About: I have had dogs of all sizes and ages growing up so I'm very comfortable with any dog. I have also been asked to walk many of my friends' dogs as well, allowing me to have experience with dogs who are not my own. I work a typical 9-5 where I’m in office, however afternoons are free and Fridays I am remote, making my schedule much more flexible! Weekends I am also free! If I were to take your pets outside on walks, they will always be securely leashed, and if I do decide to go to a park/environment for dogs I will confirm that it is okay with the you as well as making sure it is a safe place for your pet and me in general. I would never do anything without the owners approval because I understand the heartache of losing a pet to unexpected incidences.
About: I’m the go-to pet sitter for all my friends and have had pets my whole life! My pets have always meant the world to me, so you can rest assured I’ll treat yours with the TLC they deserve. I’m currently working from home which gives me the freedom to take care of pets whenever I’d like. Bring on all of the fur-babies! :) Unfortunately, my current place does not allow animals, which is why the only services I’m providing would be me going to your dog. I’m available for play-time, potty breaks, walks/runs etc. Ideally, I’d like to know if your dog has quirks or preferences that would make both of us more comfortable. Behavioral notes are key as well.

About: I grew up surrounded by animals. My family bred Siamese cats, and we always had dogs of all sizes in our home. In June 2025, I began house and pet sitting and quickly fell in love with it. Being able to spend time with animals again has been incredibly rewarding. Since then, I've cared for dogs both large and small, watched multiple pets at once, and administered medications when needed. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I strive to provide attentive, loving care so both pets and owners feel comfortable and at ease. I live a fairly routine lifestyle and enjoy spending lots of quality time with the pets in my care. I typically start my day early, which allows plenty of time for morning potty breaks, feeding, and attention before I head out to train clients for a few hours. I'm usually back home around midday and enjoy spending time with the animals I'm caring for. Depending on their energy level and owner's preferences, this may include walks, playtime, a run, or even a hike. I also work virtually at times, which allows me to be home throughout much of the day. In the evening, I'll follow your pet's normal feeding schedule and spend the rest of the night relaxing at home. Whether your pet enjoys cuddling on the couch, playing, or simply having someone nearby, they'll have plenty of companionship and attention. I'm typically home in the evenings and maintain a consistent routine, helping pets feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pets and your home. I take that responsibility seriously and strive to provide a safe, reliable, and respectful experience for every family I work with. I carefully follow each pet's routine, including feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special instructions provided by their owner. I prioritize safety on walks and outings and always make sure pets are secure and comfortable. When staying in a client's home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would my own. I keep the home clean and tidy, lock doors and windows when leaving, and provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they're away. My goal is for both pets and owners to feel relaxed, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the entire stay.
About: I have been around dogs since I was 3 years old. I have 2 rescue dogs and have experience fostering multiple puppies at a time. I also have experience caring for other animals such as horses and genuine pigs. I walk and feed my dogs daily. They are high energy and require two walks everyday. For this reason, I have also learned how to train dogs. I have a very large yard and two other friendly dogs to keep yours company. Walks are a big part of my daily dog care routine so your dog would be sure to receive a lot of exercise. Additionally, I am very flexible with care and happy to crate your dog if needed. There are many dog parks in the area that are easily accessible as well.

About: My grandpa had many dogs and grandma takes care of cats. So, I grew up loving pets. I love nature and the outdoors as well. I studied environmental sustainability. I’m a Christian. I was once a lifeguard, and people can trust me with their lives and pets:) I love plants and have a green thumb. My work is very flexible. Only occasionally do I need to go into office. And I wouldn’t know ahead of the time when I have appointments. Most of them are fairly brief: 2 to 3 hours. However, I do need to make arrangements ahead of time in terms of scheduling. So please reach out as early as possible. Occasionally, I have travel plans as well. I can come to your home and take care of your pets or walk the dogs in the neighborhood. If you prefer, I can sometimes take them to dog parks.

