Loved like family, never alone
I grew up with dogs in the family, so caring for them is second nature. Now I have young, responsible daughters who share that love — our whole family lights up around dogs. We travel too often to own one ourselves, so instead we're hoping to build lasting relationships with a few special dogs whose families need occasional help. We're not doing this for the money; we simply love dogs and want more of them in our lives. What sets me apart beyond that: I'm active and love taking dogs on hikes — and trail runs, if they're up for it — so high-energy pups will come home tired and happy. Your dog gets a whole family's attention — a workout buddy, playmates, and steady, caring company. We plan to take one dog every 2-3 months and to shower them with love and attention. If you're interested in our family, chances are best if you coordinate with us well in advance :)

I can't recommend Jeff and his girls highly enough! This was our 8-year-old German Shepherd's very first boarding experience, so we were understandably a little nervous. From the very beginning, they went above and beyond to make sure she felt safe, comfortable, and loved. Even at our meet and greet, I was so impressed. Jeff had clearly read through Lolly's profile ahead of time and came prepared with a list of thoughtful questions about her routine, personality, and preferences. It was obvious he genuinely wanted to get to know her and make sure she had the best possible stay, and that immediately put us at ease. Every day was a new adventure for Lolly! They took her on fun outings, kept her active, and treated her like part of the family. One of my favorite parts was receiving so many photos and updates throughout her stay—it gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was happy and having such a great time. Jeff's communication was great, too. He responded incredibly quickly whenever I reached out, and anytime he had a question, he always checked with me instead of making assumptions. I especially appreciated the little things, like asking before letting her play in the doggy pool. That level of thoughtfulness meant so much. When we picked Lolly up, she was so happy, relaxed, and pleasantly tired from all of her adventures. It was clear she had been genuinely cared for and loved during her stay. As first-time boarding parents, we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. We'll absolutely be booking with Jeff again for future trips and sincerely hope he's available whenever we need him. If you're looking for someone who will care for your dog as if they were their own, I wholeheartedly recommend him!
Jeff is a very responsible, ethical and caring guy. Whether people or pets, you can count on him to do the right thing and have good instincts with respect to not endangering or overheating your pet or allowing them to get lost. I myself am a cat owner, and Jeff has always been sweet and respectful of my cat. Bonus points is he is fit and loves the outdoors so would naturally love to take dogs out for long and interesting walks.
Jeff and his kids have been close family friends for many years. We are dog owners, and we couldn’t imagine anyone better to look after your pup. He and his daughters are caring people in general, but beyond that, they really enjoy playing with and watching our dog. We consider them dog lovers, just like we are!

Schedule
I'm semi-retired and work from home on a completely flexible schedule, so pet care fits naturally into my whole day — not just the edges of it. Your dog won't be waiting hours for attention: mornings can start with a long walk/hike or run and midday means play and company rather than an empty house. On the weekends, after school, on holidays, and during summer break, my daughters will shower your pup with love and attention.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety comes first, whether your dog is with us or in their own home. We live on a large lot in Los Altos with fully fenced front and back yards, so there's plenty of secure space to play and explore. We're minutes from the foothills, with easy access to great hiking trails, and I have the proper equipment to transport your pup safely. In our home, your dog is treated as part of the family: supervised play, a consistent routine for meals, walks, and rest, and someone home all day, so dogs are never alone. On outings, dogs stay leashed unless you've told me otherwise, and I match the pace and distance to your dog's fitness and the weather, while ensuring your dog is hydrated. I'm happy to follow your routine exactly — feeding, medications, sleeping arrangements, house rules, etc. You'll get regular photo and video updates, so you always know your pup is safe and happy.
A typical day
Morning walk, hike or trail run (45-90 minutes, depending on fitness. Start and close the session with plenty of sniffing) Recover at home while I do things around the house. Perhaps some napping.
