About: I love pets of all kinds, and find it very rewarding to gain their trust and make sure they are living their best life while their owner is away! I have experience with small to medium-large dogs since childhood, and had a senior cat for the last 5 years. I am good at picking up on body language queues or behavior changes, especially in more subtle and shy pets. I have lots of experience with administering medications, including with dogs suspicious of pill wrap and cats who have figured out all nicer methods besides the pill gun/liquid syringe. I occasionally travel for contract work, but keep my calendar religiously up-to-date and have plenty of daytime/evening availability! The more time in advance I get, the more likely I can plan around your pet's needs and ensure availability. I make sure to ask the important questions upfront so to minimally disturb your time away! I also have a sixth sense for when pets get into things they aren't supposed to, and if house-sitting am attuned to their (& your belongings' lol) safety!

About: I've had dogs for nearly 20 years and know every dog has their own personality and routine. I work from home, so your dog will have company throughout the day, daily walks, and plenty of attention. I only board one household at a time because I want every dog to feel comfortable and at home, not a house full of unfamiliar dogs. My dog, Henry, is friendly with dogs of all sizes and enjoys having company, but he's also pretty laid back. I've cared for senior dogs, including one with megaesophagus and myasthenia gravis, so I'm comfortable giving oral and liquid medications and following special feeding schedules. Before every first stay, I'd love to do a meet-and-greet to make sure it's a good fit for everyone. During your dog's stay, I'll send plenty of photo and video updates so you know they're doing well. I work from home full time, so your dog will have company throughout the day and won't be left alone for long periods. We usually start the day with a morning walk, followed by another walk in the afternoon and a shorter walk before bed, plus potty breaks as needed. Henry and I visit nearby parks every day, and if your dog enjoys dog parks too, I'm happy to include those with your permission. If not, we'll stick to neighborhood walks and on-leash park visits. On hot days, I'll adjust our schedule and walk during the cooler parts of the day. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. Since I only board one household at a time, I can give each dog plenty of attention and keep a close eye on how they're settling in. Dogs are never left outside unattended, and all walks and park visits are on leash unless we're in a designated enclosed area and you approve. My dog, Henry, is friendly with dogs of all sizes and enjoys having company, but he's also happy to relax and do his own thing. I also have a cat who mostly keeps to herself and usually prefers to stay out of the action. I'm happy to follow your dog's normal routine, including feeding schedules, medications, furniture rules, and any other instructions that help them feel at home. If your dog is crate trained, I'm happy to use your crate if you bring one.