About: I've been surrounded by animals since I was a baby, and they've always been a huge part of my life! Over the years, I've cared for 3 cats, 2 dogs, bunnies, turtles, and parrots, so I'm comfortable with pets of all kinds. I understand that every animal has its own personality and needs, and I love getting to know each one individually. Whether it's feeding, walking, playing, giving medication, or simply providing lots of love and attention, I'm dedicated to making sure your pets feel safe, happy, and comfortable while you're away. Animals bring so much joy to our lives, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. Your pet's safety is my top priority. With years of experience caring for cats, dogs, bunnies, turtles, and parrots, I'm comfortable with pets of all ages and personalities.

“Julie is kind, patient, and extremely reliable. She took the time to get to know my four cats & their routines so that she could take exceptional care of them while we were away. She even returned to my home after-hours to help one of my kitties get unstuck from behind the washer! I highly recommend Julie to all pet parents.”

About: What started as helping out friends with their furry family members quickly turned into a true passion and four years later, I can't imagine doing anything else. Animals just get me, and I get them. I've been called a dog whisperer more than once, but honestly my highest compliment is when a cat decides to trust me. If you know, you know. I work with dogs of all sizes, from tiny lap dogs to the big ones who think they're lap dogs, and I love cats too. Every pet has their own energy and I always meet them where they are rather than forcing something that doesn't feel natural. I offer house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits at your home. I really believe pets are happiest in their own space surrounded by familiar smells and their normal routines, so I do my best to keep things consistent while you're away. The goal is that neither of you stresses too much about being apart. Whether your dog needs a calm steady presence or someone to match their wild energy on a walk, I've got them. Can't wait to meet your furry family! As a musician off tour, I have a flexible schedule and absolutely love spending downtime caring for pets—it’s grounding, joyful, and keeps me active daily. I grew up with dogs and had my own. I walk, feed, play, and cuddle—treating every pet like family with love, patience and daily care.

Whether it's walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, or caring for other types of pets, I'll make sure your animals are well cared for and feel at ease while you're away. “Gina was awesome! She was consistent, sent tons of pictures, great updates, and my cat absolutely adored her. She made me feel at ease knowing my cat was in her care. Would definitely recommend her!”

About: Hi! I'm Vivian, a UCSD medical student and lifelong animal lover. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from 9-week-old puppies to 12-year-old senior dogs. In the past, I've provided dog walking, feeding, and overnight house sitting, and I'm comfortable following specific routines, administering basic care, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I'm also a cat owner myself, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their usual routine, I'll make sure they receive attentive, reliable care and plenty of affection. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I’m currently a medical student on summer break so I will have plenty of time to dedicate to your furry friends! Throughout the rest of summer, my schedule is very flexible to cater to whatever your pet needs :) I live at graduate housing which has plenty of green space for your pets to roam around and explore! I am able to crate your pets if necessary. I have a senior cat at home that has lived with other cats before and has also been friendly with all dogs that have come to visit my home.

“Jenna did an excellent job taking care of my two cats. During each drop-in, she left detailed notes and photos. She communicated well and was available on last minute notice. I will definitely trust her to take care of my cats next time I’m out of town!”

About: Hi, I'm Marcy! Dogs have been a part of my life since birth. Growing up with dogs and later in life owning a few dogs, I’ve always had a passion for pet care. I’ve been lucky enough to own three German Shepherds well into their teen years and currently own a senior black lab. New to Rover, but not new to care for pets. I’m a stay at home dog mom, empty nester who loves walking my black lab around La Jolla Shores three to four times a day. He’s slowing down now that he’s a senior and I’m looking to keep up my steps. Let me take care of you dog and incorporate them into my daily routine or start a new one with your fur baby. I’m located in the heart of La Jolla Shores with great beach access when allowed on beach. This neighborhood is perfect for walking. If allowed, a walk to Starbs for a pup cup is an option and I know all the great treat stops, if allowed by owner. My black lab is great with other dogs and very friendly.

