“Marion did a great job house sitting for a few days. She was very responsible and asked great questions during our meet and great. Would definitely trust her to take care of our house and cat again in the future.”

“I knew she would be great when she came to our house for a "meet and greet", brought a cat toy and immediately started playing with our two babies. I was not wrong - they were wlel cared for, well fed and most importantly, well loved.”

“Cj stayed at our apartment to watch our German Shepherd/Husky mix. He took great care of our doggo and provided frequent updates during the stay. We can definitely recommend Cj and already booked the next dog sit with him.”

“Katie was a hit with our two dogs right off the bat! From the first moment they met she immediately had their attention and enable them to take direction quickly. While we were away Katie took them to the park numerous walks spent tons of quality time with them and in general made the weekend as much a vacation for the pups as it was for us, the home was in great shape when we came home, and even personalized cute report cards for the pups! Book Katie while you have the chance!!”

“Kimberly is great- Emmy loves her! She makes traveling so much easier, and she takes adorable photos of Emmy with the zoomies, playing hide-and-seek, and curled up looking cozy. Couldn't be happier!”

About: I have been caring for dogs since I was about 8, and being around them has always been a big part of my life. I grew up with a beagle, and now I share my home with a chihuahua mix and a labrador mix, so I’m familiar with the needs of both small and large breeds. Over the years I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with feeding, routines, and keeping their dog's company. Spending time with so many different dogs has helped me understand their personalities and make sure each one feels safe, comfortable, and supported. I’m currently taking online classes, and since those are fully remote, I have flexible availability throughout the day. I can easily fit in walks, drop‑in visits, or house sitting depending on what your pet needs. My schedule allows me to be reliable, responsive, and present for your pet’s routine. I prioritize safety and comfort during every walk, drop‑in, and house‑sitting stay. I follow each pet’s routine closely, use secure leash habits, and keep a calm, tidy environment in your home. I also care for two dogs of my own, keeping them on a consistent routine with daily walks and scheduled feeding, so I understand how important structure is for keeping pets happy and comfortable.
“Rachel was fantastic. She started communicating before even arriving which is wonderful because it’s clear she cares. While we were gone she sent frequent photos and updates. Rachel was very thoughtful when taking our dog for walks (cognizant of the neighborhood dogs and owners). Our babies were well cared for and we are so thankful.”

“Shannon filled in at the last minute and did a wonderful job. My huskies are full of energy and she managed them beautifully. I really appreciate her flexibility and willingness to take on my dogs without a prior introduction. I will be booking her again, for sure!!”

“Scarlett took such wonderful care of our dog, Snow Cone! She was so kind, flexible to a couple of last minute changes, and took lots of great photos. She communicated really well with us, with very prompt responses, and asked great questions during the meet and greet. We are excited to book her again soon!”

“We really appreciated how communicative Devin was, and our dog seemed comfortable with him from the get go, even crawling into bed with him to cuddle. Respectful of home, dogs, and humans. Appreciated his sitting”

“As a first time rover user i was pretty hesitant to use the app, but Tiana has ensured that i use it more going forward. She is prompt, shares lots of pet pics while im away, and i think my cat ended up missing her when i got back”

“Amara was so friendly and flexible. The dogs really liked her a lot. She took very good care of our house and left it cleaner than she found it. We will definitely book with Amara again!”

“Kristine was absolutely amazing! Took every detail that we asked of her and told her about our Doberman and she followed through with extra little details! Kristine was very communicative and you can really tell she cares about what she does. Will gladly hire her again! P.S. she works at a flower shop and left beautiful bouquets for us in our kitchen. I’m obsessed!”

“Jeannette is amazing! I have used her both for drop by visits and pet/ house sitting. Her communication is excellent and she sends pictures with her updates and it was very clear how much my dog has bonded with her and he is very well cared for. House left spotless, too. I will definitely use Jeannette again!”

