“Sarah has been a Phenomenal dog sitter the past 2 1/2months! as the local Active Duty Navy recruiter there is no one I trust better to let my little man out while i’m at the office. Extremely responsive and will notify if anything is out of the ordinary. Think Vinny likes her more than me at this point haha 10 out of 10 recommend!”

“Julia was prompt, quick to respond, and Bao loved hanging out with her for the afternoon! She was communicative and is great with dogs. Will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Luana was absolutely wonderful with our three cats. It was so nice knowing we had reliable pet care while we were away. She made sure to send a picture each day of each of our pets. She also cleaned the bowls she used for the cats and took out the garbage which was absolutely not necessary. Luana is wonderful and should be everyone’s first choice for pet care!”
“Kristina is so amazing with my Frenchie Gus! She’s super communicative about how the walk went, and always super quick to respond. She always takes into consideration how hot it is with how far to walk. I love having her to help take care of Gus on days I work and he’s always happy as can be when I come home!”

“Patricia was great! She followed everything I asked in taking care of my cats and stayed in touch with me throughout the week. She kept me posted on any issues/concerns and was respectful of my home. I highly recommend booking with her and would definitely book with her again in the future.”

“Crystal was great. Kept us up to date about how Georgie was doing. Solid walks and generally keeping up with our girl. Would recommend, already have next booking with them set.”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was 11 years old. I have been relied on to walk, feed, care for animals of all ages. I may be able to do short-notice availability during weekdays. I adore animals and have had multiple pets in my life: cats, dog, geckos, turtle. I work from home & have slower afternoons and evenings, that gives me time to play with your pups and kitties during the work week. I have some flexibility on timing during the day to find a time that would work best I am very respectful of people spaces, as I’d hope someone would be in my home/of my pets. I am attentive of the pets needs; making sure they are safe/inside, entertained, bathroom needs are met, well fed and watered. Any medicine needing administered I can help with as well.

“Julie was great! Always a concern trying to find a sitter that’s good with medical care and providing insulin. Julie was phenomenal and attentive Scout’s needs and Skipper enjoyed her company and all the treats. Cannot wait for her to watch our boys again”

“Jaylynne was communicative and easy to talk to. I really like that she has her own cats and has experience with cats because most of the sitters on Rover are geared towards dog sitting. She provided great photos and detailed updates. Will definitely hire Jaylynne to watch me cats again :)”

“Melissa does drop in visits with my brand new puppy while I’m at work. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing the pups are in great hands. I highly recommend!”

“Jenna showed up on her own time to get the rundown on our cat care routine. She showed up on time every day as promised and provided cute pics of our kitties daily. We will be booking her again in the future. Thank you Jenna!”

“We’re so happy that we found Julia! If I could give more than 10 stars I would! I love all the pictures and videos she sends. She ensures that our little fur baby is being taken care of properly and be given lots of love while we are gone as well!”

“Averi was so kind and very patient with our two pups! This was the first time we have left our girls with anyone off of Rover and it was a wonderful experience. Averi was very communicative with us (including photos!) while we were gone on a day trip. Next time we need help watching our pups, we will definitely be contacting Averi again. Thank you so much for your help!”

About: With a lifelong passion for animals, I've been immersed in pet care since childhood. Growing up alongside three beloved labs and rescuing a stray cat seven years ago, I've honed my skills through countless neighborly pet sitting gigs and college life with roommates' furry friends. I specialize in providing tailored care to each individual unique pet and offer specialized attention to senior pets. I just graduated with my masters degree May 2024, and am in search of a job so I currently have a very flexible schedule and routine. I have a small outdoor area attached to my townhome which is gated in, but I live near Tempe Town Lake making it a nice area to walk. My home has a large living room/kitchen area with lots of space to play with pets!
“Janet did an amazing job taking care of my cat Theo! She is everything you would want in a cat sitter: responsible, communicative, and experienced. Even though my cat can be a little unpredictable, Janet handled everything like a pro and I never once worried about my cat when I was gone. Thanks Janet!”

About: I've grown up with dogs all my life, so I am extremely comfortable with dogs and understand how to take care of them. In addition, I've been around dogs ranging from Miniature Schnauzers to Great Danes. I love playing with dogs, so I will always be good company for your pets. In addition, I have experience dog sitting, both day and night. I am punctual and pay close attention to details, so you will never have to worry about me being late or forgetting to feed whatever your pet needs, be it food and or medicine. I've worked with owners who's have strict guide lines for their pet, and I have always been able to deliver on those and make sure their pets are taken care to the best extent. I am also very comfortable with cats and do not have any allergies of any kind. I work from home & my schedule is pretty flexible, so I am able to make it work very well. I enjoy frequent walks, so including the dog(s) on those walks is something I’d do as long as the owner wants that. When taking care of clients pets, I do exactly what the clients ask. I pay attention & will keep eye out for pet to make sure they aren’t getting into things they should not.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - La Jolla
I had such a great experience! Frankie is a very nervous and independent cat, so I was worried about leaving her with someone new. She was incredibly patient, respected Frankie's space, and never tried to force interactions, which I really appreciated. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Frankie was being cared for by someone who understood her personality. Communication was great, and I came home to a happy, well-cared-for cat. I will absolutely be booking with her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and reliable pet sitter!

Victoria is amazing! She was super thorough during our meet and greet, and great with my two cas during the stay. She sent me lots of pictures every day, played with them, and gave them lots of love. I felt really at ease leaving the country for a week knowing that Victoria was there. I will definitely be asking her to watch the cats again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