About: Hi! My name is Emme, and I’m currently an Occupational Therapy student living in La Jolla. I’ve been caring for animals for many years and absolutely love spending time with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and provide overnight care for their pets while they’re away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re gone. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, administering basic medications, and caring for multiple pets at once. I will treat your pets as if they were my own and provide plenty of updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away! As a graduate student in Occupational Therapy, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive care for your pets. I am generally available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight house sitting. I only have in-person classes on Mondays, so I can spend plenty of quality time with your pets and maintain their normal routines. I know leaving your pets with someone else can be stressful, so I do everything I can to make both you and your pets feel comfortable. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, and routines to keep things as normal as possible for your pet. I treat every home with respect and every pet like they’re part of my own family. I’ll also send plenty of updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: Absolutely dog obsessed!!! - here for the summer before heading to grad school in September! I have a very lazy older dog Earl (we used to live in Manhattan and have been on good morning America and Seth meyers together!). Earl won’t walk as much as I want to get out this summer, so I thought I would love walk other dogs and walk to check in on other dogs! I will never walk more than one dog at a time (unless you have two dogs and want me to walk them together!) Very flexible with scheduling, living in windansea and have a car so willing to drive to you if needed, happy to accommodate what routes your dog likes or if it’s just a home check in send pictures to you 🐶🐾 Let me know if you have any questions! After working in finance for tech (Spotify and Square) / sports (NFL) for 6 years I decided I want to go to grad school to pivot my career. I ended my last tech job early June and am taking an online math class (~3 hours a week) until grad school starts! Will have lots of available time and thought what better than to get out in the sun and go on dog walks/walk to check in on others’ dogs! Happy to set up expected routines (I have a few weddings / some weekends I’m out of town) or work on an ad hoc needed basis :) Best way to tell you about safety and trust is that my dog is a 6 year old bulldog with no health issues - I take very good care of him and always keep a close watch (he has his quirks with temperament!!) I almost went to UC Davis for undergrad in vet sciences but decided I love animals too much I can’t imagine the harder conversations some vets have to have. I’ve grown up in Northern California with big and small dogs (basset hounds, weiner dog, terrier chihuahua mix, 2 goldens, 1 English retriever… and some chinchillas (our home was amazing!!!)) so I know each dog is different with temperament and quirks- totally here to take notes and make sure I abide by exactly what you want! Also, I worked as an internal auditor for 4 years at Spotify and an AI company - so I am naturally a very risk adverse person who wants to make sure I understand guidelines and expectations..Especially when it comes to your house / dog! feel free to run a background check or ask for references 👍 happy to also set up a quick meeting and I can swing by or meet you at a local coffee shop to “vet” me out (no pun intended!). Looking forward to it!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - La Jolla
Emily was awesome! She was incredibly easy to work with, communicative, and flexible. Our Golden Retriever puppy, Teddy, took to her right away, and it was obvious she was great with him. She kept us updated throughout the visit, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We will book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

I had never used a sitting service before. A friend told me about rover.com. I thought I’d take a chance and boy did I get lucky. Jenna showed up at my door to meet my cat and myself. She was bright, professional and pleasant and….. from the Midwest! she did an amazing job. Remembered every little detail I had told her. She sent happy photos of my happy cat twice a day. I looked forward to those photos and her little review. It was this that enabled me to enjoy my visit with my elderly parents. Thank you Jenna!

Ariana truly went above and beyond taking care of our pup! Our dog Kermit has severe anxiety, it is not often he will go up to a stranger in our neighborhood without barking. During our meet and greet, he immediately went up to her, I knew she would be a great fit then! I got plenty of updates during her drop in visit and great pictures. Her updates were super detailed and I felt comfortable leaving my anxious dog in great hands. She went above and beyond to help clean up the stuffing from his toys and treated my home with great care. Ariana was also extremely punctual and quick to respond. I could not recommend her more!

Victoria is amazing! She was super thorough during our meet and greet, and great with my two cas during the stay. She sent me lots of pictures every day, played with them, and gave them lots of love. I felt really at ease leaving the country for a week knowing that Victoria was there. I will definitely be asking her to watch the cats again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
