playmates, and steady, caring company. We plan to take one dog every 2-3 months and to shower them with love and attention. If you're interested in our family, chances are best if you coordinate with us well in advance :) I'm semi-retired and work from home on a completely flexible schedule, so pet care fits naturally into my whole day — not just the edges of it. Your dog won't be waiting hours for attention: mornings can start with a long walk/hike or run and midday means play and company rather than an empty house. On the weekends, after school, on holidays, and during summer break, my daughters will shower your pup with love and attention. Safety comes first, whether your dog is with us or in their own home. We live on a large lot in Los Altos with fully fenced front and back yards, so there's plenty of secure space to play and explore. We're minutes from the foothills, with easy access to great hiking trails, and I have the proper equipment to transport your pup safely. In our home, your dog is treated as part of the family: supervised play, a consistent routine for meals, walks, and rest, and someone home all day, so dogs are never alone. On outings, dogs stay leashed unless you've told me otherwise, and I match the pace and distance to your dog's fitness and the weather, while ensuring your dog is hydrated. I'm happy to follow your routine exactly — feeding, medications, sleeping arrangements, house rules, etc. You'll get regular photo and video updates, so you always know your pup is safe and happy.
“Great service from Michael! Potter had a good time with Chloe and some other pet friends! Michael took well take care of him today and took him for a walk. Michael made sure he had a good time and that he had some fun with his friends. I will definitely use his services again ☺️😉😁”

“My sweet, energetic Australian Shepherd (Alastor) had a fantastic day of doggy daycare with Jennifer and her family! Thanks again - he loves getting to play with your pups!”

“Chinhua was so sweet, thoughtful, and incredibly patient with my senior dog. She took great care of him, kept me updated, and made sure he was comfortable the entire time. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was with someone who genuinely cares. I truly appreciate all the love and attention she gave him, and I would definitely book with her again!”

About: What sets me apart is my patience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I have experience caring for pets of different ages and temperaments, including senior dogs who need extra attention and gentle care. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing medication when needed, and making sure pets feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I’m attentive to details, communicate regularly with updates and photos, and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, or extra cuddles, I focus on giving each pet personalized care based on their needs. If your dog has energy to burn or a place to rest, my home and care is the place to be. I have fully open availability. I am constantly hanging out with our 20 lb poodle. She loves the company of other dogs. We just lost our other 18 year old poodle due to old age in March of 2026. We love walks, park, and relaxing. Or a nice car ride through Sunnyvale! I have a small fenced yard with 1 poodle to keep your dog company. My neighborhood we walk a few times through the day. Dogs welcomed in the home and furniture. I have extra beds, toys, bowls, treats, and leashes. We just want the space to feel like home for all the fur babies!
“Steven and Pei took good care of Aki with huge love. There are a lot of beautiful pictures, and those pictures are some of our favorites of Aki. I guess Aki wants to come back to see them; of course she loves their fur baby too!”

About: I’ve been a dog person in my entire life, and during Covid I got the chance to raise a puppy from infancy that now is my parents beloved pet. As a youngster, I frequently made a habit of watching and walking other people’s dogs, and very quickly loved the opportunity to meet and hang out with new animals. Once I moved to college, I began rescuing and fostering dogs and eventually ended up with one of my own. She and I adore the company of dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments! I’m currently working part time from home, so I will have a lot of extra time to care for and walk and play with any animals in my care. My house has space for animals to run around and play in, and I have access to a large fenced yard at the back of my building. This is my dog‘s favorite place to play. I have lots of toys and my house is very pet safe, with no random bits and bobs that could be harmful.
“Recently moved, and our dog unexpectedly showed severe separation anxiety. The first person we worked with was unable to keep Gunner calm, but Rodrigo was a dog whisperer, helping him calm and acclimate to the area. Which helped calm and let me acclimate. Absolutely would recommend, absolutely will use again.”

About: Hello everyone! I’m Jasmine and I have been around animals my whole life - I grew up in a very animal loving family and caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life I have always been surrounded by animals like cats dogs birds fish and even turtles which helped me understand different animal personalities from an early age Over the years I personally raised and cared for 6 cats and 2 dogs in my own home - making sure they were always safe well fed and loved every day - I also regularly helped my neighbors by taking care of their dogs when they were away and sometimes hosted them in my home so they felt safe and comfortable Along with all of this I also raised two children while living this life surrounded by animals which helped me develop a very patient calm and responsible nature in everyday life I have also supported my family with their pets whenever needed and taken responsibility for their care which gave me many years of real hands on experience I am calm patient and responsible and I truly enjoy spending time with animals - I always treat every pet with care attention and love as if they were my own family❤️ I am currently on a break and have a very flexible schedule. I am available most days of the week, including weekdays and weekends, and can adjust my time based on pet care needs. I provide a safe, calm, and loving home environment for every pet staying with me. I currently have a 3.5 year old Maltipoo who is very friendly, playful, and well socialized with other animals. He helps create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in the home. I always make sure every pet feels safe and stress-free in my home. Pets are supervised and cared for at all times, and I follow each owner’s instructions carefully to keep their routine consistent. There is also a dog park just a 2-minute walk from my home, which is a great nearby space for walks and exercise when appropriate. My goal is to make every pet feel like they are in a second home where they are safe, comfortable, and cared for.
“Ana was very caring to our little dog. She’s very thorough and amazing. So lucky to have her take care of Inday. She sends us pictures and videos to keep us updated. Very much recommended!”