About: Since a very young age I have always wanted to get a dog, except it was not the easiest to convince my parents. Instead I would offer to walk and take care of pets from friends and family to prove that I could be responsible with pets. I would dog walk and board dogs from time to time, and now have picked up the amount of times that I would take care of these dogs. From more referrals to consistent clients coming back to me, I enjoy making these dogs happy as their owners may be away for some time. I currently work in Real Estate under an individual agent in Los Altos part time. I go to the gym in the early mornings where I usually walk or take them out to use the bathroom before leaving. If I need to go somewhere I will take them with them if they are willing to. If it comes to it, I will come back between errands to come let them out and check in on them. I have a fenced yard with a smaller dog who tends to mind her business, but will play with other dogs in the afternoon or early mornings. I make sure that the dogs I take care of need everything that they need from more than just the essentials.
“I am so grateful for Ghazaal as she has developed a close bond with my dog Lily. I can always rely on her and know my dog and my home will be well cared for when I am away. ❤️”

“Sydney was wonderful with my dog while I was out of town. She asked great questions beforehand and obviously cared about trying to keep things as normal for my pup as possible. While I was gone, I trusted her in my home, and appreciated her updates along the way. It was clear Bailey enjoyed her time with Sydney!”

“This is our second time booking with Genevieve, specifically for a house, shit, and it went off without a hitch! Genevieve, of course, followed all our specifications for our son DOOM and we got constant pictures and communication from her all throughout the day. She is also good with asking, clarifying questions, and that means a lot to us as well.We are very happy with her as a dog sitter, and we recommend her for anyone’s dog sitting needs!”

Mica took wonderful care of our German Shepherd! She sent us great photos, took him on some nice walks, and kept us updated with excellent communication. We would absolutely book with Mica again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful dog sitter!

Amy is the find of the century! She is so thoughtful and thorough. She gave all the updates and the pictures, and our pup looked so happy throughout it all. We will definitely be using her services again as should anyone who wants a responsible and communicative sitter!

I’m 100% satisfied with how CJ cared for our dog and our home while we were away. He quickly made friends with our Coda, managed her different medications, played with her and took loads of pictures which he sent us twice daily with updates. He even took out the trash, washed the sheets and remade the bed. Definitely would book CJ for our future needs!

Cynthia did a great job taking care of Mabel over a 10 day trip. She was respectful of our place and left everything as it was once we got back. We got timely updates and did lots of activities with our pup who has a lot of energy. Would love to book her again in the future

Kristin was great with my large golden doodle who likes to fetch and go on walks, and also cared for our crested gecko. She communicated when she had questions, plus cleaned up the guest room (including sheets/towels!), kitchen and yard nicely, got packages in that arrived while I was away, got trash/recycle bins out for pickup, and most importantly, my dog and gecko seemed very happy.

Mary is fantastic!!! Such great caring and loving energy. My whole family's heart and mind were at ease knowing Mary was taking care of our doggie family member. One of my kids sidled up next to me and said "Wow, Mom, Mary is great!" I was in my usual frantic state leaving for the airport and Mary calmly and sweetly took care of breakfast for our dog and then played and distracted Lilo from our departure. Probably the best exit we have ever had with Lilo. Mary also sent wonderful daily pictures and messages while we were gone. Thank you so much Mary!

Zoe is awesome! She’s proactive, observant, and very easy to communicate with, and our slightly reactive dog took to her right away. After a week with Zoe our pets actually didn’t seem like they missed us at all when we came home from our recent trip and I think it’s because they were so comfortable with Zoe and she showered them with so much love and attention while we were gone. We will definitely be booking again with Zoe in the future!

Nuray was absolutely amazing! She kept me updated on every little thing, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’m especially grateful she was house sitting because a bunch of packages arrived early, and she kindly brought them all in, even the heavy ones. She was incredibly detailed and attentive with my babies, and I could tell they got so much love and care. Truly a 20/10 experience. I would book with her again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much, Nuray!

Viktor took good care of Cashew while we were away ! We depended on Viktor to house sit, so that Cashew could stay in the house where he’s most comfortable - since he turned blind 2 years back. We appreciate your support and would rebook again - thanks Viktor

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Loyola on Rover is $89.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Loyola walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Loyola maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Loyola choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Loyola. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