“Eunice & Sean were both great! Lots of updates throughout the day and communication on what he was doing. I had zero worries and felt very comfortable. Pick up and drop off were smooth and easy. I will definitely book with them again in the future.”

“Ethan and Gina were great for watching our dog, Copper! They sent us multiple pictures and videos of Copper throughout the day. It reassured me that Copper was in good hands. They were also able to help with an early drop off and for that we are grateful for! We will definitely be booking with Ethan and Gina again in the future!”

“Karen, Will and Cookie were the best daycare hosts my puppy Sadie and I could have asked for during a visit to SF. They were so sweet and welcoming and took incredible care of Sadie. It was such a relief to find them on short notice - I had full trust in them and knew Sadie was enjoying her time there. I highly, highly recommend them for anyone looking for loving care of their dog and I will definitely use them again on our next visit. Thank you!”

“Thank you so much to Christina and Joseph for accepting my last minute request. They hosted my puppy in their home and she had such a fun time that she would cry every time we would leave. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Loyola
Christina is a gem! And comes off immediately as intelligent, warm, kind, and fun. We are so happy to have found her on Rover. We booked last minute and she was flexible around her own plans, and came over to get instructions on how to get into our building and pick up our 9mo old husky, Yermo. She brought her pup to meet him, and then took them both to the beach! Christina was easygoing yet very communicative and gave us updates the whole time. She left a photo of Yermo once she dropped him off, even though she knew I was at a work event and wouldn't be able to respond. We're excited to have her in our network!

We were very fortunate to have found Jingjing while spending time in the Bay Area from Oregon. We had a family function and needed daycare for the event and the day prior. Jingjing and her family took great care of Curry including at least one walk a day and ball throwing. Curry wasn’t anxious or stressed when we picked him up or dropped him off on the second day. We won’t hesitate to book with Jingjing if we’re visiting the area and need day care!

We have left Bingo with Irina several times after a meet & greet, and she has been absolutely wonderful every time. She is a caring, attentive, and highly responsive sitter who truly goes the extra mile. We always received regular photos and videos of our little one, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We are very happy with her service and feel completely confident leaving Bingo in her care. We will definitely continue to use her services in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter.

Murphy really enjoyed his stay with Jen, when I picked him up, he looked back longingly wanting to go back with her hahaha. Jen sent many photos and updates on how Murphy was settling in during his daycare stay. She is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely have her watch Murphy again!

We are so grateful to have found Kenny. We tried leaving our dog at a hotel/boarding facility. We paid extra for a nice room. But he was mostly in that room alone, standing and clawing at the glass, begging for attention. And when we would drop him off, he would try to get away. When we picked him up, he was panicked and breathing hard. He couldn’t mingle with the dogs due to being intact. It was isolating and he has separation anxiety. I’m sharing this for contrast. When I drop him off at Kenny’s he runs to him, jumps and licks him, and walks away without ever looking back at me, lol. We get photo and video updates showing how much fun he has: playing in the yard with another dog, pooping! Going for a walk, eating, napping, etc. Kenny watches over them and keeps them safe, ex: big vs small, neutered/spayed vs not. My dog loves going there now, and I can focus on work without worry. So thankful to have found this priceless attention and care.

Anna was great. She responded to my request for daycare right away and was always texting back promptly. My puppy is 6 months old, he is chewing on everything. Anna played with him and gave him lots of toys. She also took him on a nice walk and played fetch with him. Anna has a great house with a fenced yard. Anna also made a lot of nice pictures of my puppy with the toys and the ball. I highly recommend Anna for puppy care. Thank you Anna!

Fiona watches my dog Kaia daily, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about her. It is such a relief knowing Kaia is in such loving and capable hands. As a dog owner, it means everything to have someone you trust completely with your pup, and Fiona gives me that peace of mind every single day. She treats Kaia like one of her own and always keeps me updated which lets me know Kaia is happy, safe, and well cared for. Finding someone this reliable, kind, and genuinely caring is rare. If you’re looking for someone to watch your dog and treat them with love and attention, look no further than Fiona. I’m so grateful we found her!

Both Jason and his dog, Remi, were great. My dog was obviously contented when he got home in the evening. Jason has a great set up: a nice well maintained home with a fenced in yard along with plenty of adaptations to make dogs happy and comfortable. Jason was also very accommodating regarding last-minute quirks in my schedule. Overall a great experience. IMHO you can’t go wrong with Jason. I’ll definitely be using him again.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
